About Linda Anderson
My husband and I are retired and love the New Forest area. We have been doing holiday rentals in this apartment for a few years and find it ideal, it covers the costs needed for the upkeep and means we can enjoy staying there when it is not rented out.
Linda Anderson purchased this Apartment in 2006
Why Linda Anderson chose New Milton
This apartment is in such a great location, just a few mins walk to the top of the cliffs at Barton and only a 10 mins drive to the forest. We bought this apartment after seeing several properties we liked but thought this was the best place for a holiday home. Such a lovely bright modern apartment in a quiet location but near to so many attractions and places of interest. The pub at the end of the road is ideal if you don't want to drive or cook plus a short walk to the cliffs and you will find a hotel serving food, a cafe and a Mitchelin Star restaurant. It was all this that made us realise it was the place for our holiday home. We hope you agree.
What makes this Apartment unique
Whilst using the apartment you have the benefit of living in a bright, airy, modern and exceptionally clean home. A great place to come back to after a day out. From the front windows, the kitchen & 2nd bedroom you can view the charming old terraced houses and from the back, the lounge and the main bedroom, the view is of the gardens. Barton-on-Sea is certainly a great place to stay, so central to everywhere you will want to visit whilst on holiday. All the small New Forest Villages, Burley, Lymington, Brockenhurst, Lyndhurst etc are within easy reach as well as the bigger towns of Southampton, Bournemouth & Portsmouth etc. It is a great destination for adults and children alike.

A convenient base to visit so many beauty spots: inland and coastal.
The maisonette is cleaned to a high, professional standard. It is tastefully and thoughtfully decorated providing most items one needs for a happy holiday. Thank you.
Excellent Property - Superb Value
To be fair, I don't think the listing does this property justice. We were really pleasantly surprised when we arrived. The flat is a maisonette, occupying the top two floors, with a spacious living room & kitchen at the top of the entrance stairs, and two bedrooms and a bathroom (I think the bathroom) is described somewhere as a "Jack & Jill" - and it isn't, fortunately, it is simply a bathroom with its own door!).
It's all modern, well equipped and spacious, TV's in both bedrooms and the living room, good quality beds (King Size in double room) - all really good. Good wifi, strong signal throughout too.
Although there isn't a dedicated parking space outside (and plenty of cars needing spaces) there is plenty of room in the street, as well as the 7 bays outside the block, so you won't struggle.
The flat is very competitively priced, it is 10 mins from the cliffs/sea (and there's a lovely hotel/bar with beer garden for those views at the end of the main road).
It provides very easy access to Lymington (best town in the New Forest in our opinion) and the rest of the New Forest is in easy reach. Bournemouth, Poole. Brownsea Island, Swanage to the west, Portsmouth, Isle of Wight, Chichester, Winchester, Salisbury, all easily accessed to the north & east - it's just a great spot with plenty of new places to see, if like us you're not from that part of the world.
Your hosts are lovely, helpful and responsive if you want to ask them anything - basically it's just one of the best places we've ever rented - property/location/price/amenities - it is all good. I can say no more than that.
Thank you for a great review, you were a really good guest and we would welcome you back anytime. Your review is much appreciated.
Perfect for a beach break
Very clean and modern plus it's walking distance to the beach and a great pub. Will definitely be returning!
Fantastic apartment and location
This apartment is simply the best. We really enjoyed our stay there over the Christmas period. It's location is perfectly placed near to the New Forest, Bournemouth and easy to grab a train to London if you fancy some time there. The apartment is extremely clean and has everything you need. A real "home-from-home". We would totally recommend this property.
Great spacious clean flat
Great spacious and well appointed flat but the lack of proper shower and washing machine a real draw back. Also parking in the evening a nightmare
In the advert detailing the flat it does say that there is not a washing machine, we preferred to install a dish washer. Also one of the pictures in the advert clearly shows a corner bath with a shower included and this is the first negative comment we have had about the shower. Concerning the parking, again we have never had a complaint, there are plenty of spaces but not always directly in front of the apartments.
We have now fitted a new pump and the shower is great, plenty of pressure, still no washing machine but launderette just around the corner. anyway, who wants to do washing on holiday?
The apartment was exceptionally clean, well equipped and very tastefully styled. Location is within walking distance of the sea front and close to a bus stop. Good cliff top walks. All of which contributed to a great week. Contact with the owner at all times was excellent
Thank you for your nice comments. Linda.
Approximately 7 minutes walk to the top of the cliffs at Barton-on-Sea. From here Highcliffe and Mudeford can be reached by walking, which would take about 20 minutes. Alternatively, drive to Highcliffe in a few minutes where there are long stretches of golden sand. Bournemouth is about 20-30 minutes drive and here you can find some of the best beaches on the South Coast.
The nearest airports are Bournemouth and Southampton. A car is not essential but recommended for ease of travel.
The nearest main towns by car are New Milton (5 mins), Highcliffe (5 mins), Christchurch (10 mins), Lymington (15 mins), Bournemouth (20-30 mins). Many small villages and places of interest are close by.
Pub/restaurant, The House Martin, is a few minutes walk, very good food, reasonably priced, great for families. On the cliff tops at Barton for breakfast, try the Beachcomber Cafe or for a special treat have lunch or dinner (must book) at the Pebble Beach which boasts a Mitchelin Star Chef. Numerous pubs and restaurants can be found by driving through the forest. The nearest supermarkets are in Highcliffe and New Milton along with banks and Post offices. There is a small village shop/post office/hairdresser within walking distance. There are many activities to participate in, for all ages, such as, horse riding, bike riding, crab fishing, sailing, swimming, kite flying, to name a few.
