My family and I had an amazing week at this cottage. It had everything. It was an awesome location with a private beach that my kids enjoyed. I would definitely recommend this for any young family.

1st time renting any kind of vacation home. Wife and 4 year old twins, desperately needing a little down time. The Fleming property was a perfect 4 days! Upon arrival, the property was immaculate- clean, organized and everything functional. Pretty much everything we needed (except food) was provided- plenty of toys for the kids, beach chairs, boats, fishing rods, dishes/pots and pans... power went out the 1st night- there were even flashlights in every room and a coleman lantern (with gas!) to provide!

Really lucked out finding this place and hope to start a tradition with the kids of returning every year!

This is a great cottage in a super location on the lake. It was extremely clean and orderly. The Flemings have thought of everything to make the stay fun and enjoyable for all ages. We appreciated the great accommodations. We loved the big porch; it was great for our grandchildren, ages one and two. We enjoyed having breakfast and dinner on the porch everyday! The beach is great; close to the cottage and great for little ones. I already miss sitting on the beach having my morning coffee! We had a great family week together. Everyone loved the cottage; we spent everyday there ~ fishing, kayaking, boating, swimming, and just being in the NH woods! Great place ~ no need to leave to go anywhere else! We're already hoping to staying there again next summer! Thank you Fleming Family!

Loved it!!

We had an amazing week at the cottage- the weather was cooler in the beginning of the week- there were waves on the lake and the dock was a bit rocky, and then by the end it was perfect (hot in town, but nice at the property). The kids (ages 6 and 3) loved the house, the lake, the little bridge, the swing. The house is not huge- but great for us. There are a lot of huge houses on the lake that I am sure have gourmet kitchens and hot tubs- but we liked the rustic-ness of this house. In the mornings- my husband and I took turns going for a 2 mile run (down the street, past the little beach area, down the road to the other end and back) every morning. Then we would jump in the lake with the kids. In the evenings we took the canoe out and explored the area.

The kitchen is small, but adequate and well equiped. We brought some of our favorite pans and kitchen tools though. The porch was so nice- we spent a lot of time there, playing games (they have games under the tv that we didn't notice until later in the week). There was wifi! which was great because the AT&T service was terrible/non-existent. There was a washer and dryer (very helpful). The house was clean and well maintained.

As far as nearby activities- we went to Jays in Alton (cute mini-golf, terrible soft serve ice cream); Bailey's Bubble in Wolfboro (awesome ice cream- highly recommend!), Kellerhaus in Weirs Beach (eh. The make your own sundaes weren't that great- was expecting tons of toppings- not so much- and Weirs beach was full of tacky arcades). Can you tell we like ice cream??

We also went and climbed Mt. Major which is across the lake, past Alton. It took us 3 hours- we underestimated the hike with 2 little ones, but they were able to do it. And I had cell reception up there!

Overall, we had a great experience and have already reserved our spot for next summer. It was a very relaxing and low key vacation- which is exactly what I wanted. The kids cannot wait to go back and we were all so sad to leave.

very special place

30+yrs ago I spent every summer here as a child. My family...aunts and uncles and my parents... would rent consecutive weeks. The best childhood summers EVER!! BUt...We had moved to Long Island when I was 11 and we didn't go there anymore. YEARS later, we have all moved back to NH and just found out they are still renting. OMG!!! I can't express how excited I am. Not only is this a BEAUTIFIL place, the memories I have will be lived again. And now that we have our own kids, we can share this treasure and make new memories.

This is our forth year coming to this cottage and we will continue to make this our annual summer vacation destination. It is always immaculate and the TLC of the cottage, its surroundings and amenities make it a pleasure to unwind, relax and spend time as a family together. Our family ranges from 10 to 80 and there is something here for each of us! Our kids love to explore the stream where they get up close with nature and wildlife. We all enjoy the water and sun, but there is plenty of shade for Grampy for rest, read and playing games together with the family.
