About Sally Read
This is our family home and we have been moving out for the summer holiday rentals for over 15 years now. We pride ourselves on the fact that this means that all furniture and equipment is comfortable and homely and that you have everything you need for your stay. We have three children and know from experience that there is ample room for running around and playing, both inside and out. We have lived in Lamanva for over 20 years and it is a lovely quiet area, with other families living close by, but without noise, disturbance or noisy traffic.
Sally Read purchased this Barn in 1998
Why Sally Read chose Falmouth
The space around the barn is plentiful, parking for a number of cars, boats or trailers and although only a few minutes from villages and Falmouth town, you really do feel you are in the country. Helford Passage is a short drive away, there is a lovely pub serving great food and a safe beach for children to swim, go crabbing, jump from the pontoon. The rooms are spacious and there is plenty of space for families to spread out. There are two gardens, one a deck and one is lawned with a patio and so the sun can be enjoyed all day.
What makes this Barn unique
Loads of parking space and a good sized garden for playing, barbecuing, sunbathing, eating out. Plenty of rooms inside to have space to yourselves, with good social areas in dining, kitchen and lounge. All rooms are good sizes with 5 loo's around the house, so no queuing!

Well equipped house - great location
Home from home
We stayed in the barn with our family who visited from South Africa. The house offers something for everyone. Ouma loved the snug for some P&Q. Oupa loved the garden and cooking on the BBQ and the kids didn't stop playing outside. The house is a short drive from Falmouth and with great access to the beach for a spot of surfing. We took our bikes and the space to park cars etc was well used. Thanks for such an amazing holiday. We will be back. Love the Kriels xx
Holiday at the Barn
A wonderful property! Well equipped and comfortable for our 2 families. Loved the open plan downstairs so we could all be in the same place but in our own space.
Bedrooms comfortable and bathrooms spotless apart from a few cobwebs!
Loved the location as a great base for exploring both the north and south coasts. Only downsides were that the runners in our group couldn't go for runs directly from the barn as no footpaths/pavements, and the mobile line was weak and intermittent.
Overall we had a great stay and a super holiday and we had wonderful weather!
Stunning property, photos don’t do it justice , perfect family holiday , great location. Will definitely book again 👍
Fantastic property, all it needed was a pub within walking distance
Plenty of room for all the extended family, lots of places to visit not to far away.
Stunning property, great location, highly recommened
When you walk through the door of 3, Lamanva Barns, it definitely has the wow factor. Stunning interior with open plan layout, it really lives up to its 5* rating. The kitchen/dining area is perfect for a large group and the living room has plenty of room for everyone, with an extremely comfortable corner sofa and large TV. There is also a little snug room which could be very useful especially if, like us, you are a multi generation party.
Upstairs there is an incredible master bedroom with an equally impressive en suite. All of the rooms were spacious and could accommodate the travel cot we had taken.
Outside the garden space was great for the children with the slide, swings etc.
The property is in a good location for nearby attractions, however be prepared for the narrow, windy, country lanes!!
Overall, I would highly recommend this accommodation, however, what surprised us was a lack of certain household items I would have expected in a property of this calibre. There are 3 bathrooms and 2 downstairs loos but only one had any handwash in them; no cling film, tin foil, matches or firelighters for the bbq - make sure you take your own. Also, if you have young children I'd suggest taking a stair gate as the staircase is slippery wood with gaps in-between each step. The property does not provide any spare bedding, so again, if you have young children you may want to take some spare linen.
Overall, we had a thoroughly enjoyable stay. We did have a couple of issues, however the owners dealt with them promptly, so it did not impact on our holiday. Thank you to them for everything they did for us.
Thank you for your lovely review and we're really glad you had a great stay. There is usually some spare linen so I need to check as to why that wasn't available, similarly foil, cling film as well. It's a good pointer on the stair gate, we haven't offered travel cots and high chairs for a while as people usually have brought their own, the stair gate is a good point to suggest, thank you again.
