What makes this Chateau / Country House unique
There is a small double bedroom downstairs with a shower room a few steps away. This bedroom is ideal for those who find stairs difficult. The Huge kitchen dining room 33' x 15' with seating for 24 makes Hafod Grove an excellent venue for celebrations and family holidays and weekend breaks. The beautiful location and large private gardens makes Hafod Grove exceptionally appealing especially the wonderful variety of mature trees. Pretty Ceibwr Bay is within easy walking distance of around a mile from the House with a riverside footpath providing a delightful alternative route to the sea. The sea views from the gardens and upper floors are a lovely bonus especially in winter when there are no leaves obscuring the view. The House has rather a grand staircase and window and having a servant's staircase too is very convenient. The open fireplaces are wonderfully homely during the winter months and the cosy Aga makes the kitchen a mecca for guests.

We had a fantastic family weekend with every facility we needed.
Hafod Grove House was a very spacious property with every facility we needed. Just had a problem with hot water for the showers but it didn’t spoil a lovely bank holiday weekend. Would definitely recommend a visit.
Excellent property for large groups
We had a wonderful stay at Hafod Grove. The house is in an ideal location to explore the surrounding areas, particularly the coves around Ceiwbr Bay.
Josy was brilliant - helping us plan our stay and also including a thorough information pack. The house is bright, clean, spacious and with all the amenities you need to make your stay comfortable.
very comfortable and interesting
The accommodation was warm, clean and comfortable, with plenty of bathrooms for a large group and good cooking and eating facilities. All equipment was of a high standard and worked well. Because we were out in the daytime over the weekend, we did not use the patio, garden and outdoor areas. The property was well maintained and the owner was most helpful before the visit, with contact by phone and email, to make sure all went well. It is an excellent base for a large group holiday and great for photography. We visited Ceibwr Bay and Poppit Sands, Nevern Church, St Dogmael's Abbey, the Welsh Wildlife Centre, Cenarth Falls, Cardigan, Aberaeron and Newquay - all good places for photography and interesting historically, but there were far more places to see if we had stayed longer. We ate at the Ferry Inn, St Dogmael's and across the estuary at the Gwbert Hotel, both very good food and pleasant atmosphere. It would be a great place for an extended family holiday too, as there is plenty for children to do in the area.
Thank you Margot for this lovely review as it makes all the behind scenes hard work worthwhile. I'm so pleased that your stay was a success and enjoyable despite the one week's delay due to snow. Hopefully you all now have some very interesting photographs as a result. I'm sure many future guests will be encouraged to follow in your footsteps and visit the places suggested. I do hope that we shall see some if not all of your group some time in the future.
Thank you again and Best Wishes,
Wonderful house and location! Wonderful holiday!
This was our second stay in 6 months! We had a large group stay for a long weekend and the house was perfect for all our needs. There was enough room for all 26 of us including dog! All beds were comfortable including the trundles and sofa beds and kitchen and living room accommodated us all easily including the big roast dinner we cooked!
The location of the house was perfect - we all enjoyed walks to the beach from the house and sat around the open fire in the evenings in the lounges.
Josy the host was also very helpful and always quick to respond.
Thank you for a wonderful stay and we hope to come back again soon!
Thank you so much for this fantastic review, and it was great to have you all to stay at Hafod Grove again. You seemed to have had an excellent time again, also finding plenty to do given the time of year.
You certainly seem to make the most of the aga and the range cooker which is nice to know! It makes all the hard work worthwhile when people have a really good time and I shall pass your comments onto Mel and Lauren our new Housekeepers.
Many Thanks again and see you in the not too distant future.
A lovely, large & comfortable old house
This is a great choice of accommodation for a large group such as ours. Six families with 14 children aged between 4-15.
This is our tenth year doing this, we enjoy going somewhere different every time.
Hafod Grove ticked lots of boxes for us, it's a great size and comfortable - everyone enjoyed a decent night's sleep after busy days exploring the gorgeous beaches.
The kitchen is perfect for large group get togethers.
Everywhere was clean and the house soon warmed up with a boost of the heating.
It is an old house and is tired in many parts, but this is part of the beauty of staying in properties such as this. It gives you a real sense of history.
Thank you for this lovely review and it seems that certainly made the most of your stay.in North Pembrokeshire I'm sure that it will be helpful to other large groups. Thanks too for the interesting comments about the location and kind observations about Hafod Grove House which is very dear to my heart.... I shall pass your comments about cleanliness on to the new Housekeepers Mel and Lauren who have to work very hard to ensure everything is comfortable for our guests.
Thanks again and Best Wishes,
Fabulous house for a large get-together
We had a great Christmas family reunion, plenty of room for kids to run around indoors when weather less favourable! The kitchen was very well equipped and the house warm and comfortable. Plenty of bathrooms, all clean and well maintained with sufficient hot water for such a large number. Beautiful walks close and a nice garden for kids. The information provided was accurate and the owner very accessible and helpful, farm next door if any problems were to arise, ( we had none!)
We're very glad that you all had a good Christmas week at Hafod Grove House. Thank you for this excellent review and I must add Ann and her team and the plumber was very pleased to hear that all was clean and tidy and that you had plenty of hot water. No one ever mentions Dave the Aga who does a great job refitting and installing our bathrooms and maintaining the Aga and plumbing. You seem to have found plenty to do during your stay and hopefully we shall welcome you all again at a later date.
Best Wishes and Thanks again,
