About Bonnie Baranoff
Hello, and thank you for checking out La Mesita! My name is Bonnie, and I'm a native San Diegan who loves La Mesa, so much so that I plan on living here for the rest of my life. I look forward to meeting you and helping you with ideas about things to see and do, or to simply leave you be to relax and enjoy your time in San Diego.
Bonnie Baranoff purchased this Studio in 2013
Why Bonnie Baranoff chose La Mesa
Growing up, I always loved the charm of La Mesa's Village and of the homes in the area, so when I was able and decided to buy a house, the Village was definitely where I wanted to be. Why? Because I can walk to most things I either need to do (groceries, ATM, hair styling, dry cleaning) or want to do (wine tasting, variety of restaurants, manicures, spa, library, post office, antiquing, and more). If I need to go further and I choose to drive, freeways are very close. And if I don't want to drive to say, go downtown or Little Italy for a festival, I only have to walk about 5 blocks to hop on the San Diego Trolley's Orange line, which takes me west to many locations. La Mesa is a fabulous central San Diego neighborhood with a small town feel in big San Diego.
What makes this Studio unique
We love the views of sunsets, morning sun colors, proximity to things we need, and the neighborhood around us.

This studio was a wonderful retreat for our week in San Diego.
Beautiful, modern, comfortable boutique studio with an abundance of space
The view was amazing. You feel as though you're tucked away in the quiet hillside, though your minutes from the highway and rail station. La Mesa is 20 minutes or less from all the highlights of San Diego.
Bonnie's personal touches and hospitality was incomparable to any other stay. We will definitely stay here again.
Thank you so much! We enjoyed having you here, and look forward to welcoming you back. :)
our fourth stay - gets better every time
Bonnie and Jason have paid remarkable attention to every detail, making this beautiful location everything you could possibly ask for in a short-term stay. We'll be back as our travels take us through San Diego in the future.
Thank you! We always enjoy seeing you, and look forward to enjoying some bubbly with you on your next visit. :)
Everything yoour heart may need
This was our first VRBO and we will come back here again and again,. This unit was stocked with everything from codiments in the refrigerator, coffee, laundry detergent and a great grat view.
Thank you! We look forward to your next visit. :)
Better then a hotel any day!
We enjoyed our stay at La Mesita. Fully equipped for a long stay or short stay. Centrally located and easy access to nearby freeways. Very well lit for night time use. Bonnie was very accommodating and quick to respond. One thing to be aware of is that stairs are the only means to get to the area so if you have a hard time with stairs this may be an issue. Other than that this place is great. Thanks again Bonnie for allowing us to stay at your home!
Thank you for staying with us! We enjoyed meeting and chatting with you. :)
The immaculate living area was delightful. The stocked kitchen was perfect.
The laundry room was efficient. It was a perfect place to stay for my wife and I.
We will be returning soon!
Excellent! Thanks for staying. We look forward to welcoming you back.
Do you want to discover San Diego and uncover the true essence of our city while enjoying the comforts of home? Are you visiting friends or family and want to stay on your own? Do you prefer to stay away from high-priced hotels in loud city centers? If you appreciate value and convenience, La Mesita is for you!
La Mesa, the “Jewel of the Hills,” is a delightful, centrally located San Diego neighborhood approx. 10 miles east of downtown San Diego. La Mesita is located in the quaint and quiet Village of La Mesa, featuring hillside views of both La Mesa and Cowles Mountain, as well as southerly views to Mexico and westerly views to Mission Valley and beyond.
It’s easy to get to all major San Diego attractions from La Mesa: beaches, the World Famous San Diego Zoo, Balboa Park, Old Town, Mission Basilica San Diego de Alcala, Coronado and the Hotel Del, Mexico, the Gaslamp District, Petco Park, San Diego State University (Aztec basketball and concerts), Indian gaming/casinos, and so much more! If you’re driving, La Mesita is freeway close (I-8 and State Routes 125 and 94) to anywhere in San Diego and if you’re taking advantage of public transportation, the San Diego Trolley (Orange Line) and bus stops (Route 7) are only a few blocks away. Best of all, La Mesita is located only steps from La Mesa’s Downtown Village, boasting a bevy of new and mainstay restaurants, urban wineries and local craft breweries, boutiques, and antique stores. Local weekly and annual events include:
*Farmer’s Market every Friday afternoon
*La Mesa Boulevard Stroll
*Flag Day Parade (usually late May/early June)
*Classic Car Show on La Mesa Boulevard (in the summer on Thursdays evenings)
*Oktoberfest (first weekend in October)
*Christmas in the Village (one weekend in December)
Are you seeking a workout outside of the gym? Discover La Mesa’s “Secret Stairs,” public stairways in the nearby hilly Mt. Nebo and Windsor Hills areas. If you’re seeking a more challenging workout, why not try a 1,593 ft. hike up Cowles Mountain and discover breathtaking views of San Diego from San Diego’s highest peak? Do you like to swim? Check out La Mesa’s Municipal Pool if you want to enjoy a cool dip (usually open February thru late November).
La Mesita was fully remodeled in late 2015. We welcome you to San Diego and look forward to your stay! La Mesita will be an outstanding home base for your week-end, week-long or longer term stay in San Diego.
