About the property

Villa in Kissonerga, Nr. Coral Bay, Paphos, Cyprus - Peaceful Location, 15 Minutes Walk To The Beach

Villa Tala View lies in a beautiful setting in the small sleepy village of Kissonerga, amid lemon groves and banana plantations. Our three bedroom link detached villa, is set in landscaped gardens with a large 8 x 4m private swimming pool with Roman Steps, giving the feel of paradise. Beyond are the fantastic views of the Hills of Tala. This superb holiday accommodation contains every convenience for a comfortable and memorable holiday. Air-con, ceiling fans and fly-screens are provided. Shutters all around have been installed recently (January 2013) all designed to keep you nice and cool when inside. A complimentary welcome pack will greet you on arrival. Every window (June 2013) has a fly screen including bathrooms and en-suite, now the refreshing breezes can circulate inside and the horrible little whatsits will have to stay outside.

A recently purchased car is now available (13/01/2017) to enable guests to explore this fantastic country, photos of our Nissan Xtrail are available. A car is not essential for our property but is recommended.

Prices for the car range from £25- £40 per day dependant on season, payment could be made with final payment for villa 3 weeks before your holiday, this price also includes airport transfers, which avoids trying to find villa initially, often in the dark. There are no hidden extras with the car, it is fully comprehensively insured and will come with a full tank of petrol. It is ideal to cope with the roads in Cyprus, especially if you are planning off road, to maybe Lara Bay to see the Turtles or Akamas

You will picked up from the airport, and taken to the villa, where the car will be waiting for you.

About Jill Dagha

Joe, my partner and I live and work in England. At the moment we only holiday in Cyprus, escaping from the pressures of work relaxing with all of our new found friends, in such a beautiful historic country. It has been less than 10 years ago that Joe and I first visited Cyprus, we fell in love with it immediately and dreamt of buying a house in readiness for our retirement 15 years hence. We went home having had an amazing holiday, but after a cooling off period of four months, we returned to fulfil our dream.

Jill Dagha purchased this villa in 2009

Why Jill Dagha chose Kissonerga

We bought the villa off plan, the location was so important, we wanted to be a part of a village, but not far from the sea or the town. Kissonerga was perfect, we are literally 5 minutes walk from the village which has all the amenities that we need, including 2 great restaurants, a 15 minute relaxed stroll brings us to a stunning beach close to another outstanding restaurant.

5 minutes by car, you will find yourself at the very popular Coral Bay, 15 minutes drive in the opposite direction will find yourself at the picturesque Harbour in Paphos, surrounded by brightly painted fishing boats, and private yachts and all dominated by The Fort and the Mosaics and all only an hours drive to the Mountains of Troodos.

What makes this villa unique

We took delivery of our villa in May eight years ago, and very soon discovered not only how much Cyprus and Paphos in particular had to offer, but also just how wonderful it was. To relax in the evenings alongside the pool, a glass of wine, soft music and succulent food from our barbecue, or to walk up the hill to the next village which is Tala, to sit in the Village Square and watch the world go by. It really is a taste of paradise

Guestbook comments from the owner

Nicola and Peter 29/5-5/6/13

FANTASTIC. The prompt, friendly and professional communication from the owners throughout was very reassuring. The villa was spotless and finished to a very high specification with everything you could need for a week away. It is set in a quiet residential cul-de-sac and only a ten minute walk in to the village where we found everything we needed and the locals were very friendly. As the weather was very hot the private pool was welcoming and the outside area is an ideal place for sunbathing, relaxing and having a barbecue, and taking in the views from the balconies was a joy. We spent a lot of time there and were very happy indeed with our choice, and with so many local places to eat and only 15 minutes drive to the Harbour it was a great location giving us the privacy we wanted. I honestly could not think of anything I would change, it was a wonderful place and we will definitely book to stay here again and highly recommend the villa. Thanks Jill & Joe.

Beautiful Villa with everything you need

  • 5 of 5

This was our first holiday abroad for 10 years and our first trip to Cyprus. Communication with Jill beforehand was excellent and all the information provided was very detailed and accurate. Nothing is too much trouble and even our airport transfers were sorted by Jill too.

The Villa itself is really lovely. There is everything you need to make your stay comfortable. The shutters on the windows are excellent for keeping the villa that bit cooler and the air-conditioning and ceiling fans were very welcome whilst we were there as it was very hot! The pool was clean and well looked after, as was the whole place. We had two teenagers who spent many happy hours in the pool during our time there. We actually spent quite a lot of time just relaxing at the villa during the day and going out later in the afternoon/evening, which worked well for us.

We chose to hire the car, I am glad that we did and I would recommend the use of a car to anyone staying there as it makes things so much easier.

The local village is quiet and pleasant with a playground and supermarket. Julie's Bar is about 15mins walk from the villa and is a friendly place with good food at a reasonable price.

Coral Bay is a short car journey and is a lovely place full of shops and bars/restaurants - if you like fish and chips, go to San Marino's, they were superb!

Paphos is the City of Culture for 2017 and has (apparently) undergone some re-development recently along the sea-front area - which they refer to as the tourist area. It was very pleasant with some nice shops to look around, plenty of places to eat/drink and lovely to walk along the promenade area. On the main drag from Coral Bay along to Paphos you'll find plenty of fruit sellers, shops, restaurants, bars, shopping mall, supermarkets (including Lidl), basically anything you need, including McDonalds, KFC and Pizza Hut should you desire. Tea for Two is another lovely restaurant we went to and can be found on the main strip towards Paphos.

All in all we had a fabulous holiday, from the dealings with Jill, to the Villa and the area, and not forgetting John, the lovely neighbour, who picked us up from the airport and took us back. Very friendly and you can ask him anything!

I don't doubt that we will stay there again sometime, and I would, and have, recommend it to others.

Smashing Holiday

  • 5 of 5

I recently stayed here with my husband, daughter, her partner and my two grandsons.

Jill kept in touch from booking to us returning home and provided some very useful and detailed information. We were collected from the airport by John and Pat who live in the villa next door and returned to the airport by them for our flight home. They were on hand to help throughout our stay should we need it.

The villa was nice and spacious, plenty of room for the six of us but for my grandsons the highlight was the pool. My youngest grandson began the holiday being too frightened to get into the water and ended it swimming with his armbands on and not wanting to get out of the pool!

We hired Jill's car for the week and this was very useful for trips to Coral Bay and Paphos and I would recommend.

My husband and I went for a walk to Julie's Bar one evening as it was getting dark. It was a lovely walk and we were delighted to see the bats in the trees behind the villa flying around us.

All in all we had a lovely time and would recommend. Thank you for a lovely time Jill and for some lovely memories.

Lovely Villa

  • 5 of 5

I would just like to second everything that all the other reviews have said. Jill was excellent with her communication from the very first email we sent her. I would say you definitely need a car which we hired from Jill. I would recommend the buggy tour of the island that we did with Chris from Coral Bay. We had a lovely meal in the sunset breeze restaurant not far from the villa.

The villa has everything you could wish for, however the sun goes off the pool at 3.00pm but you can always sit at the front of the villa in the chairs provided. The couple next door were really helpful and friendly.

I would recommend this villa to anyone.

Owner's Response: Thank you Lynda for another great review, it was a pleasure communicating with you too. Yes the pool is in some shade mid afternoon which offers welcome respite from the heat of the day. However for the sun worshippers that visit us, the decking and sun beds are in the sunshine for most of the day. Really do hope that we hear from you again when next you holiday in Cyprus. Kindest Regards Jill

Beautiful house and pool

  • 5 of 5

The house was beautiful, well maintained and very clean..With the shutters and the fans it was cool inside All the furniture and fittings were of high quality as was the pool and all outdoor furniture. The gas barbeque was great and the lighting in the garden had been very well thought out making sitting out in the evenings very pleasant. Every thing you could need was provided along with basic groceries such as milk and bread when we arrived which was good as our flight was so delayed. The house is in a quiet cul-de-sac where you can see the sea from the front and the countryside and hills from the back, We could walk into the village where there was a small supermarket and several bars and restaurants. The car was a bonus as it was big enough for the five of us, had air conditioning and enabled us to travel into Paphos to see the Tomb of the Kings and to Coral Bay when we went kayaking. The neighbours John and his wife Pat were so helpful. Jill was a pleasure to deal with, answering all emails promptly and we will certainly be going back. I would have no hesitation in recommending Jill's villa to anyone wanting a relaxed holiday in beautiful surroundings.

Special interest holidays:

Paphos, an UNESCO world heritage site, is the ancient capital of Cyprus and former fishing port the often accredited as the birthplace of Aphrodite. The ancient sites and archaeology preserve this noble past and the harbour area builds on this, mixing old and new, to provide a perfect holiday destination in the sun.

Diving: With over 50 dive sites in Cyprus for all year round diving, with the Zenobia wreck being one of the top 10 worldwide dives, The Vera K wreck is just 25 minutes from Paphos harbour laying just 11m below the surface, close to the wreck there is an archway & a series of narrow tunnels suitable for the experienced diver to explore.

Vardas Beach, with it's beach-side restaurant is a 15 minute walk and has a lovely grassed area with sun loungers and parasols. There are many beaches around the Paphos area including Coral Bay, one of the most popular beaches in Cyprus, with Blue Flag EU certification, complete with all facilities, water sports, snack bars, shops and restaurants and can be reached by car (5km) or you can catch the bus on the coast road.

Paphos airport 25 mins by car. Larnaca airport 1hr 30mins. Collection to and from the airport can be pre-arranged for you. Car hire not essential, but recommended.

Kissonerga is well located, and ideally positioned to explore the many places to visit. The village can be reached on foot in 5 mins and has several restaurants, 2 supermarkets, a bank and pharmacy. There is also a choice of tavernas which come highly recommended, within walking distance on the coast road. 10 minute drive up to neighbouring Tala village square is a true taste of Cyprus with many traditional tavernas to be enjoyed. By car Paphos 15 mins, Coral Bay 7 mins. Beach 15 minutes stroll.

Further Details:

Hiring a car is not essential but is recommended for those who want to explore all that Cyprus has to offer. A drive up to the pine clad Troodos Mountains is recommended and traditional villages include Lania, Omodos and Kakopetria or visit the beautiful monastery of Agios Neofytos. For a nice day out you can head to the popular fishing harbours of Polis and Latchi. Cyprus has the best of both, there is 'old' Cyprus offering charm and tradition or 'new' Cyprus which is livelier and modern. It is all there to be enjoyed, so your holiday is truly what you make it. Paphos town and harbour has an array of shops, restaurants and bars for a good evening out and Paphos fort often stages special attractions throughout the year. For the daytime, if you are adventurous Paphos Water Park is reached in 15 mins drive and is great for the kids. Many special interest holidays can be enjoyed such as fishing, cycling or bird watching. A Spring visit to Cyprus provides some of the most exciting birding in all Europe. We can also arrange collection from the airport.

Because of the location of many of the properties on Cyprus, it can take up to hours before the Ambulance arrives at the property, and in many cases, the uninjured party is asked to meet the Ambulance to save time in finding you. To avoid this situation I pay to Phoenix Ambulance Service in Kissonerga, their telephone no is displayed at various locations in the Villa, one call to them, and they would be with you within 2 - 3 minutes of your call, saving valuable time.
it is hopefully, and highly unlikely that such a situation would occur, but in the event that it does, better to be safe.
