About Hilary & Colin Edwards

We live on the Hertfordshire/Essex border and work in business and education. We purchased our apartment off plan in 2007, Royal Seacrest was just a very large field!

We got the keys to our apartment in May 2009 and worked hard to get everything ready for the summer season that year. We chose to decorate and furnish to a high standard, going for quality furniture, decoration and soft furnishings etc. We love the apartment and Royal Seacrest and have made good friends there. It is not just a holiday let to us, it is our second home and we spend as much time there as we can. Whilst the apartment is not personalised for us it is comfortable and homely for our guests, and we are proud of the great reviews we have. We are also delighted that many of our guests choose to rebook year after year.

Why Hilary & Colin Edwards chose Paphos & Suburbs

We chose Cyprus and Paphos for many reasons. We visited for the first time when our two daughters were young, they are in their twenties now! Despite visiting many other places we found ourselves returning to the Paphos area time and again. When the opportunity came we decided to get our own place in the sun and have never looked back, we love it!

We wanted something in a great location with as much outdoor space as we could get, we love to be outside and the Cypriot climate lends itself perfectly to an outdoors lifestyle To this end we are happy to have 3 outdoor areas, the front terrace which gets the morning sun, perfect for breakfast. This has views of the sea, the Paphos lighthouse and part of the Old Town of Paphos. The balcony overlooks the pools and is more shady which is good, you need a shady area with the fierce Cypriot sun. It gets some sun in the afternoons when the front is more shady. The place that really sold it to us though was the roof terrace, this gets the sun all day! It is a large area fully furnished with 4 sunbeds a table and a large sunshade. We also have a seating area with a sofa, 2 chairs and a coffee table. Perfect in the evenings with a drink, watching the sun go down. It is a quiet peaceful place.

The apartment is perfectly situated, Royal Seacrest is in the popular Tomb of the Kings area, but is set right back from the main road so it is quiet, peaceful and relaxing. Just a few minutes walk brings you to shops, restaurants and bus stops (the buses run regularly are clean and great value, one set price for any journey). Just another couple of minutes to the sea with a variety of beaches and miles of coastal paths.

The complex has 2 big pools which are maintained to a very high standard and are very clean. Plenty of sunbeds and sunshades to go round even in the busy months. The whole complex is very well looked after, we have a great maintenance company and their standards are very high. There is plenty of parking within the barrier

What makes this apartment unique

We love the ease of Cyprus, extremely friendly people, English is widely spoken, they drive on the left, fantastic variety of food, and so much more! The history and culture are fascinating with so much to see and do.

We have an excellent Property Management Company called Rhimax, they do a great job looking after everything for us including our guests! Max meets our guests when they arrive and shows them round and explains everything. If you arrive late they will arrange a convenient time the following day. Max is also available during your stay should you need any assistance giving you complete peace of mind.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Immaculate apartment situated on the second floor. Perfect location for beaches and restaurants and also very well equipped for self catering purposes. Beautiful large swimming pools.

Spacious accomodation and a lovely master bedroom overlooking the pools. Large balcony and also an additional roof terrace with sunloungers etc. I would not hesitate in recommending this apartment and I am definitely going to be returning

Wonderful holiday and have already rebooked!

  • 5 of 5

Have just returned from a truly amazing holiday! First impressions were clean, spacious, modern, light and a very well looked after apartment. Access was by a lift to the second floor and easy to find even on arriving in the dark!

The apartment had a lovely view of the pools below, was very quiet for sleeping. Incredibly comfortable beds and all the facilities you needed, making it a home from home holiday.

The complex is finished to a very high standard. Plenty of room to sunbath, not noisy or overly crowded even in August at the height of the season. The pools were imaculate, warm and not full of chlorine. I visited with my son and a friend and it was the perfect choice for a holiday.

The location of the property means it's not essential to hire a car but on reflection we may do next year. Only a 5 minute stroll will bring you to the main road where there are a wide variety of eating establishments. A large supermarket is also within walking distance and the nearest beach was super.

I've been fortunate to travel the world and with my job get to stay and review so many locations. I loved apartment F202 at the Royal SEACREST, Papfos and Cyprus itself, is a wonderful place to visit. The weather, the food and the warm hospitality of the locals, I can highly recommend this lovely apartment.

I would like to personally thank Hilary and Colin for all their communication before and after our holiday. It's nice to deal with someone so professional. The management company are also on hand should you need anything. I don't often go back to the same place however on this occasion I certainly have to!

Lovely quiet property in good location.

Can recommend staying here and dealing with Hilary. Can really only duplicate what has been said in earlier reviews, in that Hilary was always prompt to answer queries so booking was really straightforward. Hilary also sorted out airport transfers and recommended car hire, although we ended up not bothering with that. As has been said Max the property manager in Paphos is available to answer questions, etc. He provided us with both an e-mail and mobile no to contact him with. We arrived late in the evening so he arranged to see us on our first morning. We'd had a couple of questions to ask him immediately and he responded quickly by text. We agreed therefore that there was no need for him to meet us as he'd already answered our only questions. It is comforting to know there is someone there however should anything go wrong, etc.

As said its a short walk to the main road with a variety of places to eat and drink. There are a couple of routes to the Tomb of the Kings Rd, the most direct being down a track. At night it is dark so we used the lights on our mobiles to ensure we stayed on track. Alternatively if when you leave the complex (directly opposite the door to this apartment) walk straight on perpendicular to the property at the bend in the road you can cut across a small patch of land (about 20 steps) to get to a road that bears round to the right and heads down towards the main strip and ultimately brings you out on a small path by the side of O'Neills bar. As it reduces the amount of "off road" walking we preferred that route, but neither way is an issue.

Paphos Old Town can be accessed by walking back away from the sea in the opposite direction. Its approx 20 minute stroll (too hot to walk briskly) and is up a very moderate hill. Can't say I was too impressed with the old town, the indoor market was ok but the modernisation with pedestrianising the central area seemed out of kilter and a little disappointing.

The complex seemed to be pretty quiet and there was never many people around the pool. If you want peace and quiet then this is the place! Pool was well maintained and clean and plenty of sunbeds to go around.

All in all this was an excellent property, clean and well maintained in a good location with access to facilities and is as described. Thanks for letting us stay.

Perfect apartment for a perfect holiday

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for 10 nights in June and the apartment is everything you could ask for. It's spacious and has a large balcony and roof terrace. The terrace gets the sun all day and has its own comfortable table and chairs and sunbeds and the balcony is covered but gets some sun on the afternoon. To be honest though you don't need the sun on the balcony whe. You have spent time in the scorching cyprus sun. The apartment was really clean when we arrived and contact with the owners and Max the property manager was frequent and answered any questions. Max came to visit is when we arrived to check everything was okay. The apartment has everything you need including cool bags which came in really handy for drinks round the pool and beach. The pool itself was large, clean and plenty of sunbeds and didn't get too busy.

Location wise, it's only 5 mins walk down a track to the main tomb of the Kings Road where there are plenty of bars, restaurants and kiosks for the essential milk and bread etc. There's fab views to the sea and over kato paphos from the roof terrace and only a 15 minute walk to the old town. Just down from the main road is a coastal path which takes you all the way to the harbour. A bit long in the sweltering heat but really nice around 7pm when the sun is starting to set. There is a bus stop at the bottom of the track which takes you to the harbour or to coral bay and run every 10 minutes.

Overall you couldn't ask for anything else from this apartment. Brilliant facilities, location and excellent value for money. Can't wait to return.

Wonderful - just as described.

  • 5 of 5

This apartment is truly lovely, and the owners were so accommodating of all our requests. They got back to all our enquiries promptly, and arranged all our transfers which worked just as arranged. Max was very helpful too, especially when we had to call on him during our week long holiday!

The apartment is very clean, well furnished and equipped to a very high standard, and the beds are very comfortable.

The whole complex is very well maintained and clean, and there was always plenty of room and sunbeds around the pool. It was very quiet and relaxed - and we were there during half term.

The apartment is well situated to walk to the local shops and restaurants - plenty of choice; the old town where we found some lovely smaller local artisan shops; and for the buses to the harbour which was very bustling as there was a festival on. Just right to allow teenagers a degree of independence!

The bus service was great as we had chosen not to hire a car, and just stayed locally.

I would highly recommend this apartment for all the reasons above.

Thanks for a great week away.
