Notes on accommodation: Bramble cottage is suitable for children of all ages, all baby equipment (cot, highchair and stairgate) available free of charge. Sorry but pets are not accepted. Outside: The 1/2 an acre garden is mainly laid to lawn with a large patio near the cottage with table/chairs/BBQ and sun parasol. The heated swimming pool is approx 8mx4m (26ft by 13ft) with a patio area facing south, and has sun loungers and parasols for our guests use. The swimming pool is for the sole use of the guests of Bramble Cottage. The swimming pool will be made available for use from mid May through to mid September, but depends very much upon the day and night time temperatures. Outside of these dates keeping an outdoor pool to a satisfactory temperature is extremely difficult even when heated. The pool is fenced off from the house and also has an alarm system. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All bed linen, T-towels, bath mats are included in the rental price. All you need to bring is your own towels. For allergy reasons we do not supply cot linen. Optional final clean of £50 if you do not wish to clean the cottage on your departure.

A great away from it all Cottage

  • 5 of 5

This was our first visit to Brittany and to Bramble Cottage and certainly won't be our last. The cottage is a rural location surrounded by trees and fields and the first thing that strikes you us silence, apart from birdsong little else is heard. On a clear night the sky is something to behold!!!

The cottage was excellent, probably the best equipped we have stayed in and we have been coming to France for the last 10 years. The cottage is well maintained and tidy.

Outside the there is a wooden table which seats 6 (cushions would be a welcome addition), the pool is heated and even on a cool day is warm enough to swim in, we were there during early September.

David & Vanessa were most helpful from the time we booked and during our stay.

We have no hesitation in recommending Bramble Cottage

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review and we are pleased you enjoyed your stay in Bramble Cottage. We note your comment regarding cushions for the wooden chairs and will purchase some for next year. We look forward to seeing you both again in the future. Vanessa and David

Stunning cottage in great location

  • 5 of 5

This was our second trip to one of David and Vanessa's cottages, this time with our family. Bramble cottage is well located and the swimming pool was just amazing. It was well heated to 28 degrees and all the family used it every day. The cottage is so well equipped and as with their other cottages everything you need and more for a self catering holiday. The wifi is excellent and the English Freeview tv is ideal for long lazy evenings when the weather is a little cooler as our stay was in September. Would love to come back in the winter and make use if the woodburner ! We will be back again !

Ideal family holiday home

  • 5 of 5

Having lived in Brittany we decided to come back for a holiday with our 2 young children. We chose Bramble cottage as it had a private fenced pool. From booking the cottage to leaving the owners David and Vanessa really looked after us. The cottage has everything our family wanted including toys for our 2 little boys and ample baby equipment. The large garden with swing was great and the swimming pool was warm and clean. The surrounding area offers so many things to do and we have re booked to come back in 2015 to see the dry Lake. We would recommend this cottage 100% to families of all ages or couples who are wanting a getaway holiday.

excellent holiday cottage

  • 5 of 5

This was our first time to Bramble cottage but will not be our last. The cottage is located in a rural location so ideal for a family relaxing holiday but close to all the amenities you require. The cottage was excellent, had everything you could ever want including toys for our two children. On arrival the cottage was very clean and well maintained. The swimming pool was heated and all the family loved it, this made our holiday. We would have no hesitation in recommending this to friends or family and we are coming back in 2014.

Car: necessary

The 3 coastlines of Brittany are all within an easy 1 hours drive and each offering different landscapes. The beautiful Lac de Guerledan is only 20 mins drive away and offers some lovely sandy beaches which are ideal for young children and some also provide some shade. Many different water sports are offered on the lake including water skiing, canoeing and pedaloes. The Nantes to Brest canal is only 10 mins drive away and offers miles on unspoilt tow paths ideal for walking or cycling.

St Malo and Roscoff ports are an easy 1 1/2 hours drive away. Cherbourg and Caen are about 3 1/2 hours drive but these are on unbusy roads, not like the UK. Dinard, Brest and Lorient airports are all within 1 1/2 hours drive away and car hire can be arranged at all of these airports.

We can offer a 20% discount with Brittany Ferries to our guests, below is a list of the UK ports and French ports they operate from.

Further Details:

We can provide a 20% discount off Brittany Ferries crossings to France (from the UK and Ireland). Please usk us for the discount code should you require it.

Other ferry operators offer the following routes:- LD Lines Portsmouth to Le Harve (probably one of the cheaper crossings).

Condor Ferries. Poole to St Malo (fastcat). The Channel Tunnel is about 6 to 7 hours drive from us but will be the cheapest cost option especially if you have an early crossing. You can use your Tesco vouchers to pay for this and get a 4x multiplication on value.
