About STEVE SIMOFF
I am a high energy, people kinda person! I enjoy my family, friends, horses, being outdoors, gardening & yard work, doing things for others, and giving back to my community. This year (2016) I am running for a seat on the City Council in Midway, my hometown. Originally from a small farming community in Iowa, I grew up with thoroughbred horses. I earned a degree in commercial advertising and graphic design and started working in the travel industry. I went on to own and manage several successful travel agencies which I eventually sold. I moved to the midwest and had a successful thoroughbred training operation in Ky for 18 years before retiring. I am now a (ROAP) certified Racing Official in the industry.
STEVE SIMOFF purchased this House in 2004
Why STEVE SIMOFF chose Midway
This was my home for over 10 years and we wanted to renovate it and give it a new purpose but keep it in the family. I was a thoroughbred trainer for 18 years and currently a certified racing official.
What makes this House unique
Beautiful sunrises & sunsets. Pastures with horses and cattle nearby and the occasional hawk or deer. Off-street parking, city park w/ basketball courts & swings for the kids. Intriguing landscape makes it very private in summer especially. It's a short walk to downtown shops and restaurants. Fun to walk around town and see the different styles of houses. There's a walking trail being developed at the Walter Bradley Park that meanders in and around the creek to add to the walking experience. We'd be happy to tell you how to find it!

This was a super-cute, clean, comfortable and quality home.
Fell in love with this cottage! Will definitely book it again. I would say that this home and the vibe it allowed were stress-free and comforting. Furnishings are interesting and good quality, and the floor plan allows plenty of room for everyone, even more than the 4 we had in our group, yet it provides private spaces too. Easy walk to Midway restaurants, and the Midway Bakery next door has lovely breakfasts. We especially loved the equine art in the home, the good bed linens, and the sitting area adjacent to the kitchen.
I feel guilty that I don't want anyone else to find out about this cottage...
Great location, plenty room
Enjoyed our stay. The house was comfortable & great for relaxing at the end of the day. Location was central to our planned activities in the area. Steve was easy to work with & gave us some good tips about the area in advance of our trip. The Midway Bakery 2 doors down was excellent!
What a wonderful happy group, and Debbie and her family of friends are welcome back anytime. Home was left like they had not even been there, much appreciated! #5 stars
Girlfriends trip to Kentucky. Steve was the best host we ever had. He gave us many suggestions on what to see and do and they were all fantastic. We saw the first race this year at Churchill Downs, horse auction at Kleeneland, castles, Buffalo Trace Distillery, horse farms, Midway Fall Festival, Shakers Village and others. We were not disappointed and the house was immaculate, very quaint and met all our needs. Again thank you Steve
Steve is a fantastic host and keeps his home beautiful. Awesome place to stay.
Located in the beautiful town of Midway this home is everything you could ever want or need. Clean and spacious with all the comforts of home. We are ready to go back!
Perfect for a relaxing long weekend.
What we really loved was the privacy.
The back covered patio is just awesome. We had our Echo out there and listened to music, played cards and even slow danced.
The decor is something along the lines of Joanna Gaines. We found ourselves walking around looking at it all.
There were no corners cut when the owner remodeled. Which is something I really appreciate.
We ate in town at Heirloom for lunch on Saturday and it was really great.
Our visit was to go to the distilleries. We visited Four Roses, Wild Turkey, Woodford Reserve and Maker's Mark. All were great but our favorites were: Wild Turkey and Maker's Mark.
We loved the horse farms along the way! Just beautiful.
We plan to come back.
Perfect guest, would love to have them return for a visit. Left the Cottage clean, sheets pulled along with dishes put away, a plus for me. If they request to stay with you, just say yes. Steve #5 star guest for sure.
Very Clean and had all we needed for family of 7. Plenty of room.
Great place to stay. Owner was great. He cared about making sure that all went well. He helped us set up a few adventures at the Horse Farms. We look forward to staying again in the future. We had 7 in our group. 4 kids and 3 adults and there was plenty of room. Internet worked great.
Richard and his family were wonderful guest and a joy to host (*5 STARS FAMILY). If Richard ever request to stay at your home JUST SAY YES! A family I will remember and do hope to see them again.
