About the property

Villa in Begur, Costa Brava - Peaceful Location. Walk to the Village of Begur and Bay of Sa Tuna

Villa La Veleta has classic Mediterranean architecture on two levels and a stone tower. Large French windows from the living room, dining room and kitchen allow plenty of light and panoramic views of the sea. A wide terrace for dining and relaxing wraps around two sides of the villa.

Three bedrooms and three baths are on the lower level. Patio doors open onto a terrace with access to the garden and pool.

An additional single bed is in the tower.

The large and private garden has mature plants, a lawn, and a private pool with tiled surround, Roman stairs, and lounge chairs. A marked hiking path just outside the gate leads up to Begur (10 min. walk) or down to Sa Tuna Bay (20 min. walk). Several nearby beaches including Sa Tuna, Sa Riera, and Aiguablava have sheltered coves, beach side restaurants, breathtaking views, and numerous walking trails.

About Denise Germer

Our family loves to travel and we especially love Spain. We rented a villa near Begur on the Costa Brava many years ago and fell in love with the landscape, beaches, food, wine, and people. We also fell in love with the villa. After returning to Begur several times, we had an opportunity to buy the first villa we had rented. We hope that you will enjoy your stay in comfort and happiness.

Denise Germer purchased this house in 2009

Why Denise Germer chose Baix Emporda

After traveling all over Spain for work and pleasure, we rented this property back in 2002 and loved it best. We came back in 2008 and found it for sale. Since then, we have made several improvements and enjoy exploring more every time we are at home in Begur.

What makes this house unique

Our villa has a quiet location, but still walking distance to the village without being on the road. We are hikers and love the trails. We also like our sunny private pool, the incredible views from all over the house, and the large and mature garden.

Many guests have told us that one of the reasons they loved the house is that it looks and feels like a real home with decoration and amenities for a proper stay rather than just another holiday rental property.

Guestbook comments from the owner

"We had a fantastic week here at Villa La Veleta. Your villa is a wonderful combination of original charm and contemporary additions. We were very impressed with how well equipped the house is! The gardens and views are gorgeous. Our boys enjoyed the pool and a few golf courses. We love this area and hope to be back soon." Sheena and Clive, Alex and Sarah.

"The kitchen was perfectly equipped. We had everything we wanted and needed for our holiday. We would recommend the villa to anyone wanting to take a holiday in this beautiful area of Spain." Ruth and Luigi.

"The quality of the property, the views, etc. were all fantastic. The new furniture and kitchen all look great. We would love to return and we would definitely recommend the villa to friends and family." Christina and Buster.

Notes:
Notes on accommodation: This villa has a wonderful location for all times of the year. Its proximity to the village and beach allows for the freedom of walking or driving. A fireplace and central heating make the villa comfortable in winter. We have a new kitchen and several updates as of this Spring. Outside: A large garden of mature trees and plants surrounds the villa. 3 terraces on different levels offer sun, shade, magnificent views, and great places to dine and relax. Indoor and outdoor stairways connect the two main levels. The private pool has a tiled surround with lounge chairs and Roman stairs. There is a lawn area where children can play. Utility Room: A washing machine and dryer are located on the lower level. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen included. Villa cleaned before arrival and after departure. Extra cleaning and linens may be arranged for an additional charge. Other: We have just added an en-suite bathroom to bedroom one, a sitting room with a sofa bed to bedroom 3 and enlarged the terrace to include a shaded dining area. All was complete to a very high standard by March 31 of 2013.

Fantastic property with amazing views

  • 5 of 5

A fantastic villa with amazing views. Very spacious property with an exceptionally well stocked kitchen. Denise and family have certainly made it feel like a real home making it a great place to go for a relaxing holiday. There is plenty to see and do in the surrounding area with pretty bays nearby & the town of Begur just a 15 minute walk which has some great restaurants & plenty of history. I would definately recommend this property.

Amazing property!! Perfect location!

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely loved our week at the villa. It was just as it was described. The private pool was enjoyed by our whole group. We had 6 adults and 1 toddler and it was perfect. Begur is the perfect town. Great shopping, food (the best gelato) and prices. We would definitely come back to the Villa!!

Absolutely beautiful spot with breathtaking views

  • 5 of 5

As a family with boys aged 14 and 11, the location of the villa was superb. With plenty of fun for them in the pool and garden and the breathtaking views for us, we were all happy. Walking into Begur in the evenings was lovely and the perfect distance - only 15-20 mins. Snorkling at Sa Tuna, the Beach at El Castle and ceramics at La Bisbal and much more in the area made it a fantastic week. The only minor downside was noise from the road - but we didn't mind as the proximity to the centre of Begur and the beautiful villa gardens more than compensated for this.
