The Threshing Barn (Sleeps upto 8 + infants, 4 Bedrooms, 3 Bathrooms)
Pilgrims Rest Cottages E996
About Martin Brook
Having come for a holiday in 1997, with our then 5 young children, staying up the road, we took the plunge a moved. A great place to live, work and play - has to be given a premier UK resort where holidaymakers come for their holidays!
Martin Brook purchased this Cottage in 1997
Why Martin Brook chose Torquay
We love historical, olde worlde charm but all those types were in the middle of nowhere. To find, what turns out to be the oldest residency on The English Riviera, yet within a stroll of shops, but retaining the peace and quiet of a bygone age, was too give to pass.
What makes this Cottage unique
Rated by English Heritage of National Importance, these cottages are the only ones of their type found within Torquay. Dating back to the 15th century with links to the Spanish Armada and the Prince of Orange, now loving restored with historical roots but filled modern day luxuries. To stay in such a place, yet have access to excellent local shops within a stroll, beaches, countryside and all that Torquay and surrounding villages offer, is brilliant.

Holiday at Threshing Barn
Photos did not truly reflect condition of property especially the garden. I think the phots were taken quite a time ago. Insufficient garden furniture for all holiday makers. Tiny BBQ and rickety double wooden seat which had a broken table top.
Shower head would not stay in position and shower glass door had a door knob missing.
Beautiful barn conversion
What a beautiful barn conversion, we were so pleased with the accommodation and on arrival the cottage was spotlessly clean, with a little welcome gift for us and our dog. We would love to stay again.
Lovely character property and very well equipped
Lovely hosts and everything to hand. Easy access to torquay attractions
Pleasure having you, the family and lovely 'Buster' stay with us for a half term get away and we now look forward to your return that you mentioned with even more members as you have tasted what we and our area offer.
Thanks for your kind words on us.
Very best wishes, Martin and Kim
Wonderful characteristic barn, had a great time here
We had the barn for a special birthday weekend and had a fantastic time, characteristic and peaceful
It was a pleasure Ben having you all stay for Sianna's special birthday; certainly a wonderful group with the 3 dogs in tow, kids and grandparents - we designed Threshing Barn to spoil large gatherings and so glad it ticked all the boxes for your wishes - seeing the seals down at Watcombe Beach and the gorgeous meal in Yum Sing was a bonus!
Thank you for taking the time to right your review; it is most appreciated and we look forward to seeing you again. Very best wishes, Martin and Kim
Lovely house, in a very good location with good access to all local attractions
We enjoyed our stay despite our family emergency. We are very grateful for all the help you gave us at a very worrying time.
Dear Jill Thank you for taking the time to write a review, especially given the circumstances in a very worrying time. I just hope all has worked out and at least Threshing Barn gave all who could have a lovely base to take in the many attractions which were probably a welcome distraction. All the best. Martin and Kim
Perfect well equipped cottage It suited our party of 6 adults 2 toddlers 1 new born and 3 dogs adequ
Ideal location being close enough to Teignmouth Dawlish and Torquay Although in a large village it seemed quite secluded no passing traffic or noise from neighbours
Dear Jane, it was a pleasure having you all stay and an 8 week old baby, near to our youngest ever guest! Glad you found both Threshing Barn and location perfect for your holiday together - we aimed to provide a gorgeous place to stay knowing the area is great for all, having come here for a holiday ourselves, now 21 years ago and moving our, then, also young family.
Thank you for taking the time to write your thoughts and look forward to seeing you all again when down in lovely South Devon and The English Riviera again. Kind regards, Martin & Kim
