Why Liz Fox chose Bristol
Having spent three years renovating Springfield Farm, we wanted to share our wonderful home with people who would value the privacy, peace and quiet as much as we do. What we cannot replicate here is the view. You will be simply amazed by the beauty and light we get here. Almost every guest we have had in ten years has told us that the photographs simply cannot do it justice. We agree.
What makes this Cottage unique
There's little doubt that if you want to explore the best things that Bath and North Somerset have to offer, you will be in the best possible place to do so. Combine that with an exceptional place to stay, the only struggle you will have is whether to stay in or go out. A browse through the comments that our guests have made about staying here since we opened in April 2009 is a better indication of what it is really like than anything we can say.

My family and I had a wonderful stay in the house. Check in and check out was very easy. The house had some things ready for us when we got there including a bit of food which we really appreciated. The kids loved having the bedrooms upstairs to themselves and the adults enjoyed having a bit of space away from the children as well. Very much recommend this as a place to stay.
Great house in beautiful location
We just had a great long weekend in this fabulous house. The setting was beautiful and the house lovely and clean and warm. It works extremely well with two families because of the way the bedrooms are split with two on the lower ground and two upstairs. The kitchen was really well equipped too.
The location was great as well. We visited Bath, Cheddar Gorge (would recommend the walk) , Longleat Safari Park and Dyrham House all within a 45 minute drive.
Would definitely recommend. Thanks very much.
Beautiful house, beautiful view
We loved this property! A beautiful house kept in an immaculate condition. Lovely local goodies left for us on arrival. We loved the local soap and fluffy towels! The location is simply fabulous. A great working farm and stunning views across the hills. Liz made check in so easy and left an exhaustive description on local amenities. We had a great time!
Thank you Sophie, lovely to have you all staying here and to hear that you had a great stay. Liz.
This property is in an ideal location for Bath, Wells, Bristol and Cheddar Gorge etc but will need to drive, even to the local pub. The house has lovely views and was very clean. Communication with the owner was very good and would recommend the property if wishing to see the sites around Mendip Hills.
I am really pleased you enjoyed the area Claire and that everything ran smoothly despite us being away, Liz.
We had such a lovely week at The Grove. The property is spacious and views are stunning. Within easy reach of the attractions of Somerset/Bristol/Bath. The house was immaculate and had everything a family could wish for. Liz was great and answered our queries really quickly. We will definitely be back. Many thanks!
Thank you Kay. Your family were delightful to have to stay and we loved seeing the girls playing in the fields. Look forward to seeing you again. Liz.
Nos ha encantado !

Wonderful place, beautiful house and perfect attention, super recommended!
Thank you Marian, we loved having you to stay and look forward to meeting your friend Alvaro who arrives tomorrow. Liz.
Lake is within 5 minute drive.
Bristol Airport - 13 miles or approximately 20 minutes by taxi.
Wells, 6 miles. Bath 15 miles, Bristol 15 miles. Cheddar 6 miles.
There are superb restaurants and pubs within a close proximity of the Grove. The Litton Arms is 2 miles away and it's half a mile to the local village pub The Waldegrave Arms. In Wells is Goodfellows (with resident Michelin starred chef Adam Fellows). The Pig near Bath is a 15 minute drive and is consistently high standard. For truly outstanding dining, then the Michelin starred Pony & Trap near Chew Magna or the mercurial and wonderful Ethicurean restaurant in Wrington are worth a special trip. Bath has very many superb restaurants - notably The Olive Tree that has two Michelin stars. Similarly in Bristol which in recent years has seen an explosion of superb places to eat.
The world heritage Georgian city of Bath is 25 minutes by car. Wells with its beautiful cathedral and Bishops Palace is a ten minute drive. Heading further south, Glastonbury is half an hour from Wells and the brilliant Hauser and Wirth art gallery in Bruton is forty minutes from The Grove. For something more edgy it's a 25 minute drive to Bristol with its vibrant cafe, art and music scene especially at the newly renovated waterside area with the M Shed museum and gallery, Arnolfini gallery and We are the Curious.
The Grove sits in 20 acres of private land with public footpaths running across this and down through the valley. You can walk from your front door in some of the most beautiful landscapes in Somerset and it is just a short drive to Priddy or the Mendip hills outdoor activity centre at Charterhouse. For climbing and general amazement at the local landscape head to Cheddar Gorge where the cliffs and caves are breathtaking in every way. There is horse-riding nearby, fishing on the lake, golf and even dry slope skiing and within easy reach.
