Description

San Venanzo Villa Rental Photos and Description

In the middle of Umbria, between Todi and Perugia – 5 Bedrooms, 5 Bathrooms

Casale San Bartolomeo is the perfect place for a family or group holiday but also for a small group that wants to enjoy the peace and quiet of the countryside

We are at the edge of a forest but only 3 km to Marsciano, pretty village with restaurants and amenities.

We welcome children.

Built on a hill, Casale San Bartolomeo overlooks a wide valley.

The self catering Villa solution includes for the exclusive use of the visitors:

On the first floor, 5 bedrooms (3 double rooms, 2 triple rooms), each with private en-suite bathroom with shower: Room with a view, Mansfield Park, Wuthering Heights, Jane Eyre and Barry Lyndon

On the ground floor,a modern, well-equipped kitchen with dishwasher, washing machine, marble table, electric oven and gas hob/stove, fridge-freezer, toaster, coffee maker and all dining and cooking equipment;

a cosy dining area with an ancient log fireplace and a big glass table

a living room with another fireplace, 2 sofa, free wifi, TV with Sky service;

a garden with a court and 5 wood table and chairs and, of course, the swimming pool (10x7)

.

We live a few months in Umbria and others in Tuscany. When we are in Umbria, my family (my wife, our 2 daughters, 8 and 10 years and I) and I live in the private area of the property; the other part is for the guests. This means that during your stay is possible that my family is there and sometimes you have to divide with my kids the playground in the garden and the pool.

We personally ensure that the well-being of our guests is attended to each and every day.

To make the beginning of your stay start smoothly we are happy to prepare for you a typical Umbrian dinner

We also organise cooking lesson, trip and wine & food tours and we ll’ help you for every kind of information you need.

About Gabriele Ungaro

We live a few months in Umbria and others in Tuscany. When we are in Umbria, my family (my wife, our 2 daughters, 8 and 10 years and I) and I live in the private area of the property; the other part is for the guests. This means that during your stay is possible that my family is there and sometimes you have to divide with my kids the playground in the garden and the pool.

We personally ensure that the well-being of our guests is attended to each and every day.

To make the beginning of your stay start smoothly we are happy to prepare for you a typical Umbrian dinner

Why Gabriele Ungaro chose Terni area

If you are looking for an oasis of peace and tranquility, a refuge from the noise and the frenetic pace of the city, if look around and see nothing but trees and hills that does not feel alone; if the sudden encounter with a fox or a deer, and the appearance of a hawk or an eagle above your heads still excites you, if this is your idea of a vacation, then you are in the right place. We are waiting for.

What makes this villa unique

Try a typical Umbrian dinner!!

I’m Gabriele, the owners of this propriety and I love to cook . On request I offer home cooked meals (healthy and delicious). My supper is organized on the basis of a concept of hospitality in a private house, open to all those who appreciate healthy and want to stay in a simple, relaxed atmosphere.

Guests have to choose a fixed menu. Specify if you require a special diet (vegetarian, gluten-free, lactose-free; etc.) and what you don’t like, for example, garlic, onion, pepper, red pepper, wild boar, rabbit, etc)

Choose your favorite menu:

Classic Menu: This is a fixed menu that includes an appetizer, a first, a second, fruit and drinks

Brunch menu: This is a fixed menu that includes all cold dishes: appetizer, salad, fruit, drinks, pasta/rice

Gluten free and/or Vegetarian menu: This is a fixed menu that includes an appetizer, a first, a second, fruit and drinks

Kids menu: pasta with tomato and meatball or hamburger

Baby menu: pasta with tomato and fruit

Peace in the countryside

  • 5 of 5

Staying at San Bartolomeo is more than a holiday for it offers a truly authentic yet highly personal experience of Italy.

Yes, there is the beautiful, shady

Umbrian farmhouse with magnificent views over the surrounding countryside, the lure of the swimming pool. The peace of the shrub filled garden with well equipped play area. But it is the hospitality offered by Gabriele and Anna Ungaro that makes it really special. They are a discreet presence in the background, happy to give advice or help where needed. For for Gabriele to cook one of his delicious meals meals or provide cookery/Italian lessons. Their children equally helpful. Despite the lack of a downstairs cloakroom, we cannot recommend it too highly.

Distances:

Although in a rural location, the casale of San Bartolomeo is only 3km from Marsciano, a pretty village with many shops and excellent local restaurants. Marsciano is in the middle of Umbria and an ideal base for day trips to all of Umbria’s most beautiful and famous ancient ‘cities of art’. Todi, Perugia, Assisi and Bevagna are a thirty-minute drive away, while Spoleto and Orvieto are about forty-five minutes away. Rome and Florence can be each reached in less than two hours.

Special interest holidays:

During summer innumerable sagre (local celebrations with typical local foods) in the villages and towns around San Bartolomeo take place and are well worth seeing. Nature lovers will appreciate San Bartolomeo’s proximity to the nature reserve of Monte Peglia and the Meana forest, both ideal places for hiking or bike riding. Perugia (only 25 minutes from San Bartolomeo) is a popular destination for cultural and gastronomic events such as the Umbria Jazz Festival in July and the chocolate festival in October.

Travel:

By car you can take the A1 highway towards Rome and then Take the exit for Orte and follow the E45 towards Terni-Perugia. By train your destination stop is Marsciano (3km from San Bartolomeo) or Todi (15km from San Bartolomeo). We are about 30 minutes from Perugia International Airport. Ryanair has flights into and out of Perugia from London (Stansted) and Barcelona. Car pick-up from the train station or airport can be arranged if requested in advance.
