About Liz Fox

We have three children, two daughters away at University and a son studying for A' levels. We also run DIY livery at the farm for three ponies. Neil works for Pukka - the herbal tea company, he looks after the brand and its innovation around the world. Just don't get him onto the subject of herbal tea...

Why Liz Fox chose Bristol
Having spent three years renovating Springfield Farm, we wanted to share our wonderful home with people who would value the privacy, peace and quiet as much as we do. What we cannot replicate here is the view. You will be simply amazed by the beauty and light we get here. Almost every guest we have had in ten years has told us that the photographs simply cannot do it justice. We agree.
What makes this Cottage unique
There's little doubt that if you want to explore the best things that Bath and North Somerset have to offer, you will be in the best possible place to do so. Combine that with an exceptional place to stay, the only struggle you will have is whether to stay in or go out. A browse through the comments that our guests have made about staying here since we opened in April 2009 is a better indication of what it is really like than anything we can say.

Nos ha encantado !
Maravilloso lugar, la casa preciosa y atención perfecta, super recomendable!
Beautiful all around
An amazing property, stunning views, deliciously scented and soft linens....a perfect family get away.
Six of us rented The Grove for three nights while we attended a friend’s wedding nearby. We had mainly picked The Grove because of its location but were stunned by how amazing it is and how beautiful the surrounding area is. Liz was very easy to communicate with and made the whole experience very simple and easy. We would definitely return! Thanks again :)
Superb house , perfect location
Fantastic few days away in Somerset made even better by this little jem of a house. So pleased we stayed here because the place is fantastic in every way. I can highly recommend staying here and we will definitely be staying here ourselves again the future.
Exceptional accommodation and views
An amazing place to stay, location was fantastic for both walks and visiting the surrounding area.
The Grove has been beautifully refurbished and has everything you need for you stay.
Comfortable beds with beautiful quality linens.
The views from the terrace are breathtaking.
Thank you for your lovely review Tracey. Really pleased for you that the weather was so fantastic and so pleased too that you enjoyed your stay at The Grove. Hope you had a safe journey home.
Great space for family gathering
Comfortable space for family to gather...amazing views (although if the weather was clear, they would have been even better views). Great outdoor space for the kids to play and lots of places to explore within easy driving distance. Lovely welcome with tea, scones and breakfast items to get us started! We enjoyed our stay!
Thanks for your lovely review Karen and I hope you had a good onward journey.
Lake is within 5 minute drive.
Bristol Airport - 13 miles or approximately 20 minutes by taxi.
Wells, 6 miles. Bath 15 miles, Bristol 15 miles. Cheddar 6 miles.
There are superb restaurants and pubs within a close proximity of the Grove. The Litton Arms is 2 miles away and it's half a mile to the local village pub The Waldegrave Arms. In Wells is Goodfellows (with resident Michelin starred chef Adam Fellows). The Pig near Bath is a 15 minute drive and is consistently high standard. For truly outstanding dining, then the Michelin starred Pony & Trap near Chew Magna or the mercurial and wonderful Ethicurean restaurant in Wrington are worth a special trip. Bath has very many superb restaurants - notably The Olive Tree that has two Michelin stars. Similarly in Bristol which in recent years has seen an explosion of superb places to eat.
The world heritage Georgian city of Bath is 25 minutes by car. Wells with its beautiful cathedral and Bishops Palace is a ten minute drive. Heading further south, Glastonbury is half an hour from Wells and the brilliant Hauser and Wirth art gallery in Bruton is forty minutes from The Grove. For something more edgy it's a 25 minute drive to Bristol with its vibrant cafe, art and music scene especially at the newly renovated waterside area with the M Shed museum and gallery, Arnolfini gallery and We are the Curious.
The Grove sits in 20 acres of private land with public footpaths running across this and down through the valley. You can walk from your front door in some of the most beautiful landscapes in Somerset and it is just a short drive to Priddy or the Mendip hills outdoor activity centre at Charterhouse. For climbing and general amazement at the local landscape head to Cheddar Gorge where the cliffs and caves are breathtaking in every way. There is horse-riding nearby, fishing on the lake, golf and even dry slope skiing and within easy reach.
