Detached bungalow 15 minutes walk to sea. Bungalow has 3 double bedrooms with double bed in one room and 2 single beds in the other rooms. 2 of the double bedrooms are downstairs. We have a travel cot. We have a 4th bedroom/study downstairs with sofa bed and 32" TV. The lounge has 2 leather sofas & 1 leather armchair, 37" TV, DVD player, video player, CD player, video m/c & WiFi. Kitchen has builtin double electric cooker, electric hob, washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, kettle, coffee machine & toaster. The dining area has a table & 6 chairs. (Additional chairs in bedrooms.) The downstairs bathroom has a walkin shower cubical, toilet & sink. Upstairs there is 2nd bathroom. It has gas central heating. Off road parking for 2 cars, the garden is on 3 sides of the property. There is a bench and patio table and 6 chairs with parasol along with a BBQ. There is small pond in back garden. There are 2 pubs/restaurants within 500 yards along with local grocery shop. There are additional restaurants, banks and shops less than 1 mile away. It only takes 2/3 minutes to drive to the sea. We are on edge of new forest. Bournemouth is 8 miles away. Bournemouth airport is 8 miles away. There are lots of golf courses around here. Sorry no pets. No smoking.

Highcliffe castle as seen on last series of Mr Selfridge is just over 1 mile away.

Bournemouth has an international annual air show on for 4 days from Thursday August 31st to Sunday 3rd September 2017.

About Steve & Sue Brooks

I am Steve Brooks and I own a printing company called Allbrook printers in Hemel Hempstead. My wife Sue is retired. We have 3 children and 5 grandchildren. The bungalow is our holiday home. We go there as often as we can. We plan on retiring there eventually. We bought the bungalow 5 years ago and have spent a lot of time doing the place up including adding large extension, bedroom and bathroom upstairs and just done garage and new driveway and patio. New kitchen has been fitted in January 2016

Why Steve & Sue Brooks chose Christchurch

It is lovely there with lots to do. It is only 15 minutes walk cutting through the Chewton woods to the sea which is sandy to the left of Cliffhanger resturant. You have lovely view of Isle of Wight from there. The new Forest is very close as well and there are lots of lovely walks to do around there. If you want major towns Bournemouth town centre is 8 miles away. There are lots of lovely golf courses here as well which I am enjoying trying out.

What makes this bungalow unique

There are 2 pubs about 500yds away which both offer good food if you dont want to cook.

In the garden you can be in the sun all day if you want as we have garden on 3 sides of bungalow. The garden is private with high hedge and fence surrounding it. We have a BBQ to use in summer.

Remarkably spacious and roomy for a bungalow - the extensions are great additions.

Wonderful downstairs shower room - really nice with seemingly never ending hot water.

Very comfy beds - we all loved the foam mattresses and had great nights sleep

Fabulous location - ideal base for many of the local attractions, beaches and towns.

Very nice big TV in the lounge.

Just wanted to drop you a small note saying how much we enjoyed the house. It was clean and comfortable and everything we could think off was provided. I am sure we will be in contact with you next year to book again.

Notes on accommodation: No smoking and no pets. Outside: Parking for 2 cars on property or you can park on street outside front door. The garden is on 3 sides of the property. There is a bench, patio table with 6 chairs and parasol. The garden is on 3 sides of property so you can be in the sun all day if you want. There is a summer house in garden. All the garden is flat and there is small pond in back garden. We also have BBQ which is put out in summer. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Property is cleaned prior to your arrival. Linen and towels included (not beach towels). Other: The dining area has table and 6 chairs which is in extension, along with a high chair. Radio/cassette player in extension as well. In the study/4th bedroom is sofa and TV. .

Excellent accommodation catering for young and old

This was our second visit and love the new kitchen, which is very well equipped. All the rooms were clean and comfortable. We all very much appreciated Steve and Sue accommodating our special requests, thank you both. The property caters for both young and old and is close to local amenities, shops, pubs, takeaways etc. Lots of places of interest to visit within easy reach by car. We look forward to returning (circumstances permitting).

Fantasic bungalow

We had a fantastic time. This bungalow was beautiful, spacious and very comfortable. We could not have wished for a more relaxing time..

The kitchen was very well equipped and all the rooms were spacious and very clean. The outside space was great. Steve and Sue Brooks were very helpful and made our stay unforgettable. Shops nearby and two pubs within walking distance. We will definitely book again next year

Fantastic find for a relaxed affordable holiday !

Excellent location,near all local amenities , supermarkets nearby and tourist attractions within shirt car drive ! very good sized bedrooms on ground floor. Lovely modern shower room downstairs. Great sized bath upstairs!

Lovely kitchen diner - Plenty of superb appliances! Dishwasher ,fridge freezer , hob , oven and washing machine all worked well! Wi-fi available ! 2 rooms with televisions so no squabbling over choice of channels! Lovely and warm as toast on a winter holiday!

Garden to enjoy! Parking at front of home or on designated concrete drive.

Secure and safe surroundings!

Good communications with owners!

Loved the place and will be booking again soon!

My elderly disabled mum loves the place and the room she had to walk around in with her walking frame !

Thank you Steve and Sue for a lovely place to stay ! We will be returning shortly !

Large, warm and good value for money

We had a lovely stay in this large bungalow. The kitchen was perfect and very well equipped. Both bathrooms were perfect; lovely corner bath and walk in shower. The bungalow was very clean and for once the wifi worked very well in a holiday home. Easy walk into Highcliffe (10 mins) through the woods at the end of the road and short walk to the beaches. Two very good pubs within walking distance.

A Very Lucky Find!

We left it a bit late to find somewhere suitable for a mixture of people and this could not have been better. Our son and daughter-in-law were the energetic ones who went walking down to the beach reasonably early each morning before breakfast. They also discovered the excellent cafe on the cliffs which we all managed to visit for breakfast one morning. The holiday accommodation was well equipped with everything we needed and was spotlessly clean and well cared for. Our daughter-in-law cooked us a delicious fish pie one evening after discovering a fresh fish stall down near Christchurch Harbour. We were in easy reach of the coast and the forest which made for a very interesting holiday. We also went into Poole. There are numerous public houses that offer good food and a good variety, and one we discovered on this visit was

The Silver Hind at Sway where we had a very good lunchtime meal.

The description of the holiday property was very good and the travel directions sent by Steve were great and easy to follow. If we needed to contact Steve he was always courteous and understanding and nothing was too much trouble. It was lovely to have my husband's sister who was over on holiday from Australia with us for a few days, and my husband who is slightly disabled found the whole holiday easy to cope with. All in all everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves and look forward to spending time in Highcliffe in the not too distant future. Thank you Steve and Sue for helping to make our holiday so good.

Very homely stay, everything we needed and very comfortable.

Excellent kitchen and dining room.

Although only there a few days there is a nice garden

if you wanted to stay local.

A sort walk to the shop's, which include a fish and chip shop, a handy corner shop hair dressers and pub,

only 5 minutes drive to the coast, very nice.

15 minutes walk to sea, 3 mins by car. The nearest beach is mixture of sand and stone. On left side of beach it is mainly sandy and the right side is mainly stoney. mudiford and bournemouth beaches are sandy which are about 10 minutes drive by car.


Bournemouth nearest airport about 10 miles. Southampton nearest ferry port then Portsmouth. Car would be useful to explore the area.


We are right on the edge of the new forest.

Highcliffe Castle is a Grade 1 listed Georgian mansion which was built by Lord Stuart de Rothesay and remains today with its two entrance lodges being used as a restaurant. Highcliffe castle Is seen on current series of Mr Selfridge is just over 1 mile away.

Bournemouth is renowned as one of the most fashionable holiday destinations in Europe. Bournemouth's Pier Arcade and beautiful parks and gardens, an excellent choice of attractions and vibrant nightlife. Other attractions include The Bournemouth International Centre (BIC), the fabulous Oceanarium on Bournemouth's seafront and the fascinating Russell Cotes Art Gallery Museum, along with theatres, cinemas and a diversity of nightlife and restaurants.
