We fell in love with this wonderfully unspoilt part of Europe nine years ago. We are absolutely thrilled with our new home on this fantastic resort. It is furnished to the very highest standard and offers a very luxurious setting for a relaxed laid back holiday.
Tina Stonely purchased this villa in 2009
The Western Algarve is a wonderful totally unspoilt part of Europe offering a fantastic array of stunning beaches. The West coast offers amazing surf (and surf schools) whilst Salema and all the nearby beaches are just stunning, unspoilt and pretty beaches, with a similar vista to Cornwall but with the weather.
Try simple fresh Portugese cuisine as there are plenty of wonderful local restaurants or bbq some locally caught fish.
You can relax by the pool, or visit a different stunning beach every day. There's so much to do and see in the area, boat trips, nature walks, cayaking, riding, golfing, wonderful spa's, tennis academy.
The house is only a 5 minute walk to the fishing village where you can watch the little coloured fishing boats row in.
This property is fantastically quiet, as many of the owners do not rent their houses out, so it never gets busy or noisy. The house is located very close to the reception area and the resort has a 24 hour security patrol so it always feel very safe.
The house has every mod con and is built to a very high standard. We love to cook so you will find everything you need to cater well for yourself, including juicers, steamers, microwave, new gas barbeque and plenty of fabulous glasses, cutlery and plates.
'This is the second time we've been, we never like to go back to the same place usually, but this place is paradise there is no where else we would rather be, the house has everything we need, we've just rebooked for next year!'
'We have had such a wonderfully calm easy family holiday we can't wait to come back again next year'
'Only complaint is we wish we'd stayed for longer'
A beautiful, modern villa set out upon 2 floors. The kitchen/lounge area is upstairs and leads out onto the balcony which boasts an amazing sea view. The property was extremely clean and well decorated and the double/twin bedrooms are of a big size with large wardrobes.
The villa is located just a 5 minute walk away from Salema beach and is also close to some great beach-side restaurants and shops in the town.
We stayed for a week in June and enjoyed balcony BBQ's, drinks by the pool and sunny walks down to the beach! Would love to return one day.
Stayed at The View, Salema with 3 friends.
This was such an amazing holiday and the villa made the stay even more enjoyable.
Every room has been finished beautifully with 2 large bathrooms (and an extra toilet) so enough space for everyone.
The kitchen is equipped with everything you need so you can easily cook anything without having to buy extra utensils and so on.
The balcony was amazing for BBQ's and drinks with amazing views of the sea and the pool.
The pool was always quiet enough for us to relax and everyone there was friendly.
Also such a short walk to the beautiful beach and many restaurants and bars. Only a short taxi journey to much more busy areas such as Faro.
Would 100% recommend this. The villa couldn't be better and the location is amazing!!
This was my second time visiting this stunning villa in Salema - and it definitely wont be the last!
Having visited previously with my family, I decided to invite a group of friends to this quaint and picturesque seaside town to spend a week relaxing in sunshine and our stay was truly brilliant.
The villa is contemporary, clean and a perfect retreat for a relaxing holiday. Its equipped with an excess of amenities - we sat out on the balcony each evening for cocktails and cooked our own BBQ's watching the sunset!
Its a few meters from the resort's swimming pool and a short stroll from Salema town and the fabulous Salema beach! There are several wonderful restaurants in the town center - perfect for fresh fish and evening meals right on the beach.
There are also cocktail bars and a few small convenience stores for any necessities.
We also found the local taxi service very useful - as we wanted to take evening trips to surrounding areas (Sagres & Lagos) without having to drive, we also used this to go to a large near by supermarket to stock up for the week. You can simply walk down into the town and find taxi's waiting in the bay, or ask in one of the restaurants for a number for the local service.
During our trip we also visited a number of other local beaches, however found Salema beach to be the quietest and most beautiful.
The villa was perfectly clean upon arrival, with fresh towels and bed-linen and we found the resort to be extremely safe and friendly.
Overall we had the most perfect holiday - and hope to return very soon!
I don't write reviews - but I do read them, and I am swayed by them, so having spent a fabulous week in this villa in The View, Salema, I thought I should recommend it to others, as the villa, site facilities and the location combined to give us the most wonderful holiday. The villa itself is really well equipped to a high standard, very comfortable, airy and spacious, and offers great views of the bay. Tina and her family look after the villa - and their guests - with the utmost care and consideration, and her communication is great, which gives a huge amount of confidence when booking through sites such as this. We've used Owners Direct a few times - and Tina is the most user-friendly owner I've dealt with so far. We hadn't been to the Algarve before, and were blown away by the value for money (even in high-end restaurants, of which there are many), the quaint charm of the tiny villages and bays on your doorstep (Salema is genuinely a little gem of a fishing village), and we loved the options of beautiful secluded beaches (two or three within easy walking distance), surfing, sporting activities, golf, and exploring a truly unspoilt natural environment. There was something for everyone. And when we didn't feel like rushing out anywhere, we could enjoy the massive pool about 45 seconds from the villa, which was never crowded - I had many swims on my own and with my family, and could have chosen to sit and chat to others if I'd wanted. Relaxed charm, but with close-to-high-end facilities. The View has it all - and it's only a 10-min stroll down to the local wide sandy beach, and the village with its choice of very good-quality bars and restaurants, so no need to drive if you don't want to. The grounds and local environment are well kept, beautifully presented and offer fantastic views wherever on the site you end up. We also hired a car and explored old-style Lagos, and some of the wilder parts of the coast to the west to Sagres. The surfing opportunities are amazing, and the vibe of the various towns and beaches changes remarkably as you move further off the more sedate tourist trail. The Algarve gave us exactly what we wanted - plenty of variety, for all ages and levels of mobility, and some wonderful memories. My only criticism - could someone fix the thermostat in the Atlantic? It took my breath away a couple of times, but once you got used to it - or got a wetsuit - the swimming was beautiful. Would we return? You bet - in a heartbeat!
My cousin and I rented this wonderful townhouse in September and I would definitely rent it again. Although it is modern, which I normally don't prefer, this property is spacious, clean with wonderful views of the Ocean. It's a short walk into charming Salema which I thought was the best town in the Algarve. Lots of beautiful beaches to hike to and real, authentic Portuguese restaurants. Tina is very easy to deal with and everything was just as we expected. Can't wait to go back.
Have just booked again for the 3rd year in succession.
The villa is ideally situated in Salema, and is part of the View complex which boasts a large pool area, ideal for families, or as an alternative to a day on the beach.
Its only a short walk from the Villa to access the beach, albeit down a short, but fairly steep hill, and then several steps through the cliffs, and onto the beach. Alternatively, a walk into the main resort which will only take a few minutes longer. Perhaps for the less able, a quick journey by car may be more preferable.
There are a excellent choice of restaurants within Salema, but always advisable to book restaurants in advance during the peak season.
The villa is clean and spacious, and has all the facilities to ensure your stay is both very comfortable, and relaxing. Should you prefer to eat in on occasions, there is a well catered kitchen area, with full amenities. Large lounge dining area off the kitchen, leading onto a terrace, with fantastic views over the Atlantic. A perfect way to unwind, after a hard day on the beach!
3 good sized bedrooms, all with comfortable beds.
Overall, a fantastic Villa set in a quiet part of Salema, and would highly recommend.
