Norfolk and East Anglia is one of the few relatively unspoilt parts of England. The historic centres of Norwich, Cambridge and Bury St Edmunds are a delight with museums, galleries theatres and shopping centres. The apartment is located in mid Norfolk which gives easy access to each of the above towns and cities as well as the beautiful north Norfolk coast. We enjoyed this luxurious apartment with its excellent open views. Near to the centre of Watton with shops and eating places and within easy reach of many lovely places to visit - it was the ideal holiday location. So often holiday lets do not meet expectations - this one certainly did.

Notes on accommodation: Unfortunately we are unable to accept pets and there is no smoking inside the property. Heat and smoke alarms, fire blanket and fire extinguisher are provided as well as fire doors where required. Outside: The apartment has a patio with table and chairs and a BBQ. A small lawned area and low fence separates the property from the 18th fairway of the golf club. The twin patio doors of the living room give lots of natural daylight into the room as well as affording lovely views over the golf course. A car port provides parking for two cars with further parking available in the golf club car park. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Duvets, towels and Supima cotton linen are provided. Cleaning service at changeover. Change of linen for two week stays. Linen is not provided for the Greco travel cot.

Excellent self catering accommodation in a peaceful location.

Plenty of room for four people, although we were only two. Quiet location with a lovely view over the golf course from the lounge and garden. We saw beautiful sunsets, deer crossing the golf course on two occasions, and plenty of bird song (late May, early June). We would go there again and will certainly recommend it to friends.

Only disappointment, and nothing to do with the accommodation, is the nearby Club House at the excellent Richmond Park Golf Club. It would have been a short walk away for an evening meal, but the menu looked very basic and they stop serving food at 4.00pm.

The Golf Club restaurant opening times and menus vary a great deal depending on other bookings they have particularly in the evenings as most of the trade is during the day. Luckily there are some nice restaurants in the town within walking distance as well as others in nearby villages. We had a wonderful three night break with our parents, one who has a mobility issue, so the walk in shower and bedrooms on one level were ideal. Geoff was a great host and a font of local knowledge. The facilities and location were excellent and Geoff's restaurant recommendations were spot on. We would definitely book this accommodation again and would recommend it to friends and family. Well done Geoff, however the photos do not give the accommodation the credit it deserves.

Spacious and comfortable apartment on the edge of the village - easy to relax - especially in the garden overlooking the golf course. Several restaurants / pubs within 15-20 minute walk. A great base for exploring the area.

Another perfect stay

This must be around my sixth or seventh stay at Fairway View.

As usual I’ll repeat one takes the photos with a pinch of salt and you expect worse in reality, but in this case what you see is what you get. It was beautiful, spotless and smelt nice and fresh. You can park your car under a car port right outside, so if raining you don’t get wet getting luggage in.

It was spotless and fresh accommodation with one double bedroom and one twin bedroom, each with plenty of storage (wardrobe space and drawer space). Bathroom had a lot of towels provided, 6 if I remember. Sky TV with lots of channels. Nice touches like milk in the fridge, packet of chocolate biscuits and tea / coffee, and the kitchen and appliances were spotless and worked like they would at home. Drying rack and baby cot are also provided (very rare), along with baby booster chair. 6 seat dining table

Comfy leather couch with recliners each side, and two arm chairs provide comfy seating for 5 in the lounge, dishwasher tablets and laundry powder. Stunning setting right on the golf course, spent each evening enjoying glass of wine reading the papers watching the sunset and dusk golfers.

Two sets of patio doors that can be opened out on to the golf course. There is a table outside with plenty of chairs for alfresco dining. Decent 10MB wifi (for Norfolk)

Can’t recommend enough.

The marvellous north Norfolk coast beaches including Holkham and Hunstanton (the only west facing beach on the east coast!),bird watching marshes as well as interesting small towns such as Wells-next-the-Sea, Holt and the seaside resorts of Cromer and Sheringham are all under an hours drive from Fairway View.


We would recommend a car to enable you to explore the lovely Breckland area and beyond. The nearest airports are Norwich approx 25 miles and Stansted approx 68 miles. The nearest stations are Thetford approx 10 miles and Norwich approx 20 miles. Bus services to various locations operate from the High St which is a few minutes walk from Fairway View.

Watton is a small market town in the beautiful Breckland area of Norfolk. The High Street has a good selection of shops, banks, Boots and a Somerfield/Co-op as well as a great bakery and a superb butcher who does a roaring lunchtime trade in various hot roast rolls. A Tesco store is approx 200 yards from the High Street. Chinese, Indian and Italian restaurants and various takeaways are available. Town centre pubs and country pubs in nearby villages. The golf clubhouse has a spike bar with snacks as well a nice restaurant. Watton also has a very well equipped gymnasium and sports centre within jogging distance! A great base for exploring the many delights of Norfolk and East Anglia.
