Peace of heaven - Villa Carlette is situated in the heart of Uzumlu near Fetihye. It stands proudly in its own grounds with magnificent views all around. It has been decorated to a very high standard and comprises of 3 double bedrooms each with own balcony, all with panoramic views of the mountains. The master bedroom having en-suite facilities and 2 further large bathrooms. The kitchen has all the amenities you would wish for to enjoy your holiday. The spacious dining room and living room which opens out onto a veranda where you can dine alfresco over looking the pool and mature gardens. There is also a utility room and a large wet room with toilet downstairs.
We live in Sheffield and both lead very active lives. We have 2 daughters aged 28 and 32 and both of them and their partners absolutely love the villa and Uzumlu, hence they have been back several times since. I love Uzumlu not only for its magnificent views, but the culture and the locals who are just so friendly, nothing is too much for them - they all seem happy and relaxed with the simple way of life - something we tend to loose track off. We visit our villa as much as work will allow and every time we are there, we discover new and exciting places to visit and treasures to see. We also like to keep fit whilst on holiday and the village has some wonderful walks in the surrounding forests with old tombs to discover. Holidaying for us in Uzumlu is simply perfect!
In November 2007 we went to Turkey for the first time to a beautiful village called Uzumlu for a holiday. We instantly fell in love with the village as it had the most magical feel to it and after 3 days purchased the land our villa was built on. Villa Carlette is not just a holiday villa, but our second home where we have put a lot of time, love and energy in making it a lovely place to go for an holiday. We hope those who visit, will respect and enjoy their holiday in the villa. It stands proud in its own grounds with panoramic views all around. It is truly an amazing peaceful place and the locals are so kind and helpful. Like most people, my husband and I, lead very active lives and whenever we visit out villa, it only takes a day before we are truly relaxed - perfect holiday!
Villa Carlette is situated in the heart of Uzumlu and is convenient for the local Dolmus which takes you to surrounding areas, and is close to the village square where the small shops and restaurants are. The views from all around the villa are breathtaking and of an evening it turns once again into a magical place, as the deep blue skies are lit up with stars. You can sit on the veranda for hours just staring into the skies or sipping your favourite drink. The pool is also lit up in the evening, which creates a lovely ambiance. There are plenty of walks in and around the village with ancient tombs in the mountains. Our manager Tina who looks after the villa also offers medical healing hypnotherapy, metabolic therapy and Reiki (highly recommended).
'I would just like to say how much we enjoyed our Holiday in Uzumlu. The villa is everything you could ask for and very well equipped.' Irene and family, Worksop. 'Steven and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Villa Carlette. The villa is fabulous and set in an absolutely stunning location with 360 degree views of the mountains and all the facilities you could wish for in your home for the duration of your holiday.' Dawn and Steve, Ravenscarr. 'We have just returned from the most restful weeks holiday we have ever had.' What a fantastic setting, Villa Carlette is nestled at the foot of the mountains and set in totally peaceful and tranquil surroundings, beneath magnificent, clear blue skies. The villa itself is a very spacious and modern design, beautifully finished off, well equipped with every modern convenience. This is the real Turkey, no tourists, no tacky souvenir shops, no hassle, but be warned. You might never want to go home!' Ian and Jill Mosedale, Sheffield.
My wife, Anne, and I have just completed a 28 day holiday at Villa Carletta, we could not have wished for a better choice, faultless. The furnishings, bathroom quality fittings, kitchen equipment, bedroom furniture, outdoor furniture, all top quality and in good order. All bedrooms, kitchen, bathrooms were spacious and well designed, outdoors around the pool and patio area was also roomy so that if you wished you could "follow the sun" all day with your lounger. The village was great, several restaurants, mini markets etc. one even delivered to the Villa FOC, the "locals" were very friendly. There are several easy walking routes from the Villa, virtually traffic free, what a wonderful holiday ! Anne and Roger, June/July 2016
I came here with my mummy, grandparents and cousin in the summer. It was my first time abroad and I loved it. We played in the lovely clean pool and had some quiet time in the kusht when the heat got too much. The house was lovely and had everything we needed. We really enjoyed eating out in the village every night and can recommend the Winehouse, Cadianda, Park alya, the BBQ restaurant, Gulai's cafe in the square, not sure of the name and the restaurant above the toilets (sounds horrible but it's an experience). The village is very quaint and traditional and we enjoyed the peace. Everyone loved me and I got passed around and spoken to even though I couldn't understand what they said to me. We went to calis beach and got a water taxi to fethiye to the indoor market which my mum, gran and cousin loved because they could spend money. My grandpa enjoyed walking the short walk into the village and having a Turkish breakfast in the square and a shave at the barbers. The rest of the family have been to uzumlu before and say they won't go anywhere else now and my mums cousins have just relocated there from Wales. We would love to come back to Villa carlette this summer too. Thanks again from Brodie, aged 5months.
We visited Villa Carlette first week of June 2013 – our first holiday in Turkey. We have stayed in many villas over the years, but Villa Carlette is the cleanest and most comfortable villa we have ever stayed in. Very spacious and modern, with everything you will need to make your holiday comfortable.
The outside area is great, loads of space, and very clean - multiple sun beds and chairs. The private pool is fab, just the right size for a cooling dip, and makes you feel that you are doing some sort of exercise !
The area itself is extremely relaxing, very quiet and the village of Uzumlu has everything you need. Not many restaurants or bars, but enough to give you variety throughout your holiday. Uzumlu is situated up a mountain, surrounded by mountains and the surrounding area is very beautiful.
We hired a car at the airport, and found this really useful to visit the surrounding area, Fethiye is about 20 mins down the road.
Thank you Carl and Lenette for letting us stay in your gorgeous villa – I’ve recommended it to friends and family.
Caroline - Kent - 2013
10 minute drive to Calis beach and Fethiye. 20 minute drive to the blue lagoon - Oludeniz beach. Patara Beach 60 mins drive. Patara Beach which at 22km long is one of Turkeys longest beautiful beaches.
Dalaman airport. If you are wanting to travel around I would recommend car hire, which you can source in the village, although there is a dolmus service from centre of Uzumlu to all surrounding areas every hour.
Fethiye town is 12 mins drive. Oludeniz (blue lagoon) is 25 mins drive. Saklikent Gauge 50 mins drive. Dalyan 60 mins drive. Hisaronu 15 mins drive. Chalis Beach 12 mins drive.
Uzumlu (meaning place of grape) is famous for its local wine. There are several restaurants in the village, all of excellent quality and value for money. You will also find in the village square, the bakery, supermarket, barbers, post office, internet cafe and many more little shops scattered around. A street market is held in the village square every Friday. The nearest town is Fetihye which has all the attractions of the Mediterranean. The harbour and marina is boarded by palm tree promenades with ample bars and restaurants to choose from. The old part of Fethiye known as The Paspatur is lined with bars and restaurants offering excellent local and international cuisine. There is a maze of streets filled with shops offering the most wonderful treasures. A little further along the coast is Olu Deniz with beaches sweeping along for 3km into the world famous Blue Lagoon with crystal clear waters. Here you can indulge in water sports such as sailing, scuba diving, water rafting, paragliding - It is just paradise. Hisaronu is near to Olu Deniz and is much more livelier filled with shops, restaurants, late night bars and discos. Calis beach is about 10 mins away from Uzumlu and is famous for its stunning sunsets. The shingle beach sweeps round to a finer sandy beach where you can indulge in more water sports. This area is a new development and is very pretty. You can go on jeep safaris from Calis which takes you to Saklikent Gauge (2nd largest Canyon in Europe) truly breathtaking.
