Special interest holidays:

Great for bird watchers as overlooks protected wetlands with uninterrupted views. Route Cami Clavell runs through Son Bou so is a big attraction for walkers, cyclists, horse riders etc.


Son Bou beach with it's glorious fine white/golden sand is the longest and generally acknowledged to be finest. It is 2km+ long is cleaned daily. There are life guard look out stations and a Red X depot. It is appx. 0.700m from villa and just an easy walk of 8-10 mins or 2 mins by car. There are various water sports, beach bars,padeloes. The protected wetlands in front of the beach with it's multitude of wild birdlife are overlooked by the villa. Great bird watching.


The only airport on the Island (Aeropuerto de Menorca) is 20km away. Port of Mao (18km away) and Port of Ciutadella 40km away have ferries that link the island with Barcelona and Palma de Mallorca. Car hire is desirable but not necessary. There is a regular bus service to Alaior and Mahon. Taxi's may be ordered from local town of Alaior.


The villa is appx 6 km from 3rd. largest town of Alaior and the capital Mao(Mahon) is appx.18 km. The old capital of Ciutadella is appx 40km. Golf is played in Son Park appx. 30-40 mins drive

All shopping and restaurants are within a few minutes easy walking distance. The shops are varied and include a total of 3 supermarkets, 2 pharmacies(one of each is situated at bottom of our road) Various ATM machines are available on the resort (one at bottom of our road). There are a variety of Restaurants and bars some of which have Sky Sports T.V. A 16 lane bowling alley, maze, and nightly entertainment are also a short walk away. The Club San Jaime has a water chute and pool with restaurant. There is a "fun train" to explore around immediate area.The ancient Talayotic Settlement of Torre d'en Galmes is only appx. 7 mins drive away and is of great interest to all with a penchant for pre historic interest. There is a regular bus service(bus stop is a few minutes easy walk from villa) to Mahon & Alaior during the season & connections can be made in Alaior to visit Ciudadella. The fantastic Son Bou beach is appx. 8-10 mins easy walk from villa and offers a variety of beach sports & 3 beach bars. It is possible to rent sun loungers and parasols. There is easy parking if you travel by car.

Popular with bird watchers, hikers and cyclists. A wonderful walk on the beach to Santa Thomas.

Notes on accommodation: At entrance level you will find the large airy lounge/dining room with vaulted ceiling and exposed beams. At one end there is a stone clad turret. The whole room has a triple aspect & large glazed doors lead to the covered and open balconies with magnificent views. There are quality soft furnishings and traditional Spanish furniture, walls are decorated with genuine rustic Spanish artifice. The top level kitchen also has a vaulted ceiling with exposed beams & has recently been refurbished to a excellent standard with every modern appliance. Adjacent is the comprehensive utility room offering an additional stainless steel sink, washing machine and separate tumbler dryer. All bedrooms have air con.& ceiling fans 2 have covered balconies with sea views. Bathrooms are all refurbished to a high standard. 2nd kitchen is at ground level & available to all. This villa is overall a truly very unique experience,this is a home with a soul not the usual sterile holiday let so often offered. Outside: Lush Mediterranean garden surround the private pool that measure 9x4 with additional large & separated toddler pool area. The garden has night time lighting to enhance it's nocturnal beauty. Poolside w/c & basin & separate pool shower. Poolside/annexe kitchen is modern, high quality & fully equipped for 10 people. Balconies or terraces are on every floor of villa & are both open and covered. Plenty of sunloungers, tables, chairs & parasols to sit, eat,drink and enjoy the stunning views. Both double bedrooms have covered balconies that provide garden, pool and sea views, others have garden views. There are 2 mobile B.B.Q's (coal & gas) Beach towels may be hired from Management. The access to the villa is from road level and without steps.The road outside the villa is well lit, one way & quiet. It is not a main road. Neighbouring villas are all of high quality. The short walk (appx. 4-5 mins) to shops, bars, restaurants etc. is easy & without steep hills or staircases to negotiate. Utility Room: Adjacent to kitchen Fridge/freezer. Stainless steel sink. Washing machine, tumble dryer, iron & ironing board, granite worktop,broom cupboard. Leads to small pretty outside courtyard for drying. High wrought iron gate for extra security. Toddler friendly. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: For stays longer than a week towels & linens will be changed once & there will be light cleaning of general areas Extra maid service arranged for cash payment. Beach/extra towels for hire. COMPLIMENTARY CLEANING PACK, & 1 x 5 LITRE WATER ON ARRIVAL. The villa is ideal for young families, it has all the facilities like home but much more

It is situated in an ideal place, out of the busy town centre but only 5 minutes walk away. There is ample parking outside the villa if you want to hire a car.

We were a party of 6 adults and 3 children, 6 year old, 1 year old and a 3 month baby. There were child gates at every stairway, including outside! Having 2 kitchens was great, it saved having to keep on running up and down the stairs!! The pool area was fantastic, plenty of room for the sun beds and the baby pool was used regularly by the little ones. Lovely and clean and had everything you needed for a self catering holiday.

Would highly recommend the villa.

Comfortable villa suitable for three generations with stunning views.

Our family of nine covering three generations had a wonderful week in this villa in the last week of May. The self contained annex was well worth hiring along with the main villa to give a bit of 'space' to the grandparents in the party. Children loved the pool. Stunning views from the balconies. Villa was well equipped and comfortable with the feeling of a family home. Only 10 minute walk to beach but part of that beach has a nudist area!

A great villa for family holidays

We had a party of 6 with ages ranging from 2 - 70! and found that the villa provided everything that was required . We have had quite a few holidays in Son Bou, as a family we really love this area. Like other holiday makers we find a villa holiday the best, and this villa is the Best. It is like home from home with every piece of equipment you could need, from a well stocked medicine cabinet to a coffee maker!

Both kitchens are equally stocked and pristine. We do intend to come again - our daughter insists! and we will take advantage of the annex so that extra family can come.

The views are amazing and the location is just perfect for walking to local shops , restaurants and of course the beach.

Margaret is the most helpful owner we have dealt with, and made the booking hassle free.Patricia D.

magnificent margarita

This was our second visit to the wonderful villa margarita.

We went in June last year, 4 adults & 3children aged 13, 10 & 7. We all agreed it was an amazing experience and just had to return. The villa is so spacious, spotless and has everything any group of people could wish for. The children(and us) loved the good sized pool, garden is well planted and mature, and the views from the upper floors are stunning overlooking the nature reserve and Son Bou beach. Also a kiddies pool for the little ones with plenty of inflatables available.

Myself and the wife used the annexe which was equipped to a high standard & air con in living room & bedroom. We thought we would give the younger ones a bit of space, but there was no need as we could have have stayed on the upper levels and still have ample room in any of the 4 bedrooms, the space and rooms where outstanding.

Dining at night ,sometimes with the barbeque

was a joy , with the pool and garden lights on , loking out over the views is something we will treasure. Son Bou it self is not to commercialised but has a good selection of bars and resaurants and plenty of things to keep the children happy. but to be honest to was not easy at times to get them away from the villa.

The owner Margaret is so helpful with information and details , she was a pleasure to deal with as nothing was to much trouble.

We had decided several years ago that villas are the best way to enjoy our holidays and have been to other destinations throughout europe (5 times to Menorca). Villa Margarita was very very special and would recommend

it, you will be amazed.

Owner's Response: Harry and family are extremely discerning people as have had several other experiences in villa hire...they regard our villa as a home from home, lots of comfort and plenty of room both inside and out.. It's always a good sign when the children prefer to stay at the villa in preference to being 'entertained'...Adult members can then totally relax either on one of the balconies or surrounded by a romantic garden full of exotic Mediterranean flora. The stunning sunsets complete the scene. It is always good to help our visitors with their holiday plans, I am happy to have a phone call or e-mail contact. When booking all clients will receive plenty of written details to digest!

An amazing family holiday. The villa was beautiful and clean, with everything you could ever need! We hope to return one day, and we cannot recommend the villa highly enough for a truly relaxing family holiday. The car hire company recommended (Amber) were also fantastic. A great stress free holiday!
