This "casale" has stunning views over Orvieto and Rocca Ripesena. It is set in the midst of a 50 acres estate surrounded by olive trees and woods. Very secluded. Wonderful swimming pool 12 x 6 meters. Lovely gardens. Also has a vegetable garden and lots of fruit trees. The roses and whisteria give wonderful relaxing smells . The house is a typical local "casale" very comfortable with fire places and a fabulous pergola to dine "al fresco"

Hello ! I am a fashion photographer, I've lived in London , loving it ,for 19 years. Am now in Orvieto and occasionally travelling to Milano, Paris and London for Italian Vogue. My girlfriend, her son (aged 16), my son (aged 13) and myself live on the estate in a totally seperate house. I tend to always think positive (there are never problems, only solutions !). Looking forwards to meet you! P.S. This is a very "fashion pic of me!"
Bardo purchased this Villa in 1980
Why Bardo chose Orvieto
Because it has the most beautiful position and view. It also is totally secluded and away from reality !!! I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it ( one needed an enormous amount of imagination as it was practically non existent.
What makes this Villa unique
Total peace, although only 4 miles from Orvieto.

A majestic view and a magical atmosphere
Property is as lovely as advertised, Bardo is a gracious host and was extremely helpful. The house is a 2.7 kilometer ride from the village and in the dark can be challenging. The vistas, birds, flowering shrubs, roses and the kitchen garden we’re fabulous. Everyone loved the pool, outdoor dining and the view that never stops !!! Thank you Vardo for a lovely stay and great memories.
Darling Fran ,
we miss you and all your family ! It was a great great pleasure to have you visit us at "la Carota" ! I loved our little conversations .... I hope to see you soon again ! Bardo
We spent 4 weeks at this villa, using it as a home base for our travels around Italy. The villa had plenty of space for 2 families and Bardo was very responsive when we asked for anything. I recommend to anyone!
Doesn't get better
We just spent ten days with the Duke and couldtn speak more highly of the place. La Carotta has got to have the best View of Orvieto. it is perched at the top of of a rivine overlooking the staggeringly beautiful Giovanni Pisanno Duomo. As the sun goes down the sunlight lights up the jutting sandstone rock face on which Orvieto is mounted. It really is the most beautiful thing to see.
If you wake up early Orvieto hovers ethereally over the mist, it really is magical.
The house is done with style, Bardo the owner is a photographer for Vogue so the place has been done with taste. Its practical and great for kids.
If your lucky Bardo will come down and cook you dinner. He is a hell of a character, and never fails to entertain.
We have had a very happy time, thank you La Carotta!
I have stayed at La Carota a number of times and I can never wait to return to this magical hill-top house with its unforgettable views of Orvieto. My children have always said that staying at La Carota with its
enchanting gardens and beautiful pool was the best family holiday ever.
But La Carota is perfect for adults who just want to relax and explore
the area. Bardo Fabiani, the effervescent owner, is always at hand to help, advise and even to cook. Bliss!
We had a wonderful large family holiday at La Carota. Outstanding location, stunning views of Orvieto, quite close to the town and the autostrada for sightseeing.
Extensive well kept grounds and marvellous pool make it ideal for children. Not a modernised house, but spacious and flexible accommodation and exceptionally well equipped kitchen make it excellent for catering for a large group.
Charming owner Bardo always on hand to help, advise, and , in our case, cook superbly!
