4-bed 2-bath maisonette in Keswick offering modern and comfortable accommodation
Crandy Nook, built in 1891 of traditional lakeland stone, is a fabulous 4 bedroom maisonette converted to an exceptional standard in 2007. Centrally located in the popular market town of Keswick, the views of Skiddaw, Walla Crag, Castlehead Wood and over the rooftops towards Bassenthwaite, Skiddaw and Whinlatter Forest, from the lounge and kitchen are simply stunning.
Crandy Nook is set over 3 floors above a coffee shop. On the top floor, with vaulted ceiling, the open plan lounge and kitchen diner is a cosy haven in which to relax and socialise. The contemporary kitchen is very well equipped with induction hob and granite work surfaces.
There are 2 bedrooms and 2 luxury bathrooms on each of the other 2 floors.
The accommodation is currently being assessed by Visit England.
Keswick is an all year round popular destination on the shores of Derwentwater. This friendly town hosts the twice-weekly market that has recently won the coveted "Best Outdoor Market" in the Great British Market Awards.
There is something for everyone. Activities include a variety of water sports, wall climbing, paragliding and swimming. Go Ape and mountain biking are in nearby Whinlatter Forest. Keswick also offers two large public parks which offer games facilities in open, wooded and garden settings. Other facilities include a new sports hall, leisure pool, cinema, golf, cycle hire and fishing. Why not try the 400-seat Theatre on the Lake or a cruise on Derwentwater.
You are spoilt for choice for walking either by using Keswick as a base or taking day trips to Ullswater, Crummock Water and Buttermere or further afield, the South Lakes. Personal favourites are Scafell Like, the Borrowdale Valley, Latrigg and the walk around the shores of Derwentwater. Those more adventurous, will head for Sharp edge on Blencathra.
The holiday cost includes 2 parking permits for use in Keswick's 3 long-stay car parks.
We welcome one well behaved dog. For infants, we provide a travel cot (but not bedding) and a high chair.
Changeover days are Friday for weekly or weekend breaks or Monday for weekday breaks.

About Anthony & Lorna
We live in the North East of England. Both our boys are at university. I work full-time for a leisure company, my wife is a self-employed holistic therapist. Our spare time is spent enjoying the beauty of the Lake District and one day we hope to move there.
Anthony & Lorna purchased this Apartment in 2007
Why Anthony & Lorna chose Copeland District
We purchased Crandy Nook (the building is actually Grandy Nook but is affectionately known to us otherwise) in 2007 and chose the property for its location, the high quality conversion (it's a Victorian property) and the stunning views from the top floor. Keswick is popular all year round and has a certain aura. The property is in the centre of town, a few minutes walk from the Moot Hall, from where many of the local walks begin. There is a wealth of good pubs and restaurants nearby.
What makes this Apartment unique
The views of Skiddaw and Whinlatter Forest across the Keswick rooftops from one window, Walla Crag and Castlehead from another, are simply stunning. Latrigg is visible from the main bedroom bay window. We love the walking especially the Borrowdale Valley (check out Castle Crag) and the west shore of Derwentwater (Cat Bells and the lower level walks either side) and cycling.

Property in keswick
Very comfortable and clean, good location and dog friendly, was very well equipped had everything we needed, would recommend to friends and family, would definitely stay again.
Thank you for your kind comments. We do hope to welcome you back in the future.
Great location & very spacious
Beautiful holiday home in central Keswick
Beautifully appointed and stylishly furnished maisonette. Fantastic views. Everything you could want for your holiday. We liked it very much and the owners provide very good instructions and information on everything. The only reason we would not return is that the stairs were rather too much for our old border collie and we had to keep carrying her up and down! The only downside was the street outside tended to be rather noisy on Saturday night.
Clean & modern with plenty of room
Perfect second stay ay Crandy Nook which is in the centre of Keswick so you have everything on your doorstep. The kitchen is extremely well equiped & had everything we needed to prepare & cook, a really good size table to fit six comfortably. The property is down a cobbled ally which is poorly lit at night, this was no problem for us as we were six fit adults. I would stay at Crandy Nook again.
Thank you for your kind comments and we look forward to welcoming you back in the future.
Very complete apartment, very central in Keswick. Perfect for a week-end or longer.
The apartment is very nice and clean and has everything you need for a luxury stay for 7 people. If you like to stay in the town center of Keswick, I can definitely recommend it.
Thank you for recommending the accommodation. We are delighted you had an enjoyable stay.
Very spacious and great views
