Located in the heart of Etruscan Tuscany, a short distance from the small town of Pomarance. Situated at the end of a ridge, one side facing Volterra, the villa has uninterrupted views over a long valley. The location is exceptional, tranquil, with stunning views over traditional Tuscan rolling countryside. The villa was recently restored, and is now divided into two fully independent homes. While traditional features such as beamed ceilings and terracotta tiles have been maintained, the kitchens, bathrooms and facilities are all modern and of the highest quality, which means that you can enjoy your stay in traditional Tuscan style, and have all the modern amenities you need to ensure real comfort. Ideal for families holidaying together, each house has 3 comfortable bedrooms, 2 x double, 1 x twin, fully equipped kitchen, large bathroom. The large private pool has wonderful views over the countryside. The villa sits in 8 acres of its own grounds, olive grove, pasture and woodland.

Another wonderful holiday in a relaxing and beautiful location. Again the owners ensured that staying here was simple and hassle free and that the house lived up to expectations.
The house is well equipped with a good dishwasher, washing machine and comfortable beds; and the pool and gardens are maintained every day. As a location Pisa and Florence are only about 1 hour away whilst the local hilltop towns of Volterra and Libbiano are 20 minutes.
There are a number of restaurants in the area and good local shops so dining in or eating out are both viable options. The local town of Pomarance is friendly with many people speaking English, although some basic Italian is useful.
We will definitely be returning to Casa Edoardo.
This is a wonderful property managed by very friendly owners who helped make our stay very relaxing and trouble free. The property was clean, tidy, well maintained and very comfortable and the pool was also excellent and cleaned every day.
The location is excellent with stunning views over the valley and easy access to nearby sights, towns, restaurants and places to visit - Volterra and Libbiano are both recommended for sights and views. As a family we had plenty to do both at the villa and in the surrounding area, and can't wait to go back again.
I can only say we had a wonderful time in Pomarance. As stated in other reviews, the owners guaranteed relaxation from the minute we arrived due to the detailed and helpful information provided prior to and during our stay. Every need was met - which was no mean feat given the spectrum of our family - 7 year old and granny alike!
The weather was very hot which meant that we decided against a few trips. It really was no sacrifice as the house, pool and view where so beautiful and restful. The house was immaculate with every facility you could need. And the pool ....great fun for the kids and a little spot of heaven for the grown ups. Time seemed to stand still with many hours spent keeping cool in the pool, mesmerised by the view, sipping on a chilled Lemon Soda or two.
As it was Feria d'agosto also, there was a great festival in the town on the Wednesday eve followed by the big market on Thursday which we thoroughly enjoyed.
We have stayed in a number if places across Tuscany but nowhere so beautiful as here and in such a brilliant location for Tuscany's top attractions. Pomarance is a delightful town with delightful people too. We've only scratched the surface of everything we can do - so we'll definitely be back for more...and no doubt more again.
I have to say that i initially booked this villa not only because of the way it looked but because of the helpful owners. Everything i asked was answered with more than i could have expected. Nothing was a hassle to the owner and they were on hand to help with everything and anything i needed. This helped make our stay totally stress free as i was armed with all the information i needed. Upon arriving at the villa we were blown away with how stunning it is. No photos could ever do it any justice. The villas are big, roomy and airy and decorated very tastefully and in keeping with tuscan style. They were lovely and clean inside and everything was there that we needed. The pool was a very good size and it was cleaned daily first thing in the morning. There are lots of nice little seating areas and we moved around the villa and pool according to the sun. At night there was a nice cool breeze through the valley which was welcoming after a hot day. The shops are only a 15-20 minute walk or 5 minute drive from the villa so everything is near and handy. Overall, we loved our stay at this villa and feel that the stay was made even better by the owners and we will be back very soon.
My wife and I had a late summer break at Casa Eduardo. It was ideal. Weather fine , 20+C during the day so we could sunbathe and read those books we wanted to read all year. The location is as peaceful and beautiful as you can hope for with unbroken views across a typical tuscan hilly landscape and at night the panorama of stars led to some wine filled evenings with a star guide on the web. Within easy distance of the necessary shops in Pomarance and hassle free days out at Volterra, San Gimignano, Sienna - main attractions of Tuscany.
Mark's dealing with the booking was excellent; l'olio d'oliva della casa was squisito and the hospitality with Enrich (agent) on arrival and subsequent efficiency ( the entry code for internet had changed) were first rate. Only hassle was car rental at Pisa airport( make sure you pay with credit not debit card), a small and lovely airport + a 1-1.5 car ride to Pomarance thru Tuscany. Very suitable for families with young children too since you are away from roads. My teenage children won't come away with us to anywhere so no comment on that one in the ratings ! Certainly a villa we would return to . 9/10 (one point deducted for pool being a little chilly in Oct for leisure time swimmers used to a heated pool - mid summer probably different).
We rented one of the three bed houses for a week for some late summer sun. Although we were well prepared thanks to the help of the very friendly owners, we were still blown away by the beauty of it all. stunning location, a very well finished house (and well stocked) and a brilliant chance for us to enjoy a relaxing week in and around the pool, as well as exploring this charming part of the world.
Highly recommended, would go back there in a flash.
The sea is actually visible on clear days, however is some 40kms drive. The nearest resort is Cecina, which is a thriving seaside town in the summer. The beaches at Cecina are part sand, part pebble. One hour's drive away is the wonderful resort of Viareggio, on the Versilia coast, famous for its expanse of sandy beach, art-deco beach-front properties and up-market shopping and dining opportunities. Definitely worth a day trip to see Italian beach vacationing at its best.
The closest airport is Pisa, 95kms, one hour's drive away. Car hire is readily available, either through international or local companies. Florence airport is slightly further, approx 1.5hrs away. There is a train station at Saline di Volterra, approx 8km away, from where it's possible to take local trains to surrounding cities. Reaching the surrounding attractions is most convenient by car, however. Driving in Tuscany is easy, roads are well signed.
Pomarance is the ideal base for exploring Etruscan Tuscany. The villa is located approx 1.5kms from the centre of Pomarance. Volterra is close enough for day visits, plus evening dining, Sienna and San Giminiano are an hour's drive, Florence can be reached in 90 minutes. Florence is also accessible from a small railway station 8kms from Pomarance. Many people visiting Pomarance split their holiday, half their time spent relaxing by the pool, half making day-trips to these incredible cities.
The small town of Pomarance is fully served for both daily necessities and local specialities. For general shopping there is a Coop supermarket close to the town centre. There are also several small owner-managed shops with fresh produce, assorted groceries, plus all the wonderful prosciutto, cheeses & wines you will want to sample during your stay. There is a small store nearby that has an excellent range of local wines at great prices. In the next town is an Enoteca shop where local wines are sold direct from huge vats. There is no shortage of cafes or restaurants in the town & nearby area, from pizzeria to top-class, mostly traditional local restaurants with a true Tuscan menu, where you will eat with locals & their families & the prices are really good. Two banks, both with cashpoints are located near the town Piazza, as is a newsagent who stocks some English-language papers & magazines. Its a 20 minute walk to Pomarance, to the nearest cafe and grocers, though for larger shopping better to take the car.
The proximity of Volterra makes an evening trip for dinner in one of the many good restaurants a uniquely atmospheric experience. Quad bikes & scooters are available for hire nearby, horseriding can also be booked at the Information Office in Pomarance. There are numerous bike & walking trails in the area. If you want to really get away from the towns, there is a large nature reserve a short drive away, where you can hike in peace in truly natural surroundings.
