Runswick Bay Cottage With Great Sea Views In An Unspoilt Bay - with WiFi

Bedrooms 2
Property type cottage
Minimum Stay 3 - 7 nights

About the property

Cottage in Runswick Bay Nr. Whitby, North Yorkshire, England - Stunning Views, 2 Minute Walk to Beach, Pub and Cafe

Cottage with great sea views in unspoilt bay, sheltered by the north winds by Lingrow Knowle. Stunning views, 2 minute walk to beach, pub and cafe. At the front of the cottage there is a veranda with table and chairs with one of the best views in the village. Runwick Bay was a former fishing village on the north east coast. It is a pretty village with lots of white washed cottages and a lot of charm.

About Beverley Brook

We used to visit Runswick Bay on a regular basis before we bought the cottage and would dream about the possibility of buying a small house there. Eventually we took the leap and basically have never looked back. This cottage has given us real quality time together. We will still be using the cottage in between lets.

Why Beverley Brook chose Yorkshire Moors and Coast

There is Runswick Bay - in the bay itself and Runswick Bay at the top of the hill (with no sea views and a difficult hill to treck up and down). We are in the Bay with fantastic sea views. You will want to be in the bay.

Guestbook comments from the owner

25 Oct 2014 We have had a fantastic week which began from the moment we arrived. Absolutely brilliant cottage. Views are amazing (even more so at dawn and dusk sitting outside with that view and only the sounds of the birds and the waves.....

9 Nov 2014 What an absolute delight to stay here. It's been better than expected. Total relaxation. Everything had been done to make the cottage so complete. The views are total perfection. We will be returning. Thank you for sharing this wonderful place.

Two minutes walk to the beach. The beach is a sandy bay and very safe for swimming.

Runswick Bay lies between the coastal villages of Staithes and Sandsend. - Staithes (10 minutes), Sandsend (15 minutes) the lively town of Whitby (20 minutes) and the historic fishing village of Robin Hoods Bay (30 minutes) - by car. If you want to go a bit further Scarborough is worth a visit. The Yorkshire moors are also very nearby and Steam Trains running from Grosmont.

Further Details:

Parking - We provide a private residents parking pass which will enable you to park your car free of charge. This car park is only a couple of minutes from the Cottage.

Some secrets should remain so... Top Gallant and Runswick Bay is one of them. ;)

Yes it rained, but that only added to the magic and drama of Runswick Bay, and the views which Top Gallant offered. Personally, I feel those who stay at this cottage should sign a covenant of secrecy, on account, too many good reviews will make it popular and then it shall be a race to book a week of pure bliss. Owner's Response: Ha, love it. Not too much of a secret though please. There are always bills that need paying. Beverley x

Does exactly what it says on the tin!

We arrived to find an exceptionally clean and very comfortable cottage with amazing views over Runswick bay. It was very clear to us that this wasn't just a holiday let but a much loved 'home' - first class furniture, fittings and lovely little homely touches throughout. We found the information pack for guests particularly helpful as it explained, very simply, how everything worked as well as some interesting places to visit - ( we loved the pub at Beck Hole!) Even though it was Oct we were blessed with good weather so went out walking every day. But, the cottage is in such a lovely, tranquil location it is equally perfect for those that would rather just stay home, relax and enjoy the view. Thank you very much for your hospitality.

A little piece of Heaven

  • 5 of 5

The cottage was warm, cosy, clean and welcoming. Amazing views.

Loved the welcome Prosecco which went down well with fish and chips on the terrace.

Crab sandwiches available in the village pub but watch out for the gammon steaks ( they are huge). Alternatively you can get takeaway sandwiches from the cafe on the beach and take them back to eat with a sea view from the terrace.

Meals at the Ellerby and Cliffmount Hotel (at the top of the village) were excellent.

This is the place if you are looking for rest and relaxation. To be honest we would like to keep this a secret but this place deserves an excellent write up!

Our hidden gem!

  • 5 of 5

Although not our first stay at Runswick Bay, it was our first stay at Top Gallant and certainly wont be our last! Lovely, little, cosy quirky cottage with fabulous views from the balcony and bedroom window. Waking up to the magnificent view from the huge bay window was a delight, so much so, i didn't sleep well as i didn't want to close the shutters on it and as it was beginning of July it was practically light all night! Absolutely gutted to come home, and Bev welcomes you with a bottle of Prosecco and 2 champagne glasses! Wonderful! Can't wait to go back! It's our hidden gem.
