Manor farmhouse is approached through electric gates into a large courtyard around which are arranged the farmhouse, stable cottage and the barn. There is a leisure complex within the barn which consists of a billiard room with snooker and pool balls, a library and sauna. On the first floor is a cinema room seating 18 with a large flat screen surround sound TV, DVD, CD, Laser Disc, VCR and stereo. There is an outdoor heated swimming pool set within a sunken walled garden (heated between 1 May and 30 September). The property has beautifully landscaped gardens with a water feature and views to the village cricket pitch and adjacent orchards.
Married and living in Tavistock Devon.
Philip Flanagan purchased this farmhouse in 1999
Milstead is a very pretty village located between Faversham and Sittingbourne in Kent. We saw the property in July 1999 and fell in love with it. After we replaced the thatched roof of the Farmhouse in 2001, we then set about rebuilding the garage block and subsequently the stable cottage. We also renovated the Barn and re-landscaped the grounds, to include the water feature.
Although set in a very tranquil village, we are only 47 miles to central London, very well served by either the M20 or M2 and also train services to London Victoria (59 mins).
We are also close to various beaches, such as Whitstable, Barnstable.
Judging from what our guests comment, then peace and quiet, fantastic location for exploring the North Downs or Kent in general, beautiful gardens and outdoor pool, ability to accommodate 18 (we have had 4 generations of 1 family celebrate a 60th birthday recently).
All linen and towels are included, as are toiletries from Gilchrist and Soames. A comprehensive welcome hamper is also included in the tariff.
Hi Philip. I rented this house last month from the 16th and we loved it so much that we would like to book the same week again for next year. Anyway, I hope it will be possible for us to come again. We found the house and location worked very well for us, and the pool was wonderful. Best wishes, Susannah
The views are towards orchards, the cricket ground and the local Church.
Situated in the midst of the charming village of Milstead nestled between the church and cricket.
