About Debby McMorran

Frank and Debby McMorran - we live and work in Belfast, Northern Ireland and have four children aged between 21 and 28 and a loveable but crazy border collie! Although Northern Ireland is a beautiful country the climate can be predictably awful with a lot of rain and we found ourselves craving the sunshine and outdoor way of life. We had been lucky enough to rent a beautiful villa in Pont Royal which belongs to friends of ours and after spending a number of summers and weekend breaks there we discovered that a new development was being built. We took the plunge and signed for Mas 15, Le Hameau des Trois Collines in September 2006 when all we had to go on was a building site and plans - we are delighted with the end result and plan to spend many more happy holidays there.

Debby McMorran purchased this villa in 2008

Why Debby McMorran chose Mallemort

We love the accessibility that the location of Pont Royal gives us - so many beautiful places to visit in this part of Provence from the little hilltop villages of the Luberon to the wonderful walks in Les Alpilles, fantastic local markets and vineyards and pretty seaside towns and the wonderful wild Camargue. We really do feel that we have only scratched the surface and discover more wonderful places with each visit. As Pont Royal is a gated Domaine we have peace of mind that our property is secure while we are away - we also have a wonderful bilingual House Manager, Karen, who is available at all times for our guests should they need help or advice with anything during their stay.

What makes this villa unique

Access to two beautiful pools for the exclusive use of residents and guest of Le Hameau des Trois Collines, pretty private garden with lovely views - the house is tucked away in a quiet part of the beautiful Domaine of Pont Royal but is only a 15 minute stroll from the main village with shops, restaurants and a lovely wine bar/deli. During peak times there is nightly entertainment in the main square and plenty of activities for all ages. Guests can also purchase daily or weekly passes for the wave pool, rock pool and water slides in the main village. Ideally situated for those who want to explore all that this region has to offer.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Great house - clean and comfortable with shared pool - the accommodation is first class, clean, comfortable a real home from home. Good size bedrooms and a wonderful livingroom/kitchen. Everything you need and more with a private garden which gets the sun all day and pool a few steps away from the front door to cool down. The resort is very quiet in the evening. Make sure you sit in the garden and look up at the stars. There are walks around the resort but a car is needed to go to local villages. The area is picturesque and there are numerous locations, villages and towns to mention. Supermarkets and restaurants are nearby. the owners have a list of recommended places to visit, eat, drink - what else could you ask for in a holiday in France.

Home away from Home....

  • 5 of 5

What an amazing time we had at Pont Royal in this villa. A real home away from home. The villa is well equipped with everything you can imagine and with a book and dvd collection to rival Amazon! If you like exploring like we do, the villa is perfectly located for many days out in the surrounding area from the beaches to the Luberon. The owners of the villa have an extensive list of suggested outings and restaurants that they recommend and we worked our way through them and loved them all! Pont Royal itself is fantastic and there is so much to do in the actual resort for the children and for the grown ups. A choice of pools within the resort with the amazing wave pool and super slides at the main resort which our children loved. Then there are activities galore from mini golf, to paintball to horse riding and of course for golf lovers an amazing 18 hole course and a mini course for children / beginners. Lovely bars for drinks on the terrace and a good Italian restaurant. We would highly recommend a holiday in this villa and at Pont Royal.

Perfect !!

  • 5 of 5

As a family with adult children we found this property perfect for our needs. It is very cool inside with very effective air conditioning (34 degrees outside) and the fixtures and fittings are well in excess of a normal holiday property. The pool really is only 15-20 yards from the front door and is mostly quiet - often we were the only people there. We found the situation of the house ideal, in that it is generally very quiet, yet is only a 10-15 minute walk from the centre of the site (the walk is a little hilly but is both up and down and short enough not to be problem) . The centre is a little more commercial, with a few restaurants (we found it advisable to book ahead), a wine bar (ideal for a bruschetta and a glass of wine) and a small shop, perfect for a nice walk to pick up the bread in the morning. Another bonus for us is the golf course -we had played it before, but had forgotten how challenging and very enjoyable it is. We found some very nice restaurants nearby - Le Repaire, the creperie in nearby Vernegues (15 mins by car), is a real winner and , of course, head up into the Luberon (Bonnieux, Lacoste) and the views are spectacular. This property has so much going for it (including being only 40 minutes from Marseille airport) it is hard to list everything but one of the real bonuses for us is the hosts themselves. Debby is a real pleasure to deal with, almost like dealing with an old friend rather than a business transaction. So, a massive thumbs up to Debby and Frank and for the "House in Pont Royal" . P.S. already booked again for next year!!

This accomodation is first class, clean, comfortable a real home from home. Good size bedrooms and a wonderful livingroom/kitchen. Everything you need and more with a private garden which gets the sun all day and pool a few steps away from the front door to cool down.

The resort is very quiet in the evening. Make sure you sit in the garden and look up at the stars. There are walks around the resort but a car is essential as it is too far to walk to the local villages. The area is picturesque and there are too many wonderful locations, villages and towns to mention. Supermarkets and restaurants are nearby. A lovely home in Provence

  • 5 of 5

Just one or two thoughts as I look back on the wonderful few days I spent in your lovely home in Provence.

It was just so peaceful and comfortable and a perfect base from which to set out and explore the beautiful countryside around.

Having heard so many reports extolling the virtues of Pont Royal it was just so good to see for myself and prove the reports right.

I will very much look forward to another visit sometime.

Delightful stay at Pont Royal

  • 5 of 5

We have had such a wonderful time, our only regret is not booking for longer!! Your lovely home has everything we could need, especially for Sarah, but with the addition of fab scenery & sunshine. The shade provided by the beautiful flowers & bushes in the garden meant Sarah could be the outdoor girl she always wants to be 😀򐀮 It was also great to haven Karen on hand to answer any questions.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much Bernie - we are delighted that you had a happy holiday and that little Sarah's first holiday abroad was successful. We are very lucky to have Karen on hand for our guests - she has worked at Pont Royal for many many years and is an expert on the area and a great support to all our visitors. We look forward to welcoming you back in the future. Debby

he approach to the house is breathtaking in every direction. Rugged hills rich with the scent of wild rosemary and thyme, traditional villages with quaint coffee shops and market stalls bursting with unbeatable local flavours, historic ruins and natural wonders all incredibly close to the homely community of Pont Royale.

The house itself oozes with love and care and relaxes the guest immediately. With the much sought after elements of rustic Provençal living housed in an impeccably clean, functional and modern house with local amenities as nearby as the long list of attractions.

With such friendly, kind and accommodating hosts this house cannot be recommended enough, your only conceivable regret will be that you haven't stayed long enough!
