About Ana Maria Moreno Villena
Hello, It's Sebastián and Ana María, the owners of Las Piedras. We have two sons and a daughter, the eldest has got his university degree, the elder is working, and Ana Cristina, the author of this text, wants to study Translation because she really likes languages. We have built a little paradise for tourists who stay in our beautiful Andalusian village with our own hands. We started building the villa in 2005 and it was finished three years later for the enjoyment of our guests. Sebastián is a good connoisseur of our Natural Park, and has published the bilingual book "Tejeda, Almijara y Alhama (Parque natural)" to make known some beautiful and in some cases unreachable corners, the beauty of our landscapes, flora and fauna. We are looking forward to your visit.

Peaceful and tranquil.
Fantastic villa. Perfect for Peaceful, relaxing break. Road to villa could put some people off. Car essential.
Peaceful, private and stylish. Fabulous!
My partner and I stayed at Las Piedras during the first week in September 2017.
Firstly, the photos on this website do not do the property justice. Self-built by the local owners over a period of three years, the design, attention to detail and build quality is incredible. We noticed something new about new feature or detail every day.
The villa itself is fairly small, but comfortably big enough for two, and comfortably and pleasantly furnished.
The outside area is where Las Piedras really shines, though. There are five tiered terraces. The first is at villa level with a dining table and chairs. The next has a swimming pool and a large terrace so that your sunbeds can follow the sun all day with plenty of room. There are two more fairly small terraces where one can chill with a book or glass of wine. The lowest terrace has a BBQ, a very large seating area and a kitchen (complete with fridge freezer) and a loo. All the terraces overlook the valley, down to the sea by Nerja and across to Frigiliana (about a 20 minute walk away passing mango, avocado and olive groves – but be aware that the path is quite steep in parts!).
The owners have put considerable effort in to the landscaping, with plenty of flowers and shrubs, stylish lighting and even a stone waterfall tumbling in to the swimming pool.
The owners are very welcoming and helpful, and are clearly and rightly very proud of Las Piedras. Although in the interests of balance, we have only one small grumble. Whilst the dining chairs look great, they're not the most comfortable. I feel embarrassed even writing that...
If you want a stylish, peaceful, very private villa surrounded by stunning mountainous countryside, with the pretty village of Frigiliana on your doorstop and only 15 minutes from buzzing Nerja with it’s wide variety of shops, restaurants and bars, then you aren’t going to beat this. We’ll be back.
Small well equipt private villa
This is our second time in this villa and this visit was as good as the first. The villa has everything you need, is very clean and the outdoor spaces are spacious and plenty. We particularly like the outdoor kitchen area and upper terrace. It is lovely having breakfast watching the sunrise each morning.
An excellent place to stay - very relaxing and he owners were most helpful in every aspect.
The property is quit exceptional and the views over Figiliana were stunning. It is an ideal place to stay and totally a one off as regards one bedroom villa are concerned.
A beautiful secluded villa on the outskirts of Frigiliana.
From the moment we arrived at Las Piedras we knew we had found a hidden gem. The villa is set on the hillside with fabulous views over to the village of Frigiliana and down towards Nerja and the sea. We had a wonderful week exploring the area (a car is essential) and had all the comforts we needed when we returned to Las Piedras each evening. The log burner was essential as the evenings did get quite chilly but this was to be expected in January. We very much hope to return to this beautiful villa again.
You will be so pleased that you booked this unique and charming property in a stunning setting in the Spanish countryside, but with beautiful views of the sea and of Frigiliana too. I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone seeking a peaceful relaxing break (in the sun) at any time of the year.
Walking into Frigiliana was accessible on foot if you have stout walking legs that will last 20-30 minutes. The nearby mountain region is full of incredible walks with stunning views and scenery and there are lots of hidden coves and beaches west of Nerja which will delight you and sea temperatures were good in early November, although we are used to the North Sea!
If venturing into Frigiliana without a car at night, remember to take a taxi number from one of the business cards in the property to avoid being caught out, as the rank in town can be empty on quieter week nights. The Garden Restaurant has a view to die for and is so romantic, with quality of food and wine to match, you cannot fail to be wowed by it.
Special interest holidays: The owner is a great nature lover, if you stay a week, you can ask him everything about the Natural Park area. Frigiliana is well served by a number of local village shops selling everyday basics, including bread, vegetables, fruit and meat. And in the old part of the village you can find multiple traditional shops. You can also find restaurants and bars in every corner of the village! Coordinates: 36.787743,-3.905836 Coast/Beach: Just below Frigiliana you can find Nerja, famous for its beautiful beaches, where you can swim, sunbathe, dive, play volleyball or just relax! Travel: The airport is in Malaga, 60 km away. Distances: Frigiliana - 4km. Nerja Caves - 12 km. Nerja - 10 km.
