It is set in an idyllic tranquil location for total relaxation, but only a 7 minute drive to Ostuni town centre, the famous "White City" and less than 10 mins to Ceglie Messapica and Cisternino, where there is an abundance of great restaurants serving the freshest local produce and great Puglian wines. It sleeps up to 15 people but it is fabulous for much smaller groups too. View our website www.villaaurorapuglia.com to see just how good it is

The VILLA, APARTMENT and TRULLO have all been beautifully and comfortably furnished throughout. All 7 BEDROOMS have been tastefully decorated with good quality very comfortable beds. It has lots of large windows and doors to enjoy the beautiful views from whilst inside, making it very light, airy and spacious. There are 4 LARGE TERRACES & 3 LARGE COVERED OUTSIDE VERANDAS to sit, eat and relax. The ROOF TERRACE is truly amazing with the real "WOW" factor, it is spectacular! All this surrounded by beautifully landscaped gardens, an olive grove, ancient olive trees and a wonderful 10 x 8 metre HEATED SWIMMING POOL. In low season or for late bookings we are prepared to rent the Villa out separately

The VILLA is on two levels:

There is also an iLuv music system, stone fireplace and two sets of glass doors, one leading out to the FRONT TERRACE and the other to a large covered VERANDA with 2 sofas, 2 dining tables & 16 chairs. The lounge is open plan and leads through to a fully equipped KITCHEN with extra large oven, 6 burner hob, cooker hood, double sink, dishwasher, large Liebherr fridge/freezer, coffee machine & air conditioning, which cools both the lounge and the kitchen. There is a dining table and chairs with glass doors leading out to the covered veranda where it is delightful to eat. There is a further very pretty DOUBLE BEDROOM and a spacious FAMILY BATHROOM. Both bedrooms have air conditioning. Desk/work area with a printer for guests use and a marble staircase leading to the lower level of the Villa

The LOWER LEVEL OF THE VILLA has 3 bedrooms. This level of the Villa is huge and is very cool, therefore air conditioning is not required. There is a very large FAMILY BEDROOM with a super-king size bed, an additional single bed, a sofa and music system. There is a further DOUBLE BEDROOM, plus a SINGLE BEDROOM with one single bed, where an additional single bed can be added to sleep a 15th person, if required. There are 2 very modern BATHROOMS with walk in showers. The DINING AREA looks out onto the garden, where the entire wall is heat reflective glass panels and doors. This has the most spectacular glass dining table with chairs all around, with the base of the table being the root of an ancient tree. Next to it is a gold chesterfield sofa. This then leads into a MASSIVE LOUNGE with a full size snooker table, 3 sofas, 2 wing armchairs, antique opium day bed, lovely stone fireplace, iLuv music system, 42" Panasonic flat screen TV, Apple TV, DVD player and satellite system. There is a Nintendo Wii games console complete with Wii Fit board, Guitar Hero, lots of Nintendo games and a cupboard full of board and other games for the whole family to have great fun with. There is also a large UTILITY ROOM with a supersize washing machine, tumble drier, iron, ironing board, deep porcelain sink, fridge/freezer, vacuum cleaners and all cleaning equipment

The SELF CONTAINED SUITE/APARTMENT is very spacious. It is part of the Villa but it has the benefit of having its own front door, giving the guests staying there total privacy. It has a very large DOUBLE BEDROOM with air conditioning and wonderful views overlooking the swimming pool and a spacious BATHROOM. There is a fully fitted well equipped KITCHEN/DINER/LOUNGE with oven, hob, cooker hood, double sink, fridge/freezer, dining table and chairs, sofa, TV, DVD player, satellite system and CD player with glass doors leading out to the FRONT TERRACE, where there is a table and chairs to sit and enjoy breakfast, have lunch and drinks

The TRULLO, which is unique to this part of Italy, is 300 years old and has been fully restored to tastefully provide all the comforts anyone would need and it has the added benefit of being right next to the villa. It consists of a DOUBLE BEDROOM, LOUNGE with sofa, table, chairs, TV & DVD player, fully fitted KITCHEN and BATHROOM. The walls are over one metre thick, making it cool in the hot summer months. It has air conditioning which provides heating for the cooler months of the year. There is no wifi in here as the walls are too thick!

There are 7 bedrooms in total sleeping 14 people, with an additional single bed which can be added when required for a 15th person. There is also a full size baby's cot, highchair and additional cots and highchairs can be provided

All 4 kitchens are all fully equipped to the highest standard, lacking nothing. They all have their own crockery, glasses, cutlery and cooking equipment

About Linda Cargill

We are a family of four. Linda has put all of her energy, passion and enthusiasm into lovingly caring for Villa Aurora, bringing it up to the very highest standard. It is a wonderful family home for us, perfect for entertaining, which we like to share with other people, allowing them to also enjoy the pleasure of staying there. We are very passionate about giving all of our guests the very best holiday experience and service, which all the 5 star reviews we have testify.

Linda Cargill purchased this villa in 2008

Why Linda Cargill chose Ostuni

When we first arrived in Puglia we fell in love with this unspoilt part of Italy, its friendly people, fantastic locally produced food and wine, good weather, lovely coastline and beautiful old historical towns, with Ostuni being in our opinion the best. It was like stepping back in time!

We invite you to come share in and enjoy for yourselves what we have lovingly created. You will not be disappointed.

What makes this villa unique

We originally wanted to purchase something old, but on looking found these properties to be very dark and often damp, not allowing you to enjoy the beautiful weather and views whilst inside. What we love about Villa Aurora is its spaciousness, with its high ceilings, large windows and doors, letting in lots of light, allowing you to enjoy the fantastic views of the swimming pool, beautiful gardens and lovely countryside. These be can also enjoyed from the Villa's 7 terraces, 3 of which are shaded. Every time we go onto the roof terrace that instant feeling of "WOW" never goes away. Everybody who goes up there feels exactly the same way. With the added benefit of a 300 year old trullo the property offers the best of both worlds, old and new. With our hectic lives we find the villa to be so quiet, peaceful and instantly relaxing. It is situated in a truly beautiful location and is luxurious in every way. We have landscaped the gardens to complement this with many different areas to sit and relax. It has become our haven away from the pressures of the outside world.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We had the most incredible holiday at Villa Aurora, it is amazing. So impressed by your attention to detail. Thank you so much. Peter

Thank you for letting us stay in your amazing home. We've had the most awesome time and will definitely be back again. Your hospitality is second to none and we appreciate everything you've done to make our stay so enjoyable. Matt, Charlie & Kevin

Thank you. We've just spent the most extraordinary week in what come to feel like "home". You've done such an amazing job with this house - every corner! Thank you for making us feel so welcome and taken care of! We're looking forward to the next visit. Isabel NYC

Your wonderful villa, or should I say "home" because that certainly is what you have created here. Nothing is forgotten down to the finest details. Love your decor, layout and most of all the tranquil setting. Our reason for staying was for my sister's wedding, the reason we would love to return is because we love your home. Trish

Homely special place

  • 5 of 5

Eight family members stayed in this very special home from home villa and we all felt we had our own private space yet the enviable social space the villa offered was second to none. The outside space is very special and you will not fail to recognise the thought and effort that's gone into the gardens.

There is so much to do in the villa that the only problem we encountered is that one week is simply not long enough to enjoy all it has to offer.

Linda, the proud owner of the villa, was very attentive from the day we booked, to the day we returned home and offered very useful advice and recommendations.

We can thoroughly recommend the chef; it was one of the highlights of our week (please can we have the lasagne recipe?!) and we thoroughly enjoyed Lecce and Ostuni old town.

The Puglia region is still relatively untouched by tourism and this gives it an authentic, unblemished local feel which is genuine and good value for money.

We thoroughly recommend a visit in this area and would suggest two weeks is an essential to enjoy all Villa Aurora has to offer.

Fantastic Villa for Group cycling trip!

  • 5 of 5

I booked this wonderful villa for a group cycling trip in May 2016. There were 5 couples on the trip and we thoroughly enjoyed this lovely high-end villa.

The place is fully equipped with everything needed for your stay and all the fixtures, furnishings and equipment are lovely and deluxe.

We did have Giulia cook for us on our arrival night and that really made our first day/arrival easier, and the food was really good!

After that we mostly cooked in our own meals and found everything we needed in the main kitchen.

We loved the area and enjoyed the local culture, etc. The road cycling was wonderful, with an endless stream of secondary paved roads lined with stone walls and beautiful views of valleys dotted with Trulli and church spires in the distance-- fantastic!

The house is spacious and there are plenty of rooms and bathrooms. You can ask for a copy of the floor plan to see the layout since it is not exactly setup with ensuite bathrooms for each bedroom, although there are some bedrooms setup that way.

We certainly hope to return to this villa some time in the future! Linda was a great host and her local manager was available to resolve any questions/issues promptly!

A wonderful property. A perfect holiday!

  • 5 of 5

We normally take the family each year to Tuscany, so this year was deliberately a bit different. No regrets -Puglia is a great area to explore and this villa exceptional in its detail and finish.

Villa Aurora has clearly been developed with massive attention to detail and no doubt at significant expense. The furnishings, fittings etc all of the highest standard. The grounds enjoying the same level of attention.

We had 11 in our party. All adults. Everyone delighted with the Villa and enthusiastic to stay again in the future.

There was a problem with the water supply whilst we were there, but the local manager was immediately on the case and with us within the hour. He visited several times during our stay to ensure everything was perfect.

One has to comment upon the décor. This is not furnished like a "holiday let", It is finished like a family home -expensive and interesting artefacts. Also all the beds were of high quality (so important when on a holiday) and comfortable.

The Trullo is delightful and provides some privacy for some of the group, as does the separate apartment -perfect for separating the "generations" within a party late in the evenings. The younger members of the party especially enjoyed the late evening on the roof terrace.

So in summary, we were impressed. We had a great holiday. Loved Puglia (and Puglian food). It is very likely we will look to stay here again.

Great Holiday

  • 5 of 5

The property was lovely and spacious, it fitted all the guests comfortably - there were 14 of us and everyone had space and privacy. Everyone was happy there - ages 14-over 60 yrs. The pool was delightful as the surrounding area was quiet and green. The villa was very convenient for Ostuni which was a 7/8 minute drive away and another lovely town, Ceglia Messapica, about 15 minutes away. The local petrol station - 3/4 minutes away had a surprisingly nice little supermarket attached selling fresh bread and pastries with a chiller cabinet for deli items. Sky Sports at the villa was much appreciated by the cricket fans in our group to keep up with the Ashes. We had Giulia cook for us on 5 nights of our fortnight's stay and she was delightful and the food delicious and very reasonably priced - lovely and restful especially as she sets the table, clears away and leaves everything immaculate at the end of the evening. BBQs on the roof terrace with star watching in the warm night air were lovely - we saw constellations not visible in the UK. Highly recommended: Il Cielo restuarant at La Sommita hotel in Old Ostuni - possibly the best meal we have ever had in our lives! Alberbello for trulli - like a hobbit town. Lecce for baroque architecture. We had a cookery lesson at the villa in the first week from Anna Maria Chirone and went to a cookery school near Brindisi in the second week (Stile Mediterraneo Italy) both were excellent. On the last day, after check out whilst awaiting evening flights, 6 of our party went to Viar Beach Club near Ostuni and they said it was absolutely fantastic - beach, pool, restaurant, tennis....they paid a small day membership and were able to hire towels and spend a memorable and relaxing last day before heading for the airport. Be warned - Brindisi airport is the size of a school gym hall - very limited facilities - one tiny (mobbed!) cafe beyond security, no shops, very few seats, queues for the loos - don't get there too early!

Highly recommended Villa

  • 5 of 5

The villa is situated in a quiet area, but near to Ostuni. It exceeded our expectations. The layout and facilities worked really well for us. The description was very accurate. Our whole family found everything as we hoped for. We are four generations: Granny & Grandpa, Daughter, husband with two daughters, 16 & 20, with friends. Son, wife and two young children. The layout worked really well for us- we were able to enjoy as a family, but also had our own space.

The property was in immaculate order, and very well maintained by the management team. The garden and pool were magnificent.

Linda & Chris provided us with very good customer service, and the onsite manager, Ottavio was very helpful.

We particularly liked the snooker table, and the table tennis & table soccer were well used.

We liked the beach facilities at Lido Tavernese, and would recommend the fish lunch at nearby Lido Bosco Verde.

The wonderful hill towns of Ostuni, Cisternino, Cegli Messapica and Martina Franca are highly recommended. Three restaurants, in particular we liked. Due Agnelli in Martina Franca, L'Antico Arco in Ceglie Messapica and Le Tre Lanterne in Cisternino.

We had a really good holiday at Villa Aurora, and would like to thank Linda & Chris for the use of their wonderful villa. I would highly recommend.

Beautiful property!

  • 5 of 5

Villa Aurora is beautifully furnished and very well equipped for a family holiday. We particularly like the stunning landscaped gardens and just loved picking fresh mulberries and figs off the trees. The games area and snooker table were a huge success with very lively table tennis and foosball matches. The pool area really is as wonderful as the photos show!

The location, just outside Ostuni, is great. Easy to get to from either Brindisi or Bari airports and very practical for visiting nearby towns and wonderful local restaurants.

Would warmly recommend this property to families/groups looking for a peaceful haven in a gorgeous part of Italy!

With its crystal blue sea and acres of ancient olive groves, Puglia’s landscape is very different from the rolling countryside of Tuscany and Umbria. Its sunny climate, delicious food, excellent wine and interesting history make Puglia a captivating region just waiting for you to explore.

It is still blissfully Italian, "the undiscovered corner of Italy” and has long been known as Italy’s wine cellar. It produces more than half of Italy’s olive oil production.

Puglia offers some of the best golf courses in Italy and we have two sets of golf clubs at the villa for holiday makers free use.

From the villa’s central location you can easily visit the UNESCO World Heritage sites of Alberobello and Matera, plus the Necropolis of Egnathia, the Castles of Conversano and Monopoli and the Baroque City of Lecce, which has been described as the Florence of the South.

The Ostuni countryside is tranquil and the ideal place to relax and unwind. The beautiful setting is perfect for families, friends & couples.

Ostuni is one of the most stunning towns of Southern Italy with the dazzling effect of its whitewashed houses. Hints of the middle ages are at hand in every corner of the old town, known as the "White City", la citta bianca in Italian. It is a bustling town, with many shops, restaurants and bars.

In close driving distance to the villa you are spoilt for choice for wonderful restaurants where you can sample the fantastic locally produced food, such as the delicious burrata cheese, ear shaped orecchiette pasta and an abundance of seafood, as well as the local wine. There are also many local interesting markets, Ostuni’s on a Saturday morning being the best.

During the summer there are many festivals in the surrounding towns.

There is no excuse to ever be bored, you can do as little or as much as you desire!
