Our two luxury gites, Oriole and Rossignol, are set in a peaceful, rural location & have been created from a barn adjoining our house. They are a 10 minute drive from the market town of Realmont and 20 minutes from Albi, the capital of the Tarn. Realmont has a lovely market, shops, cafes and a number of good restaurants. The wine region Gaillac is only 30 minutes away with Toulouse Blagnac airport is just over an hour away. Please contact me directly at email@example.com
I live in England with my husband and daughter near to the Spa town of Tunbridge Wells. We have always loved holidaying in France and it has been our dream to spend more time in this wonderful country and to own a French property.
ALISON SHIELS purchased this cottage in 2006
We bought the house nine years ago to spend more time with Gary's sister and her family who live near to Lautrec. They look after Champagnol when we are not there and the beautiful gardens are down to all their hard work! We like the area as there is so much to see and do yet it hasn't been spoilt by too many tourists visiting the area. Carcassone, Cordes-sur-ciel, Roquefort (the famous cheese) Millau Bridge and the vineyards of Gaillac are all easily accessible.
The Gites are on a no through road yet close enough to the main road to make it very easy to get into Realmont or Albi for their markets, cafes, shops and wonderful restaurants.
Calais - 620 miles, with the vast majority on autoroute. Toulouse Blagnac airport is just over an hour away, Rodez airport (Ryan Air) an hour and a quarter and Carcassonne airport an hour and a half away. A car is essential.
Realmont 10 minutes. Albi 20 minutes. Castres 30 minutes. Cordes sur Ciel 50 minutes. Toulouse 1 hour. Carcassonne 1 hour 30 minutes. Millau Bridge 1 hour 30 minutes.
The gites are loctaed in a small hamlet 7 miles from the picturesque market town of Realmont where there is a weekly market, excellent restaurants, a wide range of serices and shops. Albi, the capital of the Tarn is only 14 miles away with its magnificant cathedral overlooking the famous Toulouse Lautrec museum, with numerous shops, restaurants and cafes. The Gaillac wine region is also very close where you can visit numerous vineyards for wine tastings and buying.
There is plenty to see and do in the area including golf, swimming and pedlalos at a local lake and the countryside is also very popular for walkers and cyclists..
