Unforgettable family week at beautiful Villa Kitrini!
My multigenerational family of 10, ages 77 to 3 months, had a spectacular week at Villa Kitrini. Patrick met us at a local supermarket so we could stock up on groceries and then showed us around the house. During our stay he went out of his way to help us with a couple of little emergencies, which was greatly appreciated.
The house and pool were a source of great enjoyment day and night. We loved eating at the tiled table facing the pool and spent time reading on the varied terraces with different views of the mountain and olive trees. Other highlights were our visits to the gorgeous Voidokilia beach, the ancient World Heritage Olympic games site, and lunch outside at the Garden Taverna in Olympia, where the staff were so helpful and gracious. We also will always remember the surprise 40th birthday dinner we gave my daughter. Heidi had recommended a bakery in Kyparissia, where we met a charming baker who delivered an amazing cake with ice cream to the only restaurant in the nearby village of Stasio. We had a delicious meal there outdoors (the waiter told us his father made the red and white wine being served) where the children could play, and the owner/cook couldn’t resist holding the baby. We will never forget the Greek hospitality we experienced in the Peloponnese, with many thanks to Patrick and Heidi as well for their warm welcome and for making their beautiful house available to other families like ours.
Thanks for the lovely review. It was really nice to meet all of your family. We are really pleased you enjoyed the villa and surrounding area so much and that you had such a memorable family holiday. We hope to see you back here again someday.
Rundum ein gelungener und erholsamer Urlaub
Super netter herzlicher Empfang
Toller, sensationeller Ausblick. Erholung pur!
Alles im Haus, was das Herz begehrt.
Kommen ganz bestimmt wieder.... dann für 3 Wochen!!
Perfect Greek Countryside Vacation
Our family had a delightful vacation staying in this wonderful house. It was the perfect spot for exploring the local area, visiting Olympia, and relaxing.
The pictures really represent the house well, but the property itself is expansive and full of fun and surprises. The kids ran around outside all day and there is a great hiking path up the mountain behind the house that starts a mile away.
The house itself was clean, comfortable and well appointed. The kitchen and outdoor grill were perfect for cooking for our large group and we enjoyed dinners on the patios while watching the sunsets.
The nearby villages and town have great local bakeries and stores as well as extremely helpful and friendly people.
I hope to be able to visit again in the future!
Thanks for your review. We are so glad you had such a wonderful stay and that the children enjoyed the house and garden so much. Thanks for looking after the chickens and for leaving the place so clean and tidy - it made a real difference when we returned from our own holiday.
If we're in Las Vegas sometime in the future, we'll let you know.
We look forward to seeing you again sometime and please let us know if Mindy wants any olive oil.
a great place to spend time with family and friends
We came to celebrate my wife's 70th birthday..
There were 17 persons in our party- me my wife, 3 children with their spouses and 9 grandchildren.
The house is beautiful with pretty landscape of the sea and the small village in distance. It is equipped with everything you need in your vacation: spacious rooms with balconies, nice beds, nice kitchen and a place for bar b q- everything in good conditions.
Since we came in October we did not use the swimming- pool very much, but we liked to eat launch by the pool. We did use the hot tub extensively. The children had lots of games and equipment they used like table tennis table, swings and even a space with a basketball ring. Every day we visited a different place within a driving distance, like beaches, waterfalls, a cave and pretty villages and small towns.
Patrick- the host was very kind and was available although we really needed his help only once in our 5 day stay.
To summarize, we had very happy holiday in villa Kitrini and we strongly recommend the place.

Thanks for the review. So glad you and your family had such a good time. It was a pleasure to meet you all. You seem to have done so many things and visited so many places, despite only being here for 5 days.
Maybe a longer stay next time?
Thanks also for leaving the place so clean and tidy.
Perfect for large family groups
Our experience of Villa Kitrini was just as all the other reviewers describe – a wonderfully serene and relaxing house to spend a fortnight, thoughtfully prepared by the owners to suit our particular needs and interests during our stay. We were a family group of 12 across three generations and the villa provided everything we could have wished for, with so much space, so many games and the terrific scenery. We spent hours sitting on the shady terrace reading, doing the crossword, eating and drinking while gazing across miles of countryside and coastline. When we did venture out we enjoyed the Neda Falls, the old town of Kyparissia, a variety of beaches including the splendid Voidolkilia beach and the night walk to see the turtles at Kalo Nero. We found Armeni, a 10-15 minute walk down the hill, a very pleasant village, with a nice bakery for morning bread and a very welcoming taverna. We ate there one evening and were promptly invited to return for the Okra festival a few nights later, an event not to be missed if you are there at the right time!
It was a pleasure to meet you and your lovely family. We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay and thanks for treating the house so respectfully. We look forward to seeing you again at Villa Kitrini - you are welcome anytime.
From Kyparissia, the sandy beach extends approximately 60 kilometres around the gulf of Kyparissiakos to the town of Pyrgos. This unspoilt coastline has numerous access points to the sea with various tavernas providing beachfront refreshments.
The area is not commercialized and has not been overdeveloped. Most beaches are serviced by one or two small traditional tavernas and little else.
Kyparissia is just over 3 hours drive from Athens airport and 1 hour from Kalamata airport. Many European airlines fly into Athens with Kalamata mainly servicing charter flights. Flight operators include Easyjet, British airways, Monarch and Olympic airways. Book early for the best prices. If arriving in Greece by ferry from Italy, the port of Patras is a 2 hour drive away. Whist there are excellent bus connections from all of these cities, your own car is essential whist staying at the villa.
Villa Kitrini is located on the outskirts of the village of Stasio, offering a taverna/kafeneon. The village of Armeni is also within walking distance and has a greater choice of tavernas, cafes and a shop selling basic provisions.
The area is rich in rustic charm and is a haven for those interested in nature and walking. The mountain range behind the house is easily accessible on foot and has a network of cart tracks, paths and goat tracks taking you to secluded churches and panoramic views.
The site of Ancient Olympia (the birthplace of the Olympic games) is less than an hour’s drive away as are many other ancient sites and monuments. Other major sites including Mystra, Mycenie, Epidavros, Ancient Corinth, Nafplio, Monemvasia, Lousios Gorge and Vouraikos gorge are all a day trip away.
The main town of Kyparissia is 4 kilometres away and provides all the amenities of a modern Greek town including bars, cafes, restaurants, supermarkets and clubs. The town is located around a large traditional main platea (square) overlooked by the old town and the rambling Byzantine-Frankish Kyparissia castle. The castle has free entry and provides panoramic views over the town and the large gulf of Kyparissiakos. The town also benefits from its own large sandy beach with a handful of bars, restaurants and clubs.
