About Irina zarb
Michael and I moved to this peaceful hamlet in 1997. We fell in love with the location and the landscape. We love the dry stone walls and the dry stone huts which can be found in the woods that surround the property. We both have lived over 40 years in France, mostly in Paris. Michael is a translator and author and works from home. I am now retired (since January 2019) and am looking forward to working full time on the garden. We live next door to the villa, but are extremely discreet. You only see us if you need us!

Why Irina zarb chose Savignac-les-Églises
The location was perfect for us. Both my children were still at school when we moved and it isn't too far from the Périgueux where they went to school and where I worked. We liked the fact that the gite was next to our main house, but at the same time totally private.
What makes this Villa unique
The house is surrounded by our walnut groves. There are no main roads near the house as we are in a cul-de-sac. Both the house where we live and the villa are on the edge of the hamlet and the grass path that separates the two properties leads onto 400 hectares of woodland. There there are numerous walks and trails (including an art trail and two dry stone architecture trails).

Lovely house in a beautiful part of the world
We really enjoyed our stay. It’s a lovely house on the edge of a small quite hamlet with views of farm land and woods. No neighbours are looking into the property or garden so it feels very private. The house was very spacious. Due to the hot weather, and with young children, we spent most of the week in the pool. New Bakery opened a couple of weeks beforehand which was excellent, 25 mins walk or a few minutes by car. Really lovely part of France and we would definitely recommend.
Peace and Tranquillity
Great house and pool in a truly rural location, with very large grounds to the rear.
Cycling, walking and tourist attractions galore in the Perigord.
Nearest supermarket Excedeuil 15 minutes, new Boulangerie less than 5 mins drive away opening June 7.
Fantastic location so peaceful. The pool was wonderful and refreshing in the hot sun.
The property was fantastic and so peaceful. All you could ask for, our children loved their time swimming and playing in the pool so did we. We could not recommend the place more. Our biggest regret was having to leave even though we were going to Paris. We will definitely return. It was wonderful meeting Irina and Micheal the hosts, thank you so much.
Thank you Mark for your great review. It was lovely having you as guests. We hope to see you and Cathy and your girls again in the near future.

We had an amazing time at Le Bost. The walks straight from the garden were perfect for our 3 kids and dog. We spent lazy days by the pool and thoroughly enjoyed our relaxing break. Plenty to see and do nearby if you want explore the Perigord.
It was great to have you all in our house! It would be lovely to have you stay again as you said you might.
Great Family Holiday
Beautiful villa, in a delightful setting!
We had a fantastic family holiday, and was able to mix day trips visiting local attractions (there are many) with lazy days around the pool. The location is very remote/rural and private, a great place to get away from it all and relax. The children loved looking out for the foxes that came out in the evening in the fields opposite.
Irana and Michael live 'next door' but you don't actually see them, unless you go and knock their door. The guys were really friendly and helpful, otherwise they leave you to enjoy your holiday. The villa is modern inside and very comfortable. Could do with a larger TV, but meant we didn't watch it much, which was a good thing. I would have given a five star rating if there was a local baker or café within walking distance. A car is essential every time you leave the villa, unless you are enjoying the country walking routes which you can pick-up right outside the villa. I would be very happy to recommend this property and Irana & Michael.
Thanks very much for your comments! We're very happy that you and your family enjoyed your stay so much.
We are planning to get a larger TV screen this year although quite a few of our guests say they didn't miss watching it. There is so much going on out there starting with the pool and wildlife!
A boulangerie is opening in September. We have bicycles for the use of our guests and the village is only a 10 minutes ride down the hill and a little longer on the way back.
We hope very much to see you again.

A lovely house in a beautiful setting
We have had several holidays here and we keep returning. The house is lovely with everything you could need and an attractive pool area.
Its the setting that captivates us, the house looks out onto walnut groves and woods and its a real pleasure to sit with a glass of wine and watch the sun go down watching the swallows and waiting for the deer to appear from the woods.
There's lots of wildlife round about and if you're interested in birds there's a huge variety.
I would recommended it to anyone.
Thank you for your great review. We love having you to stay in La Treille and enjoy your daily wildlife reports! We hope to see you next year.
