Cottage in Runswick Bay Nr. Whitby, North Yorkshire, England - Stunning Views, 2 Minute Walk to Beach, Pub and Cafe
Cottage with great sea views in unspoilt bay, sheltered by the north winds by Lingrow Knowle. It has stunning views, 2 minute walk to beach, pub and cafe. At the front of the cottage there is a veranda with table and chairs with one of the best views in the village. Runwick Bay was a former fishing village on the north east coast. It is a pretty village with white washed cottages and a lot of charm.

About Beverley Brook
We used to visit Runswick Bay on a regular basis before we bought the cottage and would dream about the possibility of buying a small house there. Eventually we took the leap and basically have never looked back. This cottage has given us real quality time together. We will still be using the cottage in between lets.
Why Beverley Brook chose Scarborough District
There is Runswick Bay - in the bay itself and Runswick Bay at the top of the hill (with no sea views and a difficult hill to treck up and down). We are in the Bay with fantastic sea views. You will want to be in the bay.

Some secrets should remain so... Top Gallant and Runswick Bay is one of them. ;)
Yes it rained, but that only added to the magic and drama of Runswick Bay, and the views which Top Gallant offered. Personally, I feel those who stay at this cottage should sign a covenant of secrecy, on account, too many good reviews will make it popular and then it shall be a race to book a week of pure bliss. Ha, love it. Not too much of a secret though please. There are always bills that need paying.
Wonderful cottage with glorious views.
A really lovely place to stay. The cottage is very clean and has everything you need or would want. Beautifully decorated and furnished. Very comfy bed with beautiful linen and a spectacular view. Everything has been thought of to make your stay perfect. Perched there on the cliff the cluster of houses in the bay has a particular charm and I can imagine we will return many times. The walk up and down the little lanes and steps to the house, (several times a day in our case), is a nice little workout!
Cottage is compact but perfect with exceptional attention to detail and was ideal for the two of us.
The pub is just a short walk away with great staff and you can enjoy a drink and a good meal.
Excellent stretch of beach with rock pools and great if you like fossil hunting!
While we were there contractors were working on coastal protection putting rock armour in to help prevent erosion. It was quite noisy and a bit of a shock when they started work at 3.30am but they have to work with the tides and if they weren't carrying out this work we wouldn't have this delightful cottage available to enjoy. It didn't bother us as we were so relaxed by then we just fell straight back to sleep.
Anyway an absolutely perfect week for us in a perfect cottage in a perfect bay. Sorry but we won't be telling our friends how wonderful it is. We are keeping it a secret because once it is out everyone wiil be wanting this little piece of heaven. Thank you for everything. David & Tina, Etal, Northumberland
Relaxing Cottage with amazing views!
We had a lovely holiday, plenty of walks : including coastal, beach and around the Bay.
We also visited Staithes, Whitby, Robin Hoods Bay and Sandend : all of which were enjoyable ( we made good use of the Wifi in the cottage to plan destinations ).
Fabulous cottage, wonderful views, well equipped
We loved every bit of the cottage and it’s position. Very thoughtfully renovated, presented and stocked. It’s quirky and compact, we loved the underfloor heating in the bathroom, the cloud like bedding and the view over the bay. The spiral staircase to the bedrooms kept us on our toes as did the steps up to the front door, things to be aware of if you pick this cottage and you should if you can - highly recommended - five stars without a doubt. You can watch the tide and pick your time to go out and fossil hunt, rock pool or see how far you can walk on the beach before the lovely pub calls!
A lovely weekend away
Lovely cottage, beautiful views and all very well organised - thank you! We'd love to go again.
Wonderful environment to spend a holiday
Lovely cottage very well presented and comfortable
Two minutes walk to the beach. The beach is a sandy bay and very safe for swimming.
Runswick Bay lies between the coastal villages of Staithes and Sandsend. - Staithes (10 minutes), Sandsend (15 minutes) the lively town of Whitby (20 minutes) and the historic fishing village of Robin Hoods Bay (30 minutes) - by car. If you want to go a bit further Scarborough is worth a visit. The Yorkshire moors are also very nearby and Steam Trains running from Grosmont.
Parking - We provide a private residents parking pass which will enable you to park your car free of charge. This car park is only a couple of minutes from the Cottage.
