About Jane E. Latimer, MA
I am a psychotherapist, creativity coach and artist. When the house isn't rented, I use it for intensive immersion programs for my clients. So it has a lovely healing artistic feel and I love to share it with others. When my family left home in 2008, I decided to turn it into a healing rental property. It has been a joy to remodel it and make it a lovely place for people to create in, heal and live when they are transitioning or visiting the Portland area. It is also a great environment for stressful corporate executives to de-stress from their hectic working schedules.

Why Jane E. Latimer, MA chose Arnold Creek
This property is a lovely mix of luxury and bohemian style living. Newly painted and new furniture give a feel of upscale modern living. Yet, because of the cozy artistic feel, it also has a down-to-earth kinda quirky feel to it.
What makes this Cottage unique
The living room/kitchen is wide open and spacious surrounded by many windows that look out onto the woods of Arnold Creek. All rooms are spacious and have the feel of being right smack in the center of the woods. It's hard to believe you're only 10 minutes from downtown Portland. The woodstove in the master bedroom gives an extra bit of cozy earthy comfort especially on cold, rainy Portland nights. And the sound of rain on the skylights and windows is one I've grown to love. I hope you do, too! Please be aware that the 2nd bedroom windows do not have curtains. No one can see in and I love the open woodsy feel. It is like staying in a tree-house. If you wish to have coverings for the windows I can provide you tacks and some pretty fabric.

Charming and cozy cottage
This house was a lovely place to stay in Portland. Nicely furnished, well-stocked kitchen, and wonderful skylights all over the house. The location was excellent, the house was quiet and peaceful, and the owner was attentive in terms of making sure we had what we needed but not intrusive. We would definitely stay there again and hope to do so in the future.
Thank you Ann, you are welcome back anytime!
Beautiful woodsy setting, clean and spacious
Vaulted ceilings and skylights add to the majestic feeling of this structure. I appreciated the drawer/ closet/ cupboard space so I could completely unpack during my stay. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed to cook breakfast each morning, and we were thankful for a dishwasher. We appreciated the ease of using the smart TV to sign into our Netflix account one evening. The beds were comfortable and it was convenient to be able to park in the driveway.
Thank you Jennifer. It was a joy to have you and your family and you are welcome to come back anytime.
Great location. Clean house.
Would definitely stay again. Owner very responsive and communicative. Quiet location and located within a 15-20 minute drive of many points of interest.
Beautiful, quiet area, comfortable, private home, very helpful owner
We were very pleased with our stay at this house which was comfortable, well heated, and plenty big. Also you won't feel constantly reminded that you are staying in someone's private home as the owner has removed most personal effects from view. The owner is also extremely responsive if you need anything and was very helpful and nice but you won't see her there unless you ask for her which is perfect. The neighborhood is if anything even more beautiful and private than we had even hoped for, very quiet and green, close to a deli style market as well as Tryon Park and with easy access to get to downtown or anywhere else. Our favorite part of the stay was eating and reading outside for hours on the patio next to the kitchen with a lovely view and very quiet. If anything the place was a little big for us as we were just two people, with a bedroom we did not use but it was still a great deal. The house is also very private but the owner is up front that there is someone who lives in an apartment below. If you want even more privacy you can request that the downstairs resident enters from a pathway where you'll never see him at all pass by the window.
Tryon Creek State Park is one mile from the house. It has miles and miles of hiking and equestrian trails. The nature center has classes for children and is a wealth of information on ecosystem of the area. Multnomah Village is a quaint small little village with arts and crafts shops, restaurants and coffee shops. It is a great place to stroll and buy antiques, art and trinkets. It has a great bead shop and yarn shop. You are only 10 minutes from downtown via Barbur Blvd. No need to get on the freeway, but if you want, I-5 is only 3 minutes away and from there you can head north to the artsy trendy neighborhoods of Alberta Arts and Hawthorne. It is easy to get around if you have a car. If you don't, there is a bus that will take you into the city and from there you can catch other buses or take the Max. The upscale area of Lake Oswego is about 15 minutes south with many restaurants and shops. Bridgeport shopping area is about 10 minutes by car south on I-5.
