About Sam and Vicky
Sam and Vicky Elliott moved to Kerabellec in February 2015 from Eastbourne , just shortly after both his parents died and our two children having finished university were settled in jobs in England. ( We live on site in our own house ) Sam had spent the last 30 years working abroad in healthcare, whilst Vicky had been working in local schools in Eastbourne as a teaching assistant, cover supervisor , matron and a housekeeper. We decided that we needed to spend some time together after years of feeling like ships passing in the night . So we decided to make some time for ourselves and we found Kerabellec, where we walk our two small dogs every day and it is a wonderful place to live all year round with the birds, cows, deer and wildlife which still amaze us when they come in to the garden and we rush to pick up the binoculars. We hope that you enjoy Kerabellec as much as we do.
Sam and Vicky purchased this Cottage in 2015
Why Sam and Vicky chose La Chapelle-Neuve
All four of our properties are in a fantastic location and very central to head out for the beaches , towns , eating or shopping with South facing aspects , which means that we have the sun all day on the complex. It is a bright, spacious complex but everybody still has their own privacy . Guests can take books or games from the site with a picnic and sit down by the river under the weeping willow tree, and there is a calm and peace that helps you to unwind from the usual hectic work/ school life .If you bring your wellingtons or paddling shoes, the river is only a few inches deep in the summer months and great for looking for habitats with the children paddling in the water. Or the younger children have space to ride bikes or skate. Le Pierrot has a double bedroom , and a twin bedroom which accommodates 3 single beds ( size of room approx. 14 feet by 14 feet ) , which is ideal for a family with children who are happy to share or a group of adults who are happy to share bedroom and bathroom space. Le Pierrot has a cosy family bathroom with bath , shower , toilet and sink . The cottage is very old and used to be the village bakery for Chapelle neuve . ( sleeps 5 ) La Faisane our other 2 bedroomed gite is fantastic for the less able guest , teenagers or 2 lots of coupled holidaying together because La Faisane has a double bedroom upstairs with an ensuite and the twin bedroom downstairs also with its own shower room .The doorway is also wide enough to accommodate wheelchair access and with an open plan style lounge, kitchen diner this gite is next to the swimming pool and great for a less able person. L Hirondelle our 3 bedroomed gite with a double bedroom ensuite , 2 twin bedrooms and a second family bathroom is great for families bringing extra teenagers or grandparents . One of the sofas in the lounge area makes a double bed . La Alouette is absolutely great for two families wishing to holiday together and share the cost . ( sleeps 8 ) + sofa bed in the lounge
What makes this Cottage unique
Kerabellec is fantastic for group bookings, where friends and families have the opportunity to all meet for a holiday together (as well as individual family holidays) as the complex sleeps 22/24 plus travel cots. All on one site everybody still has their own space and privacy. Kerabellec is central for , beaches, towns , historical sights, markets , river kayaking , water sports golf and fishing all within 30 minutes or less on the fantastic French roads . Every gite is south facing . We do have wildlife here , with the red squirrel, birds of prey, the deer who come to the river at night for a drink and thousands of small birds and also the tiny little bats that fly around late at night ,so fantastic for the animal lover. There are some beautiful French towns really worth a visit such as Vannes , Auray, Josselin, Rennes and many more but especially Quimper which has a magnificent cathedral in the centre of the medieval town. For the beach lover you would really love Quiberon, Guidel , Lamor Plage , St Philbert , Trinite Sur Mer or the wild and rugged Nevez and Kerhillio suitable for dogs . For the bird lover the sea estuary of Nostang is a beautiful experience only 20 minutes from Kerabellec. If you love modern art then the chateaux and sculpture park just through Bignan is well worth a visit And it is FREE for you to go in to the art exhibitions . Kerabellec is only 15 minutes from Pont Augan where you can take your bikes and ride along the Blavet for miles. Kayaking is also available at this site and is great for an adult or family activity.

kerabellec fantastic location and immaculate
Sam and Vicky were fantastic hosts advising where to eat and visit . Beaches only 25 minutes
Perfect location to relax after a hectic work style .
Safe for the children on their bikes
Le pierrot was the old village bakery , very quaint and quite different from the modern house that we live in
The cottage was immaculate and fully equipped . It was great to have English television to just relax with a glass of wines in the evenings.
March is still quite chilly in the evenings , but we had beautiful bright days and all the spring flowers are all sprouting up with an abundance of wildlife .we will certainly visit again as there is still so much more to see in the area.
It was really lovely to meet you .
Everyday you were out exploring new places , the small medieval towns , the long beautiful coastline and Nostang full of wildlife.
Pleased to hear that the engineers enjoyed the Submarine base at Lorient , and the motor museum at Loudeac with 150 cars.
Great to see you getting the wood burner going in the evenings and cuddling up with a glass of wine and listening to music. Totally chilled after a hectic few weeks at work.
Yes March can still be chilly but a great time to see the fishing season start and all the spring flowers.
We hope you will visit us here again sometime in the future , and maybe bring a group of friends with you as we do sleep up to 25 people here in our four gites.
5 Star Relaxing holiday
We stayed at Kerbellec for two weeks in August. We stayed in Le Periot which was perfect for our family of 5, the photos did not do it justice. Our Hosts Vicky and Sam really went out of their way to make our holiday special for us and our children, with lots of tips and advice, for the surrounding area.
We had lovely outdoor dining area with BBQ and a fantastic pool with a cover which meant the pool was always warm, although not needed as we had perfect weather for the whole two weeks.
There was a large garden for the children to play in and huge field opposite where my children played freely, built dens and played in the river with the friends they had made. There were plenty of toys including a climbing frame, table tennis and large collection of board games for the evening.
The location was excellent. We were 5 minutes drive from the town centre with restaurant’s and supermarkets, 2 km from the bakery and 5 mins from the forest. A favourite was the river Le Blavet, a 10 minute drive away were we spent a number of days, taking a picnic and either hiring bikes or Canoeing. There are so many beaches to choose from, you are spoilt for choice.
We would definitely recommend and would mostly certainty return
Hi Katie and Jamie

Great to hear that you enjoyed the complex here at Kerabellec , but still enabling you to have your own privacy.
We enjoyed seeing Maisie, William and Rosie having a lovely time with other children.
Please do visit us again sometime in the future we would love to see you all again.

Perfect escape for family & dog!
We are a family of 5, stayed in L'Hirondelle but having seen all the 4 gites, they are all great. We were looking for an escape from the business of London life, a week of family time and this was a perfect place. We took our dog, she loved it too.
From walking in the woods, cycling the coastal paths, eating out at lovely creperies, going to the markets, sitting by the wood burner and playing card games and board games, making boats to sail down the river, cycling to the bakery each morning (2km away), we couldn't have asked for a better week away. You know it's a good holiday when the kids don't even ask for a screen in 8 days!
Sam and Vicky were great hosts too. Knowing where to go and what to do, we felt we did not waste a day. It's a beautiful part of the world, with so much to do and see.
The advise of dressing gowns and slippers was a must for Easter time, as the gites were not heated but the fireplace was amazing!
We might well be back here again, thankyou Sam and Vicky for a wonderful week!
Hi Lynda , Trevor and family,
It was lovely to see you here at Kerabellec, and so pleased to see how calm and relaxed you all were , taking a break from your hectic work schedules.
Paddy ( our Patterdale ) loved chasing and playing with Tombi ( your Jack Russell ). It is a fantastic location to be able to head out to the beaches , towns , cycle paths and it was great to hear that you thoroughly enjoyed yourselves. You still have so much more to explore should you decide to stay with us again.
We would love to see you all here back at Kerabellec , and Tombi too, and you are welcome anytime.
Have a wonderful summer
Vicky and Sam xx
Perfect for families
We were two families of four staying, we had a fantastic time, kids loved the swimming pool, it was lovely and quiet only saw about 2 cars on the lane in all our stay there!! Vicky and Sam are amazing, anything you needed a hand with or just to chat to they were very friendly and helpful. Would recommend to anyone. Hope to go back very soon.
We are always delighted when we receive good feedback from families who have stayed at our Gite's. It was a pleasure to have you stay with us and you would be welcome back any time. We have recently had a new pool cover fitted to our pool area which will keep the pool temperature nice and warm all year round.
Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your positive feedback which is always welcome.

Perfect for family holiday
Traditional farmhouse Gite, clean, well equipped, excellent family accommodation, with lovely outdoor dining/seating area. Good sized, well maintained swimming pool, huge garden area for children to play or just to enjoy. And well supplied with outdoor and indoor toys.
Baude (nearest town) is a 5 min drive and has 3 supermarkets a tourist office and several restaurants.
Nearest beaches are at Carnac (30-40 min drive) our favourite was the smaller Legenes Plage.
Other nearby towns we liked were Hennebont, lovely restaurants, good market and excellent tourist office, also lovely to walk around. Saint Nicolas Des Eaux, Canoeing, cycling, walking and our favourite restaurant of the holiday, Le Relais du Pere Nicolas.
Practicalities aside, what made our holiday wonderful was this beautiful little corner of Brittany, ideally located for exploring both locally in the fields forests and river and further afield. The lovely warm welcome from our Hosts Vicky and Sam who really went out of their way to make our holiday special and our children loved the dogs Huni and Paddy. If we visit this part of the world again, I wouldn't stay anywhere else.
Dear Des and Rachel, Catherine and Tess
What a long way to travel, all the way from Glasgow, so we were very pleased to read that you had thoroughly enjoyed your holiday here at Kerabellec, staying in our gite called Le Pierrot.
Our dogs loved being around the girls and dog walking with us in the local woods with all the streams and wildlife.
Des was so dedicated to his morning run and swim.
We hope you enjoy the rest of your summer holidays and we would love to see you here back at Kerabellec again, you are welcome anytime.

A haven in Brittany
We have stayed in many gites across France but this complex at Kerebellac tops them all.
The gites are individual, very clean and spacious, extremely well equipped and so comfortable. All have an outside dining patio with a provided bar-b-que.The setting is just stunning with lovely gardens surrounded by glorious countryside. The pool is heated and of a good size with sun loungers provided for the reader too.
There is plenty of outside space to kick a ball around, play boule or walk the riverside paths. Although in a quiet rural setting( a car is a must) the local market town of Baud with all it's facilities is a 5 minute drive and a local patisserie is a 15 minute country lane stroll to buy the breakfast of croissant and yummy traditional bread and cake!
The owners are very welcoming, friendly and helpful with plenty of local knowledge to assist with places to visit and great restaurants to eat at. The beautiful south Brittany coast is about 40 minutes drive with many towns ,harbours and beaches to explore. The Bay of Morbihan with all it's islands is a must do. The area is awash with picturesque medieval towns all of which have a weekly market on specific days so lots to do and see each day.
Kerebellac is a beautiful complex and highly recommended. The photos do not disappoint...absolutely stunning, already booked our return stay.
Thank you for providing your review after your stay at Kerabellec. It really helps us when we receive visitors reviews. We are very pleased that you enjoyed your stay and we look forward to your return visit with us.

Coast/Beach: The closest beaches are around Carnac - about 35 minutes on easy roads by car. Worth travelling another five minutes for are the beaches on Western side of the Quiberon peninsular where there is a wealth of water sport, including wind-surfing, kite-surfing, surfing and sand-surfing! The waters on the eastern side of the peninsular are calmer for young families. A favourite beach with our clients is at Kerhilio just at the base of the peninsular, also Guidel, Lamor plage , Trinite Sur Mer . Just ask us for any additional ideas and places to go . Travel: Our nearest airport is at Rennes (just over an hour by car) Flights from the UK also come into Nantes Dinard Lorient and Brest. July and August flights from Stanstead to Lorient only 30 minutes from Kerabellec. The nearest ferry ports are at Roscoff and St Malo, each about two hours drive away. Caen is under three hours by car and Cherbourg three and half hours. The drive from the Tunnel terminal at Calais takes six hours but there are lots of service and toilet areas to rest.Your own transport is essential when staying here. Distances: Our nearest town is Baud, with a good selection of small shops, and some excellent bakers. There are three supermarkets and several good restaurants. La Chapelle Neuve is our closest village - a twenty minute walk away - and has a small shop. For serious shopping there is a hypermarket in Lorient. There are excellent markets locally - one almost every day in Vannes, or Auray, Carnac or Pontivy or Hennebont. There is also a small market in Baud on Saturdays. Rennes also has some great shops. Further Details: All Gites are None Smoking, however outside smoking is permitted & ashtrays can be supplied. We keep a basket in each cottage with recommendations for local restaurants and tourist guides to what's on in the area. We ask guests to add to the basket with the things that they have most enjoyed doing. There are several interesting towns in the area, notably Josselin with its historic castle, and Vannes with its medieval streets. Quimper with its cathedral . Rennes a university town and great architecture . For those who love second hand bargains , visit the TROC AND PUCE ( Boot sales ) all over brittany .
