2 min. walk to lift, well equipped, self catering apartment in a privately owned block. It is south facing with stunning views of the mountain and main ski area from the bedroom, lounge and balcony. It is situated just outside the main centre of La Grande Terche with great restaurants and bars, run by friendly folk right on the doorstep. The ski area is served by one main gondola and tends to be quieter than the close by resorts of Morzine, Les Gets and Avoriaz. There is plenty of skiing for one week on this home resort for a beginner or intermediate, ski kindergarten of over 3's is 1 minutes walk away(recommended), the other resorts are only 15 minutes drive away and offer a vast ski area with some more challenging runs.
I have just returned from the property having spent a short 4 night break in St. Jean D'Aulps. The property is in a nice quiet location, you can see the ski gondola from the balcony. Although we didn't ski the local area it is perfectly placed for Morzine/Avoriaz (10 mins) and Les Gets (15 mins). I have however skied the local area before this trip and the apartment is perfectly located for that.
The apartment is cosy, warm and ideal for a few people. It sleeps 6 but I think that would be a struggle at meal times personally - there were 3 of us (1 child) and it was ideal. The shower was good and the water hot, ideal after a hard day on the snow. The Apartment is in easy walking distance of local bars and restaurants/shops. The kitchenette is basic but does the job and there are plenty of plates/cutlery/cups etc. For shopping there is a local store 5 minutes walk, we however drove 5 minutes to the bigger Carrefour on the way to Morzine.
To be honest for the money I can't fault the apartment, it's in a perfect location, quiet, clean and comfortable. Keith the owner was very helpful throughout the whole thing and I would definitely consider using the apartment again in the future.
If you want a well-priced, well equipped, small but homely place to chill and relax, I would recommend this apartment. Keith was really helpful in directing us to it and, on arriving, we found that it was a great little resort with all the amenities you could need, You can walk to the Main Gondola in under a minute, it has local bars and a wee supermarket you can get most groceries (inc. Belgian Beer..... nuff said). The accommodation is clean, tidy and affords great views out over the Morzine Valley. We stayed with our 2 and 4 year old who loved being in the bunk beds, while we loved the privacy to chill out on a night in the separate living space. We cooked every night and it was fine for space to do this and dine together. I may add that this gem of a find comes with a very select range of DVD's and Videos (remember them). Joking aside, it was a welcome novelty which only reinforced my love for this wee spot in France. Sleeps 4 or 6 at a push. Ski on your doorstep or only 10 mins drive to Morzine. Bravo Keith! Car hire is recommended from the French side of Geneva airport. The drive from Geneva takes 1.5 hours. It is a 500 mile drive from the port of Calais.

Evian, spa town 30km.
Yvoire, medieval town 40km.
There is a small supermarket in the Grande Terche area approximately 3 minutes walk away, open day time hours, and an 8-8 in the main village of St. Jean D'Aulps. There are several good restaurants/bars with in walking distance of the apartment.
