Clos Donne is a traditional wood and stone building, renovated in 2008 to the highest standards, garden surrounds the property and there is ample parking. In an open sunny valley. Essert Romand is 5 minutes from Morzine in the heart of the Portes du Soleil, the largest linked ski area in the world which stretches for 650km through France and into Switzerland. The supermarket is 5 minutes away and the charming and unhurried resort of St Jean d'Aulps just 5 minutes further. Geneva is 75 minutes by road. Non skiers will also find plenty to do, lovely lakeside walks, cleared paths through the forest, guided snowshoe trails to find the wildlife, many mountain restaurants are accessible on foot. Wonderful area in the summer too, restaurants and lifts still open, mountain walking, Mountain biking, swimming, rafting, clear air, alpine flowers and few crowds.

Hello, I am Susan, a grandmother in my 60's. I live on the Dorset coast. I have 4 adult sons, my oldest son lives in St Jean d'Aulps with his wife and 3 children. I bought the apartment in Essert Romand, 6 minutes away from their house in order to have a place for all the family to stay to visit, with 3 children their own home is becoming quite busy ! Gareth and Sam run businesses in the Portes du Soleil, primarily mountain biking, snowshoeing and property. You have the assurance that there is a very practical member of the family on the spot to give you advice and assistance.

My oldest son and his wife have lived in the Morzine area for 15 years and all their children have been born there. I have visited often and fallen in love with the area in all seasons. The skiing is varied enough for me never to be bored, the mountain restaurants plentiful and wonderful so I never go hungry. Out of the ski season there is much to do and visit, and wonderful walking. In the evenings there are more lovely restaurants than I can review ! Morzine is a lovely town, a resort but also a place where real people live, so it is never dead out of season like some places. Essert Romand is just out of Morzine, peaceful but very accessible.
What makes this Apartment unique
Close to a variety of lifts and ski areas, though not within walking distance, you do need a car to get the most out of the area. 5 or 6 minutes only by car. The lovely old building contains 8 apartments all privately owned. You also have the advantage of a member of the family living very close by if anything should go wrong. For instance if you should have a medical emergency do not hesitate to contact Gareth who will refer you immediately to his own Doctor.

Just what we expected as it's our third stay here.
We stayed at Clos Donne for a week and loved the apartment. It's beautifully equipped and spotlessly clean. The view of the mountains from the balcony is fabulous.

Enjoyed our stay here. Owner very good leading up to our trip, although once we arrived no need to contact the owner - everything was fine.
Great base for walking, visiting local lakes and Morzine.
This was our second summer stay in this unit, this time for 2 weeks. It is a well-appointed home from home. Great facilities, clean and well-maintained. Well managed by the local agent. Perfect to come back to after a good day outdoors. Location is ideal for us. Close enough to Morzine and Les Gets, but in a quiet village location for a good night's sleep! We'll be back.
Surrounded by wonderful mountains, walking, skiing and biking. You do not need to leave the area, but if you do Chamonix and Mont Blanc are less than an hour away.
Lake Geneva is 30 minutes away, Thonon and Evian are charming Spa towns on the lakeside.
Easy to get to, Geneva and the international airport is 75 minutes by road. Calais is about 8 hours.
Morzine 5 minutes. St Jean d'Aulps 5 minutes and Le Abbaye.
Chamonix and Mont Blanc 40 minutes. Lake Geneva 30 minutes.
Extensive shopping in Morzine. Good selection of ski and snowboard rental, and purchase in winter. Mountain bike hire in summer. Many restaurants, bars and nightlife, banks, medical facilities and Tourist Information. Local cheeses and smoked meat and sausage, local crafts. Large supermarket outside St Jean d'Aulps. boulangerie etc in the village of St Jean d'Aulps.

Booking Notes: Please contact owner. 10% deposit required on booking, balance 6 weeks before. Returnable damage deposit (£100) taken in advance, returned two weeks after let if no damage, or extra cleaning required. Changeover Day: Saturday in the high season, please vacate by 10am, arrivals after 4pm, can be flexible in the low season and the summer. An additional charge of £30 may be made for early check-in or late check out. Notes on prices: Prices are for the property per week in UK pounds. Payment in Euros can also be arranged
