About Graham Eves
I live between the UK and France with my partner and two daughters. I spend about a third of my year in France travelling back and forth every few weeks where I am lucky enough to have plenty to do and a wonderful place to stay and probably the best cycling on the planet.
Graham Eves purchased this Farmhouse in 1993
Why Graham Eves chose La Barthe-de-Neste
We have always loved France and especially the mountains. We spent 3 years looking all over the country and eventually settled on this area for the peace and quiet and easy access to some of the best walking, cycling and skiing in Europe. After looking at dozens of other properties we finally settled on this house in particular for its location and views.
What makes this Farmhouse unique
We have developed our holiday gite business over the last 10 years. We have also shared and continue to share some thoroughly relaxing and memorable holidays with our extended families and groups of friends at different times of the year. The skiing is amazing just up the road at St Lary and we have friends that have skied in the Alps for many years that now prefer to return here each winter. The same can be said for our cycling friends and cycle tour organisers that love the challenges of the Tour de France routes and enjoy exploring the quiet, scenic, traffic free lanes that characterise this whole area.

A great house in a great location, we had 18 adults and 3 children and plenty of room.
We stayed in Sept 17', a group of 18 friends with 3 children. The house was ideal for our group, had everything we needed and was in a great location. We could walk through quiet roads to the nearest town, or it was a 5 minute drive to a supermarket. Thoroughly recommended.
Bel endroit, très calme
Nous avons passé avec un groupe d'ami un excellent séjour.
De plus, la vue est très belle.
Le propriétaire est très sympathique et donne beaucoup d'informations.
Lovely large gite with beautiful views
We had a lovely time in this property and the whole group very much enjoyed watching the sun setting from the hot tub and using the pool. The accommodation was very flexible and worked well for our mixed group of children and adults. The owner was really helpful and although a few parts of the property were a bit tired I know he is aiming to rectify this in the near future. The week's highlight was watching the tour details France pass 1km away from the property.
Great base for a large group
We held our wedding nearby and wanted somewhere for our guests to all stay together. This was the perfect place as offered plenty of bedrooms, bathrooms and outdoor space for our friends. Although I did not stay here personally all our friends loved it and have asked when we are going again!
The outdoor area with pool and hot tub was perfect during the hot weather with fantastic views of the mountains. Some of the rooms could perhaps do with a little TLC but it certainly had the rustic French charm we were looking for.
Graham was lovely to deal with and was very helpful throughout the booking process. A lot of information was provided about the property itself and the surrounding area which was all very useful.
All in all we are so pleased we found this place and will no doubt be back again with our friends, perhaps for our 1st anniversary?!
Pyrenees Farmhouse Gorgeous Views Family Friendly
Our family - 8 adults and three children - ages ranging from 2 - 67 years spent an enjoyable two weeks skiing, walking and lounging in the Jacuzzi.
The owner was really helpful and friendly.
Skiing was good (we were mixed ability) lovely large kitchen where we enjoyed evening meals (handy supermarket nearby). Large lounge and separate tv room which was much appreciated.
I'd recommend this property to anyone wanting somewhere for a large family get together.
Thank you Karoline and so pleased everything went so well.
Lovely location, stunning views, great facilities!
As a large group of two families, we felt instantly relaxed in this idyllic location and made good use of the many features the property has to offer including the lovely hot tub, amazing coffee machine and table tennis table.
The house is private and secluded but with amazing views of the Pyrenees, and lots of space both indoors and out!
Graham the owner was friendly and helpful at all times.
There are some lovely villages and a good supermarket close by but we also made the 40 minute drive up the valley to St Larry where we enjoyed White Water rafting and the High rope Challenge.
A great place to spend an enjoyable family holiday!
Thank you for your comments and so glad everyone enjoyed their stay at the house.

Feedback from a group of 10 cyclists earlier this year: 'The accommodation worked well for our group, and we all agreed it would be good to use it again on our next trip to the area. You have a great character property in a terrific position - Paul Coast/Beach: The beaches of Biarritz are 2 hours away on the Atlantic coast and can make an interesting, contrasting day out or even the very pretty seaside town of Collioure a 3 hour drive in the opposite direction on the Mediterranean. Travel: Nearest airport is Tarbes 30 minutes. The airport at Tarbes/Lourdes is 30 minutes and Toulouse is about an hour away. If you are flying then a hire car is recommended. You can get a ferry from Portsmouth to Bilbao and then its about a 4 hour drive. The drive down from Calais takes about 10-11 hours. Distances: Nearest village - La Barthe De Neste (2 minute drive or a 20 minute walk). Nearest town - Lannemezan (5 minute drive). Lourdes - 30 minutes. St Lary - 35 minutes. Tarbes - 20 minutes. Toulouse - 1 hour. Biarritz - 2 hours. Spain - 1 hour. There is an excellent sports centre with gymnasium and superb tennis facilities, including both indoors and outdoor clay courts. La Barthe De Neste also has a very popular local market every Sunday. There are 2 lakes - La Plantade where fishing is possible and the leisure lake la Demi-Lune where there are pedalos, ducks and swans to keep the children amused. The local Brebis cheese can normally be found nearby and you can try before you buy. St Lary-Soulan - plenty to do and see in this typical Pyrenean resort. Booking Notes: Experience has shown that the amount of electricity used can vary from group to group so it seems fairest to charge each group separately rather than include this in the price. We have recently added a pool heater and hot-tub and all heating and hot water for the house is electric. A typical figure for one week in summer is 100 Eu and has never exceeded 150 Eu. In winter it is typically 150-250 and has never exceeded 350 Eu. We calculate energy consumed and deduct this from the £400 deposit. Changeover Day: Prefer Saturday for Changeover Day. Especially During Summer Months. Notes on prices: Property can comfortably accommodate 20+ We also have a small 1-bedroom cottage with one en-suite bedroom and new for this year we have a second farmhouse with 3 en-suite bedrooms. All three properties are close together and are accessible via the games room. We only let the cottage and second house together with the main house.
