Island View offers complete peace and seclusion, and is set at the end of a private drive, within the residential area of Carbis Bay. A short walk from the historical St. Ives and the large and beautiful sands of Carbis Bay. Comfort is evident in every room following its full renovation; the kitchen is superbly equipped, whilst all bedrooms have their own plasma TVs. The lounge has a large, leather corner suite with adjustable headrests, a remote controlled 'plasma' electric fire, blu-ray DVD and Sony audio with i-pod/i-phone dock. The lounge and kitchen French doors lead to the south-facing rear garden with total privacy. The raised decking area takes full advantage of the garden's sun trap. Upstairs has a master and twin bedroom, with each having a Velux window with blackout blinds, with the master having a roll-top bath, and the twin an en-suite. The downstairs master and twin bedrooms are equally comfortable, sharing the main bathroom and enjoy the views of the garden's shrubbery.

Porthmeor, St. Ives, a large wide sandy beach on the Western side of St Ives. There are facilities close to the beach including the St Ives Tate Gallery.

Porth Kidney Sands, Lelant, a deceptively large stretch of white sand with a huge expanse of sand at low tide. There are extensive dunes.

Notes on accommodation: Island View lies as the last house at the end of a private drive and has complete seclusion. As such, it is completely suitable for children. To the front of the house is a large open area for parking, as well as a separate drive, and so parking for several cars is possible. Steps to the front door, the rear garden is level with the French doors to the kitchen/dining area. Kitchen and lounge facilities as described above, wireless broadband and digital TV also provided. Prices include all gas and electricity usage. Full gas CH. Stair gate. Regret no smoking or pets. Outside: Two decking areas within the secluded south facing rear garden sun trap, and extensive trees and shrubbery. Garden table with accompanying chairs and bench, sun loungers. External lighting, barbecue and shed for storage. Further patio area adjacent to the French doors to the lounge for those who wish to relax in the shade. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Duvets and linen provided. Weekly maid service, all wash facilities available within house if required.

Good location with great parking

The house is large and spacious, with great parking for multiple cars if needed.

Richard is very accommodating, and graciously supplied us towels as we had come from Canada.

It was clean and tidy, but both inside and out could use some TLC.

Not as descibed. Tired and rundown

Really surprised as previous reviews were good. Property is well situated but patio, exterior and garden are run down, doors are falling off the electricity meter box ,the shed is falling down , the garden and surrounding hard standings is full of weeds. The patio very slippery and the wooden furniture rotting away . There was no gas for the BBQ and despite contacting the owner none was supplied. Internally it is spacious . Beds comfortable and bedding clean and fresh. No towels are supplied . There is not enough seating for 6 adults in the lounge and the fold up kitchen chairs have seen better days. The shower surrounds and back of hob need a good clean. Several lights were not working throughout and there are wires hanging down under some of the kitchen cupboards. There were not enough wine glasses or small glasses. The ensuite in the upstairs double is functionable although it is so narrow you cannot move your arms or pull your knickers up!

The beach is great, as is the train to St Ives which is very reasonable and quick. Would recommend the cream teas at Rosemergy Farmhouse and we had a really good meal and evening at La casita. Staff and food there excellent . Worth booking ahead as it is very popular.

Not as described or as shown in the photos. Property is tired and outside is run down .

We were really surprised when we arrived as the previous reviews were good. The property is well situated for a family stay however the patio , garden and exterior are run down . The doors are falling off the electricity meter housing, the shed is falling down with the garden and hard standing at the side of the house full of weeds . The patio is slippery and the wooden furniture falling apart. There was no gas for the gas BBQ and despite contacting the owner none materialised.

Internally it is spacious and the bedding fresh and clean . The showers and back of the hob needed a good clean and there were several lights not working throughout. There were wires hanging down below two of the kitchen cupboards. Despite advertising the contrary, towels are no longer provided . There were plenty of cooking tins though there were not enough wine glasses or smaller glasses.

There is not enough seating for 6 adults in the lounge and the fold up chairs in the kitchen had seen better days.

Bedrooms are of a good size and beds are comfortable. The ensuite in the main bedroom upstairs is a narrow cupboard which is although functional there is no room to move your arms or pull your knickers up.

The beach is great and so is the train service to St Ives which is quick ,inexpensive and saves driving.We arranged a Tesco delivery and the driver was very helpful and cheerful. We had a great cream tea at the beautifully situated Rosemergy Farmhouse and would also thoroughly recommend La Casita for it great food, atmosphere and excellent staff.

Lovely Island View

From start to finish the whole process of booking and paying was really smooth and the owner is a great communicator and a dream to deal with.

The house itself is lovely, very spacious, well placed and the decking area is a real sun trap. We were very lucky with the weather and absolutely fell in love with St Ives and Carbis Bay. I would highly recommend and would definitely go back.

For weekly bookings departure by 10:00am on Saturday, arrival no earlier than 2:00pm on the Saturday. Otherwise by arrangement.

Notes on prices:
Prices are for the property per week in UK Pounds. Outside of peak periods (Summer, Christmas/New Year, and Easter) shorter breaks are possible at any time, subject to availability and a minimum 2 night stay. Rates will be 10% of the weekly rate per night for Sun-Thu stays, 25% of the weekly rate per night for Fri-Sat.

Owner's Cancellation Policy

  • 50% refund if canceled at least 7 days before arrival date.
  • 100% refund if canceled at least 14 days before arrival date.
