Bury Hill Farm, Winterbourne, Bristol is set within 8 acres of private grounds with a long driveway off a country lane, part of a small holding farm. Just 15 minutes by car to Bristol and 20-25 minutes to Bath. There are chickens, a small number of cows, calves and a couple of horses. The farmhouse is surrounded by fields and is completely separate from the farmyard. With views of the garden and surrounding fields. It has a south facing, private, fenced garden. The farmhouse is fully furnished, all large bedrooms with plenty of space (not over crowded with too many beds to make up numbers. Room sizes are detailed below). The farmhouse is perfect for large families or groups of friends wanting to stay away together. Unfortunately we can not accept all male groups. Easy access to the historic cities of Bristol and Bath. Avon cycle way minutes away. Ample parking for 6 vehicles. 3 pubs within walking distance, 2 of which do excellent food. A deposit of £250 is required to book, we can't hold bookings without the deposit
I've always lived in Bristol, I'm married with 3 lovely grown up children.
Clare purchased this farmhouse in 1994
The location of the house allow easy access to so many places in Bristol, Bath and beyond.
The Ground floor in particular is excellent for social gatherings, surrounded by a beautiful south facing garden and large patio. You can enjoy the patio in the sun all day.
The place is fantastic, everything and more than we could have asked for.Totally separate from the farm, We shopped until we dropped in Bristol and Bath.
I have stayed in many places across Europe and have to say this was the most well-equipped and welcoming place ever. Clare made sure we were happy with everything and was on hand if there were any probs. I would absolutely recommend BH Farm to large groups wanting somewhere to chill out or explore the surrounding area or both,as we did!
We have had a lovely week at the farm. The cottage is well equipped and just like home from home. We were invited to watch the sheep being sheared and to meet the farm animals and Clare and her family were very welcoming. Our 19 month old daughter became friends with the cows, or the moos ad they were known to her, and she is still asking for them now!! Thank-you for a lovely relaxing holiday!

Just wanted to say thank you for a fantastic weekend stay at Bury Hill Farm! We were there for a hen weekend and the house seemed almost designed for that purpose. It's so pretty and the bedroom set up was ideal for our large group. All of the hens were overwhelmed by the house and commented on what a good find it was. It was spotlessly clean and had every amenity you could think of. For anything you couldn't find, the friendly owner was on hand. Clare was there when we arrived to talk us through anything we needed to know and show us how to operate things. She couldn't have been more helpful for our stay. She took delivery of a hot tub for us before our arrival and was round within a couple of minutes to lend us a Bluetooth speaker we'd forgotten to bring. It was great knowing Clare was there if we needed anything yet it still felt completely private.
The farm is ideally situated for exploring Bristol with it only being a 15 minute car journey. Clare has preferential rates with local taxi firms which came in handy.
I would happily go there on a family holiday with my young children as they would love the farm and the enclosed garden is ideal. Equally, I would highly recommend for a large group of friends or family.
Really hope I get the opportunity to visit again!
Absolutely brilliant stay at this cosy cottagey type house - Clare the owner even left logs in burner so we were able to have a fire when it snowed unexpectedly in March!!
Only reason for four stars instead of five is in case you are after somewhere closer to Bristol and/or in need of ‘mod cons’ and brand new condition.
Absolutely perfect, thankyou xx
My family all met at Bury Hill Farm, 12 in total. The accommodation was very spacious and caterered to all our needs. Everything was there that you could want. The location was easy to find for all as we were arriving from different locations in England. The house is in a beautiful setting. We had some fresh eggs for breakfast which the owner let my young son collect, which he loved doing. We enjoyed evenings sat around the log burner and enjoyed family meals sat around the huge kitchen table. We all loved staying there and are looking forward to returning soon.
The house was in a beautiful rural setting and was very pretty, cosy and comfortable. It was a fabulous size for our family of 8 adults and 5 children. The kitchen was well equipped and the whole layout was conducive to a perfect family weekend. We loved being so close to the farm animals and enjoyed a pretty walk to the local pub (with gorgeous food and a roaring fire). The owner was delightful to deal with and we really couldn’t fault anything. Will definitely book again for next year xxx
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Bury Hill Farm last weekend. We had booked for a Hen Do and found the cottage to be fully equipped with everything we needdd. Had some lovely little touches around the house including bunting which gave it a very nice, homely feel. Clare was very accommodating with arrival times and any issues we had and checked in to ensure that all was okay. Thoroughly recommend for a weekend away or hen do!
Lovely farmhouse with everything we needed for 12 people. We stayed there for a birthday party weekend and it was great fun. We did eat out one night at the Willy Wicket, which was very near and easily walked, and lovely food. Catering for 12 was easy at the farmhouse, everything we needed was there. It as great fun.
