Feb. 1-5

We came hoping to slow down time. No...to be enfolded by time. We began

with nothing on the calendar. And then embraced being, well, indolent. Just

being and following whims.

That involved sleeping, reading, watching rain pour down the windows,

walking in the gardens here, til we were filled with scents and winter

blossoms.

And then there were walks along the Point

Along rugged shorelines

Enfolded by gentle waves

And the unleashed power of the surf

Where wind, waves

and bending sunlight

worked their magic

on our active minds

Nature giving her instructions

Opening mind and heart

Thoughts unburdened

Shared in companionable silence

Understood without words.

A superlative time facilitated by the Secret Cottage, replete with every

imaginable provision and personal touch. We were smitten! Stayed an extra

day. Will be back to revisit.=

The best VRBO yet

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed in some pretty impressive properties but Secret Garden is the best yet. We knew from the pictures and description it would be special but the reality delivered ever so much more than we could have imagined. Beautiful and serene gardens and views, charming hosts, delightful light filled cottage and perfect breakfast. Thanks Phil and Patsy for such a special visit!

Beautifully-appointed serene hideaway nestled in a beautiful garden

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I visited this wonderfully situated and beautifully designed cottage in the hills of Inverness for our annual birthday weekend. We were immediately greeted by a phone call from our hosts confirming our arrival, making sure we felt welcome and well-taken care of and answering whatever questions we needed addressed. We were disappointed not to have met Phil and Patsy but also appreciated their respect for our privacy. It truly felt like our own little home for the long weekend.

We explored Point Reyes Nat'l Seashore and the various villages in the area. Being a cheesemaker and both being local food enthusiasts, we were thrilled the taste the local cheeses, oysters and other local foods. There were recommendations for restaurants and stores in the cottage.

One touch I really appreciated, having rented many private residences here and abroad, was the labelling of light switches and drawers so there was no need to run around testing every switch to see which turned on the light in question. The towels and robes were luxuriant and the cottage was well stocked with breakfast food, coffee and tea, so our mornings were relaxing with no need to run off to find something to eat. We even cooked one of our dinners in the cottage, which was well equipped for the job.

The bottom line is that we highly recommend this property for a visit to Point Reyes. You will relish the privacy, quiet and beauty.

superb vacation rental experience

  • 5 of 5

This was one of our best experiences utilizing VRBO. Phil and Patsy were great hosts, providing important information about our stay, and allowing us to enjoy the serenity of this special vacation home. The cottage was spotless, we appreciated the hardwood floors, and the abundance of light from the windows. The gardens were spectacular, the view of Tomales Bay was a treat, and listening to the fountain at night was a nice touch to enhance the ambience.

Thank you for sharing the Secret Garden Cottage!

Truely IS a hidden jewel

  • 5 of 5

The Secret Garden Cottage was wonderful, clean and quant. The place was emaculate. The gardens beautiful. The hosts very helpful. They thought of everything! There is hiking right there from the property, great restaurants close by and a nice view of the bay. We loved the location and very much enjoyed our stay. We hope to make it back again someday. Wonderful Getaway for Two

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I spent 2 nights at this cottage. We have stayed in several rental properties in this area, and this is one of the best. It is exactly as advertised. Very clean and comfortable. The setting is beautiful and the gardens are a special treat. The owners have thought of everything and have provided good instructions as to how to use all the features of the cottage. We would definitely stay there again.
