El Jardin Secreto is a spacious, beautifully modernised villa, set in private gardens.

It has everything you need for a fantastic holiday including a poolside 'tikki bar' with a family table and barbecue/cooking/fridge/music facilities for fun-filled nights outside under the stars.

Free Internet is supplied at the villa.

We have tried to think of everything as there are even 2 sets of golf clubs for you to hire should you fancy a round on one if the beautiful local courses.

If you stay longer than 1 week the agency send a maid to change the beds and make them up with fresh linen,leave you clean towels and do a mini clean of the house halfway through your stay. [Please note this service will not apply for longer stays of more than 2 weeks but it can still be arranged with the local agency for a fee]

A well established local agency look after the house and know it well should you need help or advice during your stay. They are based in Nerja.

There are English TV stations available and please note that in Spain the receptors are intermittently changed, so adjustment may be required by the agency during your stay.

The villa is decorated in an eclectic manner with very modern touches and older pictures and artefacts gathered from the local markets. Guests really seem to like this mix which add to the interest in the house.

The pool area is very popular and is surrounded by the lovely gardens at the house. These areas are particularly appealing for family groups who gather outside and can make the most of the large lawned areas as well as the pool area.

There is a burglar alarm and safe fitted at the villa for peace of mind during your stay. The villa is very private and sits behind beautiful tall wooden gates with a security number for your holiday privacy.

It is a very private place to be and no close neighbours who ask you to turn your favourite music down outside if you want to dance around the pool at night! It is a place to chill out and have fun.

The excellent configuration of the bedrooms provides perfect accommodation for 2 families of four [extra bed available as well as 2 cots and a highchair, all of which can be hired] One bedroom with an en-suite is located on one side of the house and the other en-suite double room is on the other side of the one storey house. This is then separated from the 1st twin with the bathroom area.

The villa is bright,modern and fantastically equipped throughout. You will never be short of glasses here!

The gardens are a unique feature of this lovely house and surround the villa to include stunning trees and shrubs with wonderful colours all year. Lots of lawned areas and views of the sea and mountains throughout the garden.

We absolutely loved the villa. It was perfect in every way.We enjoyed a wonderful time of relaxation there and had fun cooking on the barbecue and relaxing by the lovely pool. The location is fabulous and we loved the fact that you have views of the sea and the mountains. We enjoyed watching the goat herder bring his goats across the road too!..like going back in time!!The villa provided us with everything we could possibly need and more,every little thing was thought of and we enjoyed the decor of the place,can't fault anything at all. Notes on accommodation: The villa has the added bonus of a solar heated pool, temperatures obviously vary with the amount of hours of sun each day. All the bedrooms have ceiling fans to keep you cool in Summer. Gas central heating provided with fixed costs if required.It is called El Jardin Secreto-The Secret Garden-because of the beautiful gardens which surround the whole villa. There is a huge palm tree ,which is a landmark in the area. You are able to pick your own lemons,pomegranates, oranges and almonds from the trees there and the frangipani scent is wonderful. Lavender and bougainvillea grow around the pool and the rubber tree provides shade for relaxing with a novel. It is a great place for a holiday with family and friends and children are safe in the garden. The villa is a mix of old and new styles and everything has been chosen with care to add interest as well as comfort. It has a flat screen TV. HiFi/CD player and ipod dock. Parking is available for several cars and is in the grounds. Tiki light. Free Internet. Outside: A large private pool is outside in the patio area. It measures approx 10 x 5 metres and has steps into it at one end. The deepest part is 2 metres. It is solar-heated, so temperatures vary depending on the hours of sun at the time. The large mature gardens make the holiday even more special and a gardener ensures the lawns are cut and the trees and bushes are pruned. Sun loungers by the pool. Most of these are multi-positional. Three large Spanish straw umbrellas are a permanent feature, each having its' own fixed table. They are perfectly safe even in windy weather. As described,the 'Tiki-Bar' is a popular place to spend time and has hosted some brilliant gatherings.It has atmospheric lighting for the evenings and a large table with modern seating. A barbecue, gas hob and fridge turn it into a second kitchen. It is shaded by a rattan roof covered in colourful climbing plants. In another part of the garden is a 'pizza oven' wood/coal fired barbecue for the 'Jamie Olivers' who stay. Utility Room: Washing line in garden. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All towels and linen are included. A fresh supply of linen is provided each week,when beds are changed for you and a mini - clean ensures the house is fresh. Linen supplies are updated regularly. Guests will need to bring beach towels for use outdoors. Other: You can choose to eat at the dining table outside in the 'tikki-bar' area, or at a patio table - the choice is yours!! Another settee and armchairs under the patio area is a popular place to sit and read. The outdoor shower is by the flower border!

Lovely Villa with beautiful views

Villa was really clean and tidy, owners left some wine and bread for our arrival. Pool was larger than expected, but the best part was the views of the mountains and sea. The gardens were lovely and the entry was secure but easily accessed.

We took about 20 mins to walk into the centre of Nerja from the Villa.

1st Class villa especially for large families, would definitely book again.

Lovely villa - amazing pool

We were a party of 4 adults and 2 children. The villa is just lovely and is set in beautiful gardens.The pool and outside cooking/eating area made the holiday great. We enjoyed Nerja and ate out regularly. However, although the villa is not that far from the town, having 2 small children it was not practical to walk into town each night and as we would have needed 2 taxis home, we decided to hire a car for 5 days (reasonably priced and useful for shopping in the nearby Lidl).

Great house for a relaxing holiday

Perfect villa to chill

Enjoyed a week here with friends. As we arrived early and the villa was still being cleaned we were able to leave our bags with the maids while we went shopping, Lidl is only 5minutes away which is handy, but note it is closed on a Sunday. Villa was lovely and clean with a welcome pack left for us, nice touch. Would definitely recommend this villa.

El Jardine Secreto Beautiful

We had a wonderful time at " El Jardine Secreto " what a fabulous villa it is, the best equipped villa we have ever stayed in. The views are magnificent of the sea and mountains. The Villa was spotlessly clean as was the garden and pool area. The town of Nerja is a 15/20 minute walk away there is also a bus stop at roundabout just at end of road, fare is one euro into town, there is a Lidl just 5 minute walk away we found this very handy and cheap. We had all our meals outdoors by the Tikki Bar it was just a perfect place. Picking lemons off the tree, having a dip in the pool in the evening, a few drinks at the tikki bar and watching the heard of Goats go by every evening on the dot of six what more could you ask for. We would highly recommend this Villa for your holiday . Kathleen S.

A stunning villa- memorable times!

This holiday was much needed , we have not been abroad for4 years and the holiday was everything we could have asked for and more.The accomodation is beautiful and spacious with excellent modern kitchen facilities including a dishwasher. The villa is decorated most tastefully in a mix of the traditional medeteranian and modern feel I love the fact that the art work and decor reflects the owners and thus makes the property feel like a true 'home from home'. The villa was presented immaculately on arrival and the maintainance company and the owner were alway quick to respond to queries and help with local knowledge (eg taxis etc).The outside space was the real 'gem ' for us. The pool is beautiful and larger than we expected and the views from the terrace are spectacular. we enjoyed many evenings sitting in the Tiki bar sipping cocktails by the pool whilst knowing that the children were tucked up safely nearby within easy hearing distance. Our family ranges from 3 years through to 16 and we also took my mum and her husband...we all loved the villa equally it is a perfect venue for ta family holiday. The villa is not centeral to nerja but in easy walking distance to town (15 minute stroll) and a taxi is always easily available if you prefer not to walk in the heat. Nerja itself is a bustling and delightful town which has a fantastic atmosphere in the evening. We ate at a variety of resteraunts and the food was outstanding in comparison to food I have had in spain previously.I particularly recommend dinner, cocktails and live music overlooking the sea at a place in the centre called ' Mar Bella' this was a fabulous venue!

Also just to mention Lidl supooermarket is a 5 minute walk from the villa and was a real convenience for a daily stock up of fresh bits and pieces.All that is left to say is...thank you Amanda we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and lookforward to comming back next year hopefully for a little longer next time!

Special interest holidays:

Our fantastic 3 bedroomed apartment in Nerja is located in the best area in Nerja town on the Calle Carabeo. This sleeps up to 5 people and has a sea front location. The sea/mountain views are outstanding.It is reference S12882 on the Owners Direct website.

We also have a one bed in the same building ref. S29438.

There are many beautiful walks in the surrounding mountains or local activity specialists who can take you sailing/diving/jeep tours/horse riding etc.

Coast/Beach:

The local beaches of Nerja can be reached by car in approx. 5 mins.

It is possible to walk to the nearest beach and into town.The walk there is downhill 20-30mins.

The most famous beach in Nerja is Burriana, which is long and sandy and has many good fish restaurants where the food is cooked on barbecues for you. There are other smaller beaches also, so lots of choice!

Also nice to travel by car for about 15 mins along the coast road and stop at a beach with a bar/restaurant and hire sun beds

Travel:

The nearest airport is Malaga. The drive is approx. 40 mins on the autovia.

A bus is available from the airport at just a few euros. The villa would then be a short taxi ride from the bus-stop.

Some people get a taxi from the airport and this can be ordered in advance for you by our local agent.

Car hire is necessary if you would like to explore the area more.

A taxi back from town at night is approx 7 euros if you don't fancy the walk.A supermarket can be reached easily..2 mins by car.

Distances:

The town of Nerja is a very popular and yet unspoilt place to explore. It can be reached on foot if you prefer. Frigiliana is the closest white - washed village and is approx.10 mins by car. The Caves of Nerja are a famous 'must-do' and you feel as though you are entering the very belly of the earth when you are down there. They are in Maro,approx 5mins by car.

The Balcon De Europa has fabulous panoramic views and is in the centre of Nerja. A shopping centre is approx. 25mins on the autovia.

Further Details:

The town of Nerja is packed with small shops which provide a never-ending feast for the eyes for all sorts of keen shoppers, selling everything from fresh fish to ballgowns, if they don't keep you occupied enough then the many bars and restaurants will draw you in, especially for the famous tradition of Tapas-a small delicacy served free with your beer or wine. Down on the famous Burriana beach there is usually a huge Paella being cooked at Ayos and this eating experience is a must with a glass of Tinto Verano [red wine and lemonade translated as The Red of Summer]

The pretty white-washed village of Frigiliana is another place to visit and is only 10 mins drive up from the villa. The streets are cobbled and full of eclectic shops and interesting bars and small restaurants.

Banks and supermarkets are easily accessible in the town of Nerja and the choice is good.There is an excellent supermarket in easy walking distance of the villa in case you need to stock up for all your outdoor barbecues you will be having under the stars!

The drive along the coast road is beautiful and there are many smaller beaches along here to find and explore. Walking in the area is also excellent and the local tourist office in the town can provide information.

A favourite day out of ours is to put a picnic in the car and swimming gear and simply drive along the old coast road,choosing one of the many beaches and then stopping to explore for a swim and some lunch.

A rustic SPANISH WELCOME PACK is provided free of charge for all guests.

A supermarket is 5 mins away with a great variety and a local garage is open day and night for any necessities you may have forgotten to get.

There are many banks in the town along with cash points. Internet access available [charged]

We use excellent local agents and also have an apartment in the town ref. S12882.

A hairdryer is provided and there is always a basket of lilos/toys/bats and balls left by other guests for the children to use outdoors.

Booking Notes:
If you decide to book a 25% deposit is required.
If the stay is for longer than 2 weeks, a discount can be negotiated.
The balance for the holiday is due 6 weeks before departure. A damages deposit of £100 is required at this stage. This is refunded 7 days after your return if no damage is reported.
If the holiday is cancelled the deposit is non-refundable unless in exceptional circumstances.
Payments are usually made by internet transfer. Receipt of payments made will be confirmed.

Changeover Day:
The usual changeover day is Saturday. Sometimes this can be negotiated.

The usual time of departure is 10am. The time of arrival is from 3 p.m onwards only. These times can only be negotiated if there is no arrival/departure on that day.

Notes on prices:
2 cots and a highchair are available for hire at £20 per item per week. Bedding for the cot[s] supplied at a cost of £10 per week.
Rental of the small spare bed is £40 per week to include bedding. 2 x sets golf clubs @ £20 each pw
THE VILLA SLEEPS UP TO 8 guests in beds. PLEASE NOTE THAT COT HIRE AND SMALL BED HIRE IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE COST AND WILL BE CHARGED IF REQUIRED REGARDLESS OF THE NUMBER OF GUESTS STAYING IN THE OTHER BEDS.
