About Jackie Wildig
A warm welcome will await you at Stone farm, our family home. Our family consists of: Me, Jackie, I am an infant school cover teacher. I love to cook and especially enjoy baking, probably inherited from my dad, a baker himself. Mark, my husband, works in the oil and gas industry. He is a whizz at fixing things. Sam, our son is very mechanical and understands most things technical. (I'm sure Mark and Sam speak a different language to me!) Daisy is a Golden Retriever and is very friendly but rather bouncy! She loves anything from chasing her tail to stealing plant pots! Minnie, our cat, arrived about four years ago and decided to stay. She's good at getting locked in!
Jackie Wildig purchased this Barn in 2002
Why Jackie Wildig chose Swimbridge
We moved to Stone Farm thirteen years ago. We all fell in love with it instantly. The position was just what we wanted, peaceful, private, no near neighbours and when we were told there were Bluebells in our own woods, in Spring, we were hooked! We have spent the last ten years renovating the house and it's many barns, in fact Mark has become a bit of a 'barn spotter', pointing out 'nice barns' wherever we go! We are very fussy and have endeavoured to make sure that all our own high standards have been met in Meadow and Orchard Barn. The builders often got frustrated with our 'nit picking', but when the barns were completed in April 2010, even they had to admit that it had all been worth it and that the finished result was 'a proper job'!
What makes this Barn unique
Stone Farm is in an excellent position for touring North Devon, close to beaches, Barnstaple and the Moors. It is set in over 80 acres of it's own land, meaning it is peaceful and quiet and there is lots for guests to explore including a nature trail through private woodland. The barns are extremely spacious, contemporary and equipped only with new, good quality, fixtures and fittings. We are very proud of what we have achieved and are delighted that it has been rated as A star or the 'best' by many of our guests.

This accommodation is excellent. It is very tastefully furnished has the best quality wood fitments I have ever seen and Jackie, the owner, has provided just about every facility for a perfect holiday venue. Is perfectly peaceful and so dark at night is almost unreal.
Our four days here were just perfect. We would recommend this accommodation without any hesitation what-so-ever.
The location, down some very quiet and narrow lanes, is ideally placed for visiting, as we did, Clovelly, Lynton, Lynmouth, Westwood Ho!, Bude and Appledore.
Charming detached barn conversion.
Good looking and really well presented home ,Jackie the owner was very welcoming and makes lovely cake!
Had a lovely 3 day break. The Barn is so warm and cosy and would highly recommend - facilities excellent. Jackie was very welcoming hopefully we will return. Thank you Jackie.
Wonderful, modern barn. Beautifully decorated and very well appointed. All the conveniences you can ask for. The owners could not be more helpful including Sam, the son. On extra benefit we really enjoyed was the ping-pong table in a separate barn...
Property very hard to find the first time but very comvenient to Barnstable and surroundings.
The little things matter
We stayed at the Orchard Barn mid August which was lovely.
Jackie was great and gave us a quick tour then left us to it which was great. The cottage was excellent, the standards were good, the room sizes ideal, but it was the attention to the little things that made a difference for us. The towels left to use, the sky tv package, the equipment in the kitchen equipment, the woodland walk details and even a lovely cake left for us at the start of the week all made things a little more personal. It was simply a home from home. We were very impressed, it has been the best venue yet for us and this was the forth time we've booked a cottage holiday in the UK.
Location wise it's good for the surrounding areas so long as you're up for 30 minute drives and a few side roads. So quiet and tranquil too. The beaches around are amazing and there's lots to do for all ages but wherever you go you'd need travel.
One thing to note is that the cottage does have lovely views but the side looks onto the other cottage, however we didn't find this intrusive.
Would we go back? Yes in a blink if we decided to go to North Devon again.
Thank you Jackie. We had a lovely week and your accommodation was outstanding 5☆
