The property was built in 2007 and is tastefully decorated to a modern, contemporary design. All appliances are available. Cooker with full size oven, microwave, kettle, fridge, washing machine. Flat screen TV, iPod Dock, DVD player (also for CDs) the apartment is also well equipped with a wide range of games, DVDs CDs, Wi-Fi, and books for all ages and a variety of tastes. The port is only a short walk or drive away and provides a perfect setting for family break or is an ideal getaway for couples seeking some relaxation and good food! Bayeux is only 8kms away and and the world famous Omaha Beach is only 8 minutes drive. The huge expanse of soft sand is world famous for the D Day landings but these days families use the vast open space for all sorts of fun. if it's sun bathing, paddling, wind surfing, playing football or flying a kite it's all welcome on this world famous beach. Bayeux hosts a great market and lots of boutique shops and restaurants.
We are a mid 40's couple with one young daughter who enjoy visiting France and the whole Normandy area, so much so we bought a place there!
The apartment we have is very comfortable and family based but isn't a crèche! It has a lovely modern, clean feel and we hope you will enjoy your stay, we want our guests to relax and enjoy the Normandy experience.
We spend lots of time in the area so have gathered lots of information, plenty of which is in the apartment to help our guests decide on where they would like to best spend their time. We are always willing to talk to our guests prior to booking and would welcome enquiries by telephone.
Colin & Sue Peabody purchased this apartment in 2007
Ideal location central to the historic landing beaches, but not entirely dominated by the D-Day landings, it never feels too far from any of the main attractions in Normandy. The quiet residential area is perfect to enhance the relaxing experience.
Our apartment comfortably sleeps up to 6 people, so often we have several generations of the same family on holiday together, or maybe 2 families holidaying together - the flexibility of the accommodation and the space means this makes the apartment a very cost-effective way to accommodate a larger party of people.
However, if it's just a few people the space of the apartment means it feels very comfortable and frankly "large" compared to other holiday rentals - a real home-from-home feel rather than the usual cramped spaces sometimes associated with holiday lets.
Wonderful stay, very cosy.

The Dolmans & Broods, Worcester Park ,Surrey, August 2010
Great property, very roomy, clean and well maintained with just about everything you could want for a long stay. There is lots of information about the area which made planning our itinerary easy. The port has a good selection of restaurants within easy walking distance and the locals are friendly. I would definitely recommend this accommodation.
A great place to stay for Nrmandy D-Day landings. Loved the fishing town of Port en Besin. Great market on Sunday. Nice restaurants. Bayeux short drive away. April is a good time to visit as the crowds have not yet descended.
Property is quiet and close to beautiful Omaha golf course.
Colin easy and good to deal with.
Would have no hesitation in booking the property again.
Located on the edge of a fantastic village , this accommodation is everything you want to start your holiday. We stayed 5 days and loved every minute of it. The facilities, the proximity to the beaches and to Bayeaux and Mont St Michel if you want a bit of culture make it an ideal base . The apartment is impressive , clean , well maintained and the owner provides an informative pack to relieve any fears of "being left on your own".This is somone who cares about his guests --excellent --will back.
Stayed here for 2 weeks while visiting World Equestrian Games in nearby Caen. 4 of us stayed in the apartment, 1 couple & 2 singles & we found the apartment perfectly suited our needs. It was our sanctuary to come home to on the 2nd floor of a group of apartments overlooking a field, golf course & farmland in the distance. Apartment is quite new, clean & well maintained with a security entrance on the ground floor so felt very safe, 3 bedrooms, one double with ensuite, other 2 bedrooms have 2 single beds each & share the 2nd bathroom, there are flights of stairs from the ground floor so if you have trouble with stairs this could prove a problem. The pretty port town of Port-en-Bessin is an easy walk from the apartment with all facilities we needed - restaurants, atm, supermarket, bakeries, pharmacy, post office. It was really great to have a washing machine in the apartment so we didn't need to go to the local laundromat. Normandy DDay beaches are right there & Bayeux is less than a 10 minute drive away, the big city of Caen is a 20 - 30 minutes drive. Colin (the owner) replied to all emails promptly & provided a comprehensive list of facilities nearby which included a doctors surgery on the corner of the street. This came in very handy for us as one of our friends became ill & needed some prescription medication. Receptionist didn't speak English but with our very fractured french we got an appointment in 30 minutes time (wow - wouldn't happen in Australia), female doctor spoke good english (she is married to an Australian) & did a very thorough examination & provided scripts which we filled at the local pharmacy. Really great service. There is also a great little market in town on a Sunday as well. There is a bus service (Busverts) but we didn't use it as we had a car, also taxis available from Bayeux, train from Bayeux connects to the rest of France.
We stayed in the apartment for four nights in May as we wanted to tour round the D Day sites and beaches. The apartment was really well located for the beaches and we had a great few days, The apartment was clean and well appointed with everything to make for a comfortable stay. We had our little grandson with us and there were even little baby toys for him. Comfortable bedrooms with a bathroom each which was super and the kitchen well equipped for cooking. We ate out a few nights and had two good meals, one of which was a scrummy pizza. I really liked Bayeux which is a very nice shopping town and we did view the tapestry too. The Bayeaux cemetery is not to be missed. Amazingly well kept, as are all the memorials. Visited Ste Mere Eglise Musee Airborne which was superb, even had a makeup of a plane with sights and sounds to see what it was like for the poor men about to parachute out. That is the town where the parachutist got stuck hanging on the church. Well worth a visit. Communications were easy with Colin and all in all we had a great stay.
We would highly recommend this lovely well equipped & well maintained apartment, it is in a perfect location to explore Normandy. It had everything we needed for a relaxing break, including wi-fi & a great selection of DVD's to entertain our teenage sons. The owner provided excellent customer service & was extremely helpful & accommodating. Lots of excellent information on the local attractions was provided to enable us to explore the D Day landing beaches etc. Nearby Port en Bessin has a great selection of restaurants & the market on Sunday morning is worth a visit.
Special interest holidays:
The area is famous not only for the Bayeux tapestry and D Day landings, but also Calvados, Camembert and other culinary delights and of course the world heritage site Mont St Michel. Horse riding, walking and cycling are also very popular in the area. We have taken several bookings from cyclists who enjoy the many cycle paths in the area - a cycle map is provided and there is a secure lobby area where cycles can be parked and locked when not in use.
