Of Georgian origin Battery House was completely renovated in 2007, to create a luxury 4 bedroom town house. Situated on the corner of Battery Row and Grand Parade within Old Portsmouth the area is steeped in maritime history. Lord Nelson takes pride of place in the centre of Grand Parade and also from the front windows the ruined Garrison church where Charles II married can be observed. The house is situated over four floors, with the living accommodation being on the top floor, with a further floor for the roof terrace. The living area and kitchen are also situated here, with the bedrooms below.

We have many years experience in the hospitality and accommodation business and hope that our guests enjoy their experience with us time and again.
Ian Hall purchased this House in 2009
Why Ian Hall chose Old Portsmouth
Battery House is our first foray into holiday lettings. We fell in love with the house the moment we set eyes on the view from the roof terrace across The Solent towards the Isle of Wight as a navy frigate sailed past. The enjoyment increased as we discovered each room from the living room to each bedroom offered more fantastic views. Indeed where else could you lie in bed and watch so many varieties of sailing boats, ferries and container ships as they pass by? We never tire of the variety of weather encountered from one hour to the next, sipping cocktails on the roof terrace one moment, then view an unfolding thunder storm at sea from the warmth and tranquility of the lounge. Added to that a charming new house but within Georgian walls we could not ask for more!
What makes this House unique
Being located right in the heart of Old Portsmouth Battery House is easily accessed by car, train and ferry. Many of Portsmouth's historical sites are within walking distance. There are so many attractions around this area of the South Coast from castles to cathedrals, designer shopping to navy ships. Days out to the Isle of Wight or days in observing the entrance to Portsmouth Harbour from a ring side seat!! Southsea beach is just a stroll away for an afternoon dip followed by dinner on the roof terrace and what we think is one of, if not the best view in Portsmouth.

Amazing views and a lovely house
The views are even better than described - right on the water front with all manner of water traffic passing right in front of you, observed from the comfort of the lounge or with a panoramic view from the roof terrace.
The house is so well located for access to Portsmouth's many attractions, not least the naval dockyard, but also Guwharf Quays and the beach.
Accommodation very good with comfortable if small bedrooms but with nice en-suite facilities and excellent kitchen, well stocked with appliances and equipment. Great to prepare food and look out of the window toward the sea and Isle of Wight!
