Apartment in Cavo Greko, Protaras, Ayia Napa, Cyprus - Peaceful Location, 5 Mins Walk to Excellent Beaches (Free Internet Not Shared)

Our superb and spacious 1 bedroom garden apartment is beautifully decorated. Landscaped gardens with patios at both front and rear. Our excellent Gas BBQ and quality garden furniture ensures comfortable and relaxing outside dining or chilling out with a glass of wine. The south facing communal swimming pool which includes full changing and shower facilities is only 25m from the apartment. A cycle path from Protaras to Agia Napa conveniently runs alongside the apartment and on a stroll towards Protaras you will easily reach the first tavernas within 3 or 4 minutes. We have found this a very pleasant safe and well lit walk at night. A further 12 to 15 minutes stroll will take you into the hustle and bustle of Protaras with its many bars and restaurants. The local bus service into Protaras and Agia Napa stops about 30 seconds walk from the apartment. Overall, a superb apartment in a great location and only a 5 min walk to the nearest beaches.

My wife Alison and I are originally from Scotland, and purchased our apartment in Dec 2008. We have enjoyed creating and landscaping our garden which surrounds the apartment. With care we have furnished the apartment to our taste with a great "home from home" feel. As we both enjoy preparing meals we have probably every utensil possible to make this fun and easy. We have enjoyed many evening with a a glass of wine and good food with our friends at the apartment and our new Gas BBQ has been great fun.

We have received fantastic comments from all our guests in the last few years and our Visitors Book feedback is a testimony to the excellent holidays our guests have enjoyed in Cypus and in our apartment.

Why Brian Soutar chose Protaras

We chose our location in Cavo Greko, Protaras as its very flat with no hills, can be peaceful but still close to nightlife. We do like the fact that the apartment is very close to some excellent local beaches which are both very safe, and great for snorkeling and Scuba Diving. It made sense to us that it could be quite peaceful for a quiet meal and a glass of wine on the front or rear Patio in the evening, or we could easily walk into Protaras with it's great selection of bars and restaurants, for a meal if we felt like it. Although we don't do rambling, we do often walk on parts of the E4 European Walkway which stretches now across the entire length of Cyprus. With an improved bus service it's now very easy and cheap to travel into Ayia Napa, Protaras (3 minutes) and even Larnaca.

What makes this apartment unique

Our apartment in a highly desirable location is very spacious inside with a nice surrounding garden. it's definitely got a bit of a "Villa" feel about it. There's no hills to navigate, and just a 5 minute walk to the beach.

The large open plan Kitchen with plenty of worktop space allows for very easy preperation of meals with every kitchen utensil and appliance available.

With a large selection of books and hundreds of DVD's at hand, quiet evenings in are more enjoyable.

As the bedroom also has a a Dvd Player and LCD TV, watching a great movie snuggled up in the King Size bed is great in the winter with the lovely and warm winter sun to look forward to in the morning as your sitting enjoying your Coffee or Tea.

The apartment is beautiful and we had a wonderful holiday the location made it easy to access the Beach and all the surrounding amenities we had a super holiday and were sorry to leave. The apartment was very clean and of a very high standard everyone was very friendly and helpful we would return without a doubt we look forward to returning to Cyprus next Year Thanks once again. We found Brian very helpful throughout the booking process ,and all of the information he provided was excellent including the directions from the airport.When we arrived at the apartment we found it to be spotless clean and really well equipped .we were really grateful for the welcome pack that had been provided for us tea and coffee was ideal after our journey.We enjoyed our 2 week stay at the apartment and were blessed with really good weather .All of the times that Brian provided for us were spot on about a half an hour walk to the main strip of protaras and fig tree bay.However about a five minute walk to the cavo maris beach ( highly recommended )

Shame about road

Excellent accommodation . Every thing we needed for our six week stay. Good location for beaches . But a long walk in the heat to protarus longer than we thought. Not much of a sea view right next to a hire shop for motorised bikes so very noisy and smell of diesel.Also on a busy main road and public footpath no privacy.Found the road very noisy so was not very relaxing.These things are not pointed out in apartment review.Lovely apartment but would definitely not go back because of location.

Owner's Response: Hi S & L, Glad you liked the apartment as we have gone to exceptional lengths to make our apartment a great and enjoyable experience. I know you did spend most nights at the apartment and you commented frequently that you enjoyed the brand new gas BBQ which I purchased the morning after your arrival. You commented on the public footpath that runs past the apartment which as you know allows families and couples to very safely stroll into the town for evening dinner...so a little surprised you actually saw this is an invasion of your privacy as they strolled by. Yes there are cars that pass also as it is the coast / beach road but in 6 years no other guest seem to have been upset or even commented on this and we certainly never found this to be a problem and we stayed many times at the apartment ourselves. The comment about a smell of diesel from a hire shop is really quite unfair and I simply don't understand this unless there was a problem with some other vehicle (perhaps another guests car), as no bicycles or scooters run on diesel....so ???. I know as you mentioned to other guests and also myself that you had a superb time and even regretted going home to the Uk. I might kindly and respectfully suggest if you don't want any noise, guests walking by or see any cars you perhaps should consider a much more isolated location like a small inland village or if you can extend your budget the Maldives or similar. Protaras is at the end of the day a tourist resort with its many themed bars, great and safe beaches, children/families having fun and splashing about in pools, restaurants in abundance, bars with multiple screens showing Soccer and other sports and of course families on holiday just having a great time and virtually guaranteed sunshine. Sorry you won't be back as you were a lovely couple. Thanks again for your review though perhaps a little personal and given Protaras is a Tourist town for families and couples and can be very busy in August and September in particular, perhaps in some parts a little unfair. Excellent Location

Perfect Winter Break

This is a great apartment. Very well kitted out, great for a self catering holiday. A very reasonable break from the British Winter. It was such a treat to have breakfast and lunch on the sunny south facing patio. Having the TV, DVD player with over a hundred films to choose from along with an iPod stand was like home from home. The WiFi was amazing and kept us in touch with the rest of civilisation! For the cooler evenings the gas fire is a real god send. There are some lovely walks near by, along with a cycle path which goes for miles in both directions. There is a Lidl and a Costa Coffee a couple of miles away which are really convenient. In summary a very comfortable apartment and certainly nice a quiet at this time of year. Thank you Brian & Alison for sharing your lovely apartment with us, we look forward to coming back next year.

Superb apartment

There's everything you could want in this spacious, clean and well equipped apartment.

It was great to relax and listen to music or select a film from an excellent range of DVD's. The kitchen has a full range of appliances and was excellent to cook in. It's handy to have a washing machine.

The beaches, harbors and nature reserve nearby were beautiful and we had a couple of days when it was warm enough to swim/snorkel.

If you enjoy quiet, November is the time to go as you have the beach (and resorts) to yourself.

We were pleased we decided to have transfers provided by Brian as they were so quick and having the hire of his car was very convenient and meant we could see far more of the area.

Coast/Beach:

You are only 5 minutes walk to nearest beach which tends to be quiet during the week and busier at the weekends. The local beaches have Loungers and Umbrellas for hire. Restaurants, a supermarket and a few tavernas are within 1 minute walk. Water sports are also available. Excellent for swimming and Snorkeling with absolutely stunning visibility. Plenty of reefs and aquatic life to see and enjoy.

Travel:

Nearest airport Larnaca. Although you do not need to hire a car due to the excellent location of the apartment, Taxis are expensive and I would suggest that car hire is the better option. The Apartment is located approximately 40 minutes drive from Larnaca airport and 2 hours drive from Paphos airport. Driving is on the same side as the UK, and roads are excellent with motorway most of the way to the apartment.

Airport transfers are provided on request and considerably cheaper than local taxis.

Distances:

Nearest town is Protaras which is a leisurly 15 minute walk from the apartment. Nearest beaches are 5 minutes walk away. Bus stop for Protaras and Agia Napa less than 1 minutes walk. 2 supermarkets within 75m.

Trips to local large supermarkets are easily arranged and also day trips to the North of the Island possible... even at short notice!.

An excellent Airport Transfer service is now available for guests (Toyota Avensis with Climate Control) with huge savings on Local Taxi Fares..Enquiries!

Notes on accommodation: Air-conditioning in the bedroom plus a good quality fans in the lounge (both freestanding and overhead). Heaters are also provided for the colder nights for our winter guests. The apartment is very suitable for guests with walking difficulties (not wheelchair). The apartment is ideally situated on a very level location with very easy access to our communal pool ( only a 10 seconds walk from the rear Patio). We have a new 32’ LCD TV and DVD Player in the lounge plus a 26" LCD TV and DVD Player wall mounted in the bedroom. Our new covered Pergola and full height fencing around the rear patio provide complete seclusion for al fresco dining or a quiet glass of wine in the evening, or barbeque with our new 2 burner gas barbecue. As an additional security measure, we have installed a secure safe for your personal valuables. Babycot/Highchair supplied (small additional charge). We also have a lovely 1.4 Vauxhall Astra for your use at greatly reduced prices on local hire charges. Outside: We have a lovely garden which surrounds the apartment on three sides and now grow various herbs including Basil, Rosemary, Thyme and Oregano. Ideal for all the Chefs looking for a self catering holiday! Our large front patio has a fairly large outside dining table, 4 chairs and parasol and an open outlook for "watching the world go by". Our rear patio however is shaded and cooler in the summer with a Bistro table and 2 wicker matching chairs set under our new covered Pergola (built March 2011). This, plus our new full height fencing allows for complete seclusion for intimate al fresco dining or a quiet glass of wine in the evening. We also have Sun loungers in the garden which are available for your personal use. A very easy to use full Size Gas Barbecue is on the rear Patio and yours to enjoy. Rustling up a nice barbeque could not be easier. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Ample towels, including beach towels are provided. All linen provided. Hairdryer, iron and an ironing board is also available for your use. Our garden "whirligigg" will also dry any washing you do very quickly. Quilts & covers provided in winter months. Other: Spacious open plan leads to dining area with extending table and 4 chairs.
