As soon as you enter this lovely coastal home you will instantly feel at ease. After you have settled yourself in you may want to stroll along the wide sandy beach and look out towards Longstone lighthouse, or explore the rockpools when the tide is out. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking hearty meals to share with family and friends but if you prefer to treat yourselves then we can arrange for one of the chefs from the Alnwick Tree House to come and cook you a meal at home ( menus on request ) or he can leave you a meal in the fridge ready to heat and enjoy ! Why not book a treatment at the Sanctuary Spa or the Ocean Club in Seahouses and then come home and cosy up in front of our wood burning stove .Teenagers may want to hide in their own chill /games room (when hiring annexe) . Perfect place in all seasons to get back to nature and re-charge those batteries. . All ingredients provided for quality time and memories to treasure. Just add family and friends! Happy Days!
Mad, loud family of five, mixed interests and needs so this suits all. Matt kitesurfs, landboards and the kids and myself chill out, body surf and just have fun. The detached home means that we can be ourselves and be as free as we like. Perfect.!
Rachel stockwell allen purchased this bungalow in 2009
Fell totally in love with this area and coast two years ago after booking a break like this one. Wild, rugged unspoiled, friendly and worry free, that's how we see this place - Love it.
This is a delightful spacious holiday home right next to Seahouses beach. The owner has thought of everything and you will want for nothing during your stay.
There are 4 spacious bedrooms two of which are ensuite. The beds are very comfortable and linens and towels are provided.
The lounge is ginormous with the added bonus of a log burning stove.
The home is very clean and tastefully furnished and I will be recommending it to my friends and I will be booking another break soon
A weekend break for my 40th birthday celebration - 8 ladies shared this beautiful property for 2 nights. First impressions - it's on a housing estate !!! eek! Step inside this detached (huge) bungalow and wow! You forget the housing estate immediately. Hall way is a great size for unloading everything from the 3 cars we parked on the drive way. Kitchen off the hallway, looking out to rear decking with table and chairs and farmers fields beyond. The kitchen table seats 6, we added other chairs to allow all 8 of us to eat together. Masses of plates, bowls, cutlery, pans, oven-ware, utensils, glasses, even a couple dishwasher tablets.
Kitchen leads into living room - very spacious with a 4 seater sofa, a 3 seater and a pouffe thingy. Plenty of books, DVDs, games, to keep you going and plenty of space to do it in. Huge coffee table for games or nibbles. Very comfortable. Spotlessly clean - Home from Home House keeping certainly do their job.
Pleased we had the annexe too - great to have a second sitting room and the wet room is absolutely ideal.
All beds were (so I'm told) incredibly comfortable. Bedding and furnishings were of a very high standard throughout.
Friday night - it's 20 mins walk into Seahouses, but we called a cab. There are only a few taxis so either book early or be prepared to wait.
Went for Italian at Insieme - great food, great service, and then a couple of
drinks at The Schooner. Taxi back home.
Saturday - a wander around the many shops and along the short pier, avoiding the seagulls. Fish and Chips at Neptunes - Mmmm!!!
Saturday night we bought nibbles, pizzas etc and enjoyed home comforts. Unfortunately, we ran out of loo roll (oh no!) and called Rachel the housekeeper for help - we'd all had a glass of wine by then and it was freezing outside so we were reluctant to walk (20 mins) into seahouses centre to the co-op. Rachel was incredibly accommodating and popped over with supplies, we left some money to replace then - it is self catering and we should have brought our own (initial supplies were available - 2 per loo) but we didn't think about that. Thanks Rachel!!
All in all - a beautiful house, very clean, very comfortable, a great base to explore the NE coast line and up into the borders. The house has everything you could possibly need, just don't forget the loo-roll.
I would definitely book this house again - either with a group of girls or family.
There was 7 woman staying in the house, and loved it. Absolutely lovely house, spacious and the decor has a real beach hut feel. Great location too. Rachel was on hand if needed which was good to know, and the owner was more than accommodating with the booking. Couldn't recommend this property enough!!
This cottage was booked as a surprise birthday present by my two daughters. The location is perfect for both the beach and a short walk into Seahouses. The cottage is massive and is ideal for a large group and would strongly recommend it.
This was for a whole family holiday and for the grandchildren to enjoy the miles of gorgeous beach, just across the road. The house had everything we needed, very well equipped, great space and beautifully decorated. All on one level and a great shower room. Safe enclosed gardens
for children and pets and overlooking fields behind. Rachel who is on call should you need her, was lovely and more than helpful with her local knowledge. Very restful ! A week was not long enough in this gorgeous property.
We chose this property for a large family weekend get together (7 adults and baby). This single storey property has a very large and spacious footprint. We had mixed weather so even when stuck indoors we never felt we were getting under each other's feet. The owner has provided just about everything to cater for poor weather. However, it's location is ideal for walking into Seahouses, down to the beach and for coastal, as well as country, walks. We enjoyed a beautiful evening BBQ in the south facing garden, with newly born lambs in the adjacent field. A great place for a break.
