The newly restored red villa was used in the past as a stable and then as the farm manager’s house. Today it is called 'Villino Rosso' because of it’s very beautiful red plaster work. It is located in a big working farm with cows in a 300 year old olive grove, to walk around. It has a beautiful position up on a hill with a gorgeous view of the surrounding hills, some topped with ancient villages: Volterra is the most impressive. It is a great location from which to explore the area and even for some longer day trips. A self-catering and beautiful villa, nicely appointed with all the conveniences and air conditioning, to feel very at home. The swimming pool is private for the guests and has the most amazing views and a black interior which creates a mirror-like appearance. The spectacular Golf Resort of Castelfalfi with 27 hole facility is only 3 miles from Villino Rosso, perfect place for those who visit our cities of art and at the same time relax playing golf.
We live all year long in Fattoria di Monti because we love the country and farming has always been our life. We manage the estate not only with our brain but with our heart and we believe you will notice it whence here.
We manage with the same approach Collegalli estate that has been of the Burgisser family for 5 generations.

Family estate bought by great-grandfather in 1910... We love farming and this place is the most beautiful in the world for us and bears of the most beautiful view of Tuscany. Is out of the world but easily accessible from the nearby Florence, Pisa, Lucca and Siena. Just the perfect place where to relax and get to know the Tuscan culture many summer cultural festival in the area such as San Giminiano and San Miniato. Truffle are where you can taste this incredible tuber in the various restaurants and trattorias in the vicinity. Great Olive oil producer and wine area.
Under the Tuscan sun we surely had our fun! We have fallen in love with Italy (especially the Tuscany region) it's people and the countryside. Each day brought a new adventure as we traveled the narrow, windy and hilly roads. Some days we had a destination in mind, only to 'somehow' take a wrong turn and arrive at a new quaint and picturesque village. Setting off for Volterra we were directed away as we neared Peccioli. This was due to the Peccioli Bike Race. A delightful lunch was had in La Rosa as we watched the bikers fly by.
Another adventure was had as we set on for the Chianti vineyards. We never did get to visit a winery in the region but ended up driving to Sambuca; a hair raising drive but absolutely breath taking. Montaione with it's panorama view and 'lady in the window' was awesome. To Vicky and her family our stay in your wonderful villa was more then we dreamed it would be. I thank you so very much! We feel like family! Nothing could be improved upon!! - Rand and B
We spent the most wonderful fortnight at Villino Rossi and would absolutely love to return again. We were warmly welcomed and looked after beautifully during our stay. Vicky and family gave us excellent advice and information about the local area.
The house is beautiful, comfortably furnished and well equipped. The pool is so fantastic, we could barely drag ourselves out of it to eat wonderful lunches on the vine covered patio.
The dinner Vicky and Romina prepared on our first night was delicious, and fetching fresh produce from the garden for our meals was a real treat, especially when cooked with Monti olive oil.
We found it very easy to visit Volterra, Lucca, Siena, Pisa and Florence by car. Lucca is our personal favourite.
The pictures don't do it justice, the views are second to none, it is incredibly peaceful, you really couldn't find a better place to stay in Tuscany. Just don't expect it to be available, we'll have booked it already......
The villa is a real gem. Simply stunning! We were blown away by both the views and the quality of the interior. Everything is just perfect.
The house has a lovely homely feel and is spotlessly clean.
The saltwater pool is equally pristine and the views from it are to die for!
We asked Vicky to prepare a simple meal for us on arrival and we were welcomed to the most amazing spread of homemade dishes and salads of their homegrown vegetables. We also thoroughly enjoyed their olive oil & wine. Vicky was also kind enough to do a shop for us, so that we awoke to a lovely breakfast the following morning. Lovely extra touches were the coffee pods, washing powder, dishwasher tablets and bathroom toiletries.
Highlights of our stay (two families with four kids aged 6-8).
Swimming in the pool; collecting vegetables from the garden; watching the sun set over the valley and mountains beyond with a glass of local wine; cooking on the fabulous outdoor grill and eating alfresco for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
I could go on and on, but suffice to say this place is heaven and we can't wait to return. Thank you Vicky. From The Mathers & The Maguires
Our stay in the villa of Monti was the perfect way to complete our vacation to Europe. The home is beautiful and, more importantly, comfortable for our family of 9. We loved the rural location which allowed use the ability to relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery while making easy day trips to explore the surrounding towns. Even our trip to coastal town of Forte di Marmi was a quick drive a little over an hour.
Vicky was the perfect hostess, friendly, helpful and accessible whenever we needed her. The highlight of our stay at Monti was the evening we spent cooking and sharing a meal with her and her gifted assistants: Gina and Romina. This allowed us to enjoy the true essence of Tuscany in a personal way. We were thrilled to learn of the history and heritage of the estate which is quite evident in the villas and the chapel on the property.
It was a privilege to stay here and I love to have the opportunity to do it again.
This is an outstanding vacation property located in a picture-postcard perfect part of Tuscany. The pictures and description do not do it justice, you will be in awe of the scenery and completely satisfied with the house and amenities. The property is meticulously furnished and maintained, with a large, fully functional kitchen, luxurious bathrooms and showers, and a rooftop terrace with a view that will make you long for your next visit. The owner, Vicki, could not have been more accommodating and outgoing, making sure our every need was anticipated, and even having a delicious dinner waiting for us on the evening we arrived! The property has recently come back on the rental market, as the previous tenants stayed here for three years, and I can easily see why! You cannot go wrong with this rental or the owner, we can't wait to return next year.
Special interest holidays:
Extra virgin olive oil is produced locally in our farm and on your request we will be glad to organize olive oil tasting with the different variety (monocultivar) we produce. During the Fall at harvest we organize the olive oil week or day: lectures where we take you from olive picking in the morning, to the processing stage in the afternoon (so that at dinner you will be able to taste and use the olive oil obtained from the olives you have picked in the morning) to the kitchen for a cooking class. We have a hunting reserve in the winter time, and in the spring and summer time there is a clay pigeon shooting range which operates on Saturdays and Sundays.
