About Guro Storla
We are a couple from Norway a doctor and a midwife, who have found our paradise on earth on the beautiful peninsula of Lustica, that we would like to share with you.
Guro Storla purchased this Villa in 2005
Why Guro Storla chose Herceg Novi Municipality
Because of our busy jobs we had been looking for a "refuge", a peaceful place where we could lower the shoulders. We have been travelling a lot, and seen many places, but few that compares to Lustica. A place of outstanding natural beauty and friendly and relaxed people who seldom seem to be in a hurry. It is a place where you do not need to do anything at all; you can spend the day at the pool, take a short trip to the beach, read in the shadow or just lay down and look at the bright, blue sky. But if you prefer, Montenegro has endless possibilities for exploration; old stone cities on UNESCOs lists, rafting, climbing, hiking, fishing or boating. It is all up to you!

Beautiful villa in gorgeous setting
We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday in this villa. The setting and views are breath-taking, especially the sunsets!
There was plenty of space for a group of 12 adults, with lots of choice in seating areas at the pool, on the upper terrace, or at the large dining table in the kitchen. Bedrooms were all spacious, and bathrooms finished to a high standard.
The pool area was fantastic, and there is a lovely path from here down to a local beach which is about a 20 minute (slightly challenging) walk.
We visited some of the local beaches and beach clubs which were gorgeous, and also went on a longer trip to do white water rafting near the Bosnian border.
The only thing worth mentioning with the villa is that it wouldn't be suitable for anyone with mobility issues- the path from the parking spaces to the villa and from the villa down to the pool is quite uneven and steep, and the villa itself is set out over lots of levels in general. Wasn't a problem for our group at all, but worth noting.
All in all, a wonderful holiday in a stunning & unique property!
Beautiful remote villa with a great view
Me and twelve of my friends spent a week here celebrating turning 30. There was plenty of room for everybody and the location of the villa guaranteed that everyone found something to do! The place is even more beautiful in real life than in pictures and the view is amazing. This is not a modern villa, but this is what gives this place a homey and warm feeling. The pool is perfect for hanging out on the days that you don't feel like doing anything and the upper terrace was big enough that we could all have breakfast there every morning. We were such a large group that we did not really cook at the villa, but luckily there is a great restaurant down the hill just 5-10 minutes away. The villa is also quite remote so we did not disturb any neighbors.
You definitely need a car to get here and to move around easily. Kotor and Budva are both close by where you can find lots of activities (kayaking, diving, paddle boarding...) as well as picturesque Tivat with it's luxury yachts and beautiful boardwalk. We also made a day trip to go canyoning in Nevidio and hiking in Durmitor national park (these were about 2-3hrs by car). The little bit longer journey wasn't a problem since the scenery on the way is so beautiful. Guro and Dag were also very helpful in answering any questions. All in all we could not have asked for anything more from our holiday here, I strongly recommend Villa Storla!
Beautiful property and a view to die for!
We loved our stay here. The house is beautiful, wonderfully restored and comfortably furnished, and the location is stunning - a wooded hillside overlooking the Bay of Kotor, surrounded by spring flowers and birdsong. We enjoyed eating on the terrace and picking cherries from over the wall to finish off our barbecue. Holiday highlights included exploring the beautiful towns around the bay, afternoons on local beaches, dinner by the sea in Rose, and a day in the mountains, complete with hair-raising zip wire ride for the kids. Next time we'll try to fit in rafting and kayaking as well!
One note of caution - the house is spread over multiple levels and access is via a narrow lane with steps and a very uneven surface. So if you have less able members of the party, this may not be the right property for you.
characterful and enchanting
We had a truly wonderful holiday staying in this beautiful property. We were a party of 8 adults and 7 children, and there was more than enough space for everyone. The main body of the house is beautiful, and is spacious yet very cosy and comfortable. There are two further annexes which makes it perfect for group holidays, but the highlight for me were the views from the terraces.
The swimming pool is fantastic, and is perfectly gated off with a children's pool attached, which meant that all ages and abilities could enjoy hours in the water along side each other.
The Lustica penninsular is beautiful, and the location of the villa means that you can explore the whole of Montenegro with relative ease. It has the feeling of being 'off the beaten track' yet not isolated in the slightest.
I would recommend a stay here wholeheartedly, and Dag is a very welcoming and helpful owner which is a huge bonus!
We were a group of 13 with 7 teenage children, this villa was perfect for us. It is spacious, clean and beautifully restored. It is very well equipped, we had barbecues at the pool and dinners on the terrace admiring the views over the bay and the stunning sunsets. The pool is a good size for swimming as well as for games. There are lots of beautiful places to visit nearby, we hired a boat for the day which picked us up at the beach below the house, and took us around the bay stopping to swim and sightsee and enjoyed lunch in a lovely seafood restaurant. I would recommend this for anybody looking for a place to relax with lots to do and great places to visit nearby
What a lovely find! This beautifully restored villa and its surroundings exceeded our expectations. The house was a haven in its tranquil, rustic setting with absolutely stunning views to the fjord and mountains. It was a perfect place to stay with friends, providing such a relaxing base to come back to after days exploring this region of Montenegro. There was a choice of patios to sit and enjoy coffee or breakfast, as well as a covered BBQ area by the pool, which we enjoyed with our friends in the evening as the sun went down. The swimming pools were a great success and provided many hours of fun for the children. There was plenty of space for everyone in this tastefully decorated and well-equipped villa. Memories of our wonderful holiday here will sustain us over the winter!
Special interest holidays:
Fishing, sailing (Kotor), boat trips, swimming and cafes in nearby Rose, hiking, walking, shopping, night life (in Kotor, Tivat and Budva).
Almost every morning we walk 15 minutes down to the sea to take a swim in the Fjord were you can spend your day, or walk up for a lovely breakfast on the terrace. The beaches of Montenegro stretch along the Adriatic coast from Herceg Novi in the north, past Tivat, Kotor, Budva and Bar to Ulcinj in the south. There are 173 beaches with a total length of 73 km. The closest is Zanjice and Przno beaches at Lustica which is a 20 minute drive.
A range of Europe's air carriers fly to Dubrovnik (2 hours by car to our villa). An increasing number of airways also fly on Tivat (20 minutes by car to our villa). We strongly recommend our guests to hire cars at the airport, both because the public transportation is scarce and complicated, and because a car is the key to explore the unique and beautiful country.
Tivat and Kotor (UNESCO Heritage site) 20 mins. Budva (great nightlife) 30 mins. Lovcen NP 60 mins. Lake Skadar 1.5 hour. Perast 55 mins. Villa Storla is on the edge of a small, peaceful village with a feeling that time has stood still for fifty years. Krašići is 5 minutes away by car, where you can buy your fresh bread every morning, or enjoy a meal at one of the restaurants.
