The property is located in a small hamlet 2km south of Siorac on the Dordogne river in the centre of the most attractive part of this region of Aquitaine. Approximately midway between Bergerac and Sarlat. It is a quiet and private location opposite an 18 hole golf course with a 9 hole course close by. The village of Siorac has all the amenities for a holiday. The surround area has an attractive selection of Chateaux, Medieval villages and Towns, many restaurants, markets and activities. It is an ideal location to enjoy a peaceful relaxing holiday with easy access to an assortment of interesting places to visit and activities to pursue if required.
The property is owned by myself and my wife with a friend and his wife. My friend and I were at university together. We are both in the Building Industry. We purchased this derelict milking barn in 1991 as a project to restore an old building into a holiday property for our families. We use the property ourselves each year and a number of our friends and families have visited over the years. My wife and I celebrated our 20th and 25th wedding anniversaries here. It is an great place for gathering family and friends.

My wife and I and our 2 young daughters spent several summers touring and camping in France and Italy in the late 80`s. In 1991 My friend from University days suggested buying a property to renovate in France. As we had loved the Dordogne region so much this is where we looked. We decided on this property as it would provide a certain amount of independence as two houses but have a community feel so families and groups of friends could enjoy time together in comfort with plenty of facilities. Two kitchens are great when preparing meals for big groups.
The area itself is magnificent. It is steeped in history and tradition yet has all the modern amenities and facilities you need and have grown to expect on holiday.
The property is quite private but close to the local services.

The property is well equipped & makes self catering on holiday an enjoyment rather than a chore. The BBQ is a great attraction and social point; with the outside covered dining area meals can last for hours.
The pool & outside areas are illuminated so evenings can be spent outside. There are contrasts from front to rear of the property, the rear has the dining & the pools, the front has the grass & sports.
There is ample shade to both areas as it can be hot in the summer.
You can relax at the property, be active, use a bike for a tour around or venture further afield to an old Chateau, village or cave. Or even canoe on the river or play tennis. There are many traditional markets and a large selection of restaurants close by.

Enjoyed being sat out in the front under the shade of the trees on warm days. Golf club has a small bar which is within walking distance and in a lovely setting and is v reasonably priced on both food and drink
530 miles from Calais. Driving time subject to Paris, but averages 9 hours. Flight time 1 hour 20 mins from Southampton to Bergerac. Flights from London Airports, Manchester and other UK airports also available. 40 mins drive from Bergerac to Siorac. 2 hours + Bordeaux to Siorac. Car Hire is available at both Airports.
Siorac, 3 minutes, all daily needs. Sarlat 20 mins. Bergerac 40 mins.
The Golf Course also has a restaurant & bar which is only a short walking distance from the Barn.
Supermarket, Chemist, Bread, Clothes, Hardware, Garage, Tennis courts all in Siorac. Bank in St Cyprien 7 mins, Large number of Markets and restaurants in surrounding area.
Early Man remains and local history in Vezere valley to the north 20 mins.

A small deposit secures booking and balance due 6 weeks before arrival date.
Normal change over day is Saturday, but special requests will be considered. Arrival time after 4p.m and departure before 10 a.m but again special requests will be considered.
Notes on prices:
Prices are for the property per week in UK pounds. Long lets are negotiable. If one house is rented in mid or low season then the other remains empty so privacy is maintained. All prices are for one house except July and August.
Rates for the whole building outside the main season are as follows, Jan to March £1600, April to May £1,700, June and Sept 2,000, Oct to Dec £1,400.
