Exclusive villa located in seclusion overlooking the village of Claviers, Var with a tiled swimming pool and a fabulous terrace running the entire length of the house with a spectacular view. It features a Mediterranean, terraced garden including many olive trees, oaks and an enormous palm tree. Les Roches Fleuries is suitable for 6 adults plus two infants. The home is truly secluded offering you the chance to enjoy the Provence in grand style. A walk out the gate leads you through olive groves to many kilometers of hiking trails through the Claviers communal forest, where you will find ancient Celtic walls and perhaps a wild boar or two. There is a large covered terrace with table and seating for 6 people. There is also a covered pergola complete with a large gas grill for you dining pleasure. The terrace overlooks the 10 x 5 meter tiled pool which is surrounded by over 100 square meters of natural stone patio and framed by olive trees and English lavender.

Notes on accommodation: A Wi-Fi and a wired Ethernet connection with internet access are provided free of charge. Off the entrance foyer is a separate WC with hand basin and a utility closet with ironing board, vacuum sweeper etc. The washing machine is located in the master bathroom. A large safe is available for your use. All three bedrooms and two bathrooms run off a central corridor to the right of the foyer with the kitchen, living/dining area located on the left of the foyer. The bedrooms have large windows facing southeast, overlooking the swimming pool with beautiful views over the village below and adjacent woodlands and mountains. Note: There is a fourth bedroom, but this room is closed for private use of the owner. Outside: The villa is located on over 2000 square meters, largely consisting of landscaped, Mediterranean garden. The gateway to the property is located on a one-lane paved road without further outlets, ensuring very little traffic. Walking further up the road leads you through olive groves to many kilometers of hiking trails through the Claviers communal forest, where you will find ancient Celtic walls and perhaps a wild boar or two. There is a large covered terrace with table and seating for 6 people. There is also a covered pergola complete with a large gas grill for you dining pleasure. The terrace overlooks the 10 x 5 meter chlorine-free tiled pool which is surrounded by over 100 square meters of natural stone patio and framed by olive trees, English lavender and the largest palm tree in Claviers. The view of the village below is incredible both by day and night. An electric pool cover and automatic robot ensure that the pool remains clean. There is also a large enclosed kennel for dogs. Utility Room: Washing machine is located in the master bathroom. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Saturday to Saturday rental. The house is fully cleaned prior to arrival. Linen/towels and end of stay cleaning are extra and obligatory, to be paid upon departure. The swimming pool is cleaned via robot and serviced weekly by a human. Other: The dining area consists of an oval hardwood table of 2 meters long which seats six comfortably. There is a spacious pine cabinet providing ample storage space. The foyer leads to a covered terrace with table that seats 6. Two high chairs for infants.

A place at which I want to spend more time.

I would highly recommend this rental property located above Claviers, France. Everything was as described in the listing. It was spacious, clean, and well kept. The manager was available if we needed him.

We went on excursions every day, but wished we had spent more time on the beautiful property. The town is quaint with friendly people. We will be back!

Car: necessary


The location is ideal - about 420 meters above sea-level and yet only 45 - 60 minutes drive from the renowned Côte d'Azur resorts of St. Tropez, St. Maxine, St. Raphael, Fréjus and Cannes. The coast boasts a large choice of sandy beaches, harbours, islands and coves. Close by are Lac St. Cassien & Lac St. Croix with their water sports. In under an hour's drive you'll find the Esterel national park which boasts climbing and hiking on well over 100 kms of coastal paths.


Claviers is located approx. 25 km north of the A8 autoroute (St. Tropez exit) and 1-hour drive from either the Nice or Toulon/Hyeres Airport. It is about a 50 min drive to Cannes and slightly further to St. Tropez. Marseilles is about a 2 hours drive, and it takes between 11 and 12 hours driving time from the Channel Ports. The high speed train (3 hours from Paris) serves Marseille or Aix en Provence, and from there a train service brings you to within 30 minutes of the villa at Les Arcs.


The villa is approx. 800 meters (8 min walk) from the village of Claviers where you will find a "boulangerie", 2 restaurants, a bar and a small local shop. Bargemon with its galleries and many restaurants is less than a 10 minute drive. Larger supermarkets are a 20 minute drive away.

Grasse is a 35 minute drive and the coastal resorts are located anywhere from 45 minutes (Frejus/St. Raphael) to 90 driving minutes away. Lac St. Cassien is about 25 minutes away, Lac St. Croix 1 hour.

Further Details:

A host of activities are within easy reach incl. golf, canoeing (Verdon), water sports, horse riding and of course skiing in winter. The area is simply wonderful for hiking and exploring the rich history of the Var. There are many Provencal markets in proximity: Le Muy, St. Tropez and Les Arcs to name a few, as well as a wonderful farmer's market in Callian. Bargemon is less than 10 minutes away-- Fayence, Seillans, Figanières and Monteraux are a 15 to 30 minute drive. You will find an abundance of good restaurants across all price ranges and, of course, many "Caves" offering wine tasting and produce at reasonable prices. Clavier is located in the heart of Var's olive country and you can visit one of the local olive mills and purchase the exquisite local oil.

Please contact us for up to date availability. It is easiest for us to discuss things personally with you on the phone and reply to any queries. 25% non-refundable deposit to confirm booking and 200 Euro caution payment, returnable at end of rental. The balance is due 4 weeks before the start of rental. The cost for linens is 15 euro per person and the end cleaning cost is 100 euros, due at the time of departure.

Changeover Day:
Rentals are on a Saturday to Saturday basis, however we may be able to accommodate special requests, in particular outside of the high season. Arrival is normally after 4pm and departure is normally before 10 am. A local person will greet you.
