A charming character house nestling in the lower mountain village of Edremit with mountain views of Hilarion castle above and Kyrenia harbour and the sea below. Large secluded garden with an orchard of fruit trees. Close to village shops and restaurants and 5 mins drive to the beach. Free use of a lovely pool at a mountainside restaurant 2 mins drive.
The house is really lovely and spacious and has a patio where you can sit for breakfast or candle-lit dinners. The garden is large and beautiful, filled with colourful bougainvillea and fruit trees. The current photo seems to have been taken before the garden was planted. The Mediterranean is also visible from the garden's high vantage point.
The house is in a great location in a small village with a car park and close to a hotel with a good restaurant and swimming pool. Two large supermarkets are easily accessible by car and Kyrenia, with its lovely harbour and shops is easily accessible via a new road.
The house is clean and well maintained and I would definitely recommend it for a holiday. This was the second time that we, a family of four, have stayed there and on both occasions, we have found it to be a perfect location for a great holiday.

Just returned from a 9 night stay at Susie's house in Edremit and had a lovely time.
I was there with my Dad who is looking at the possibility of retiring to northern Cyprus and we found this house to be in a great location to get around.
The house is located above Girne/Kyrenia and is only about 5/10 min drive to the centre. A lovely church carpark is situated directly across from the house itself so this was also really convenient.
A local hotel (Hideaway) is just a stones throw away and this provides access to a nice pool and great views over Girne. (Just have to buy a drink or something and they're happy enough for you to use the facilities)
The house itself is really spacious with all newly fitted features. good size kitchen with plenty of cooking equipment, utensils etc...
As the weather was pretty bad when we were there, we also made use of an extensive book and dvd collection as well as wifi.
The main aspect of staying here that we enjoyed was going shopping at the local market and picking up a bottle of wine and then cooking for ourselves at the house( with the little bbq provided) The terrace area is fully covered with a large dining table so we ending up cooking 6 out of 9 nights.
So all in all, a perfect stay and will definitely return!
Ercan in the north is 45 min to Edremit taxi fare approx £25.
Larnaca in the south approx 1hr 30 min taxi fare approx £50. The taxi will take you between the north and south of the island but hire cars are not allowed over the border without further insurance Car hire is recommended as public transport is limited although taxis are cheap.
Secret Garden is situated in the village with small local shops 1-2 min walk and a variety of restaurants within walking distance. 5 min drive down the mountain are an excellent range of supermarkets shops and restaurants some with pools by the sea.
There are numerous historic places of interest all over northern Cyprus, including the very famous old harbour of Kyrenia only 15 min. drive with many shops bars and restaurants. Bellapais abbey, many concerts are held there. St Hilarion castle which can be seen lit up at night from the garden and balcony. Bufento castle, Kantara Salamis and Vouni.
The Turtle project hatching and laying (in season). There are many superb mountain trails on your door step and rare Orchids and wild flower walks (Feb to May). Water sports, scuba diving, horse riding, paragliding and boat trips around the coast from the harbour.
