We stayed for one week last year and will be returning again this year.Everything was clean and comfortable. There are plenty of restaurants, shops etc nearby in magnificent countryside. The pool is great and Steve and Andrea made us all very welcome. All in all an excellent place to stay with good facilities and lots to see and do.
This is our second stay at 'Les Fontaines' in the Manor House and we loved it just as much as the first time, if not more. Andrea and Steve are the perfect hosts and always ready with a smile – nothing is too much trouble, and very helpful in answering any questions you may have regarding places to visit, restaurants etc. There is plenty to do in the area and if you are prepared to travel between 30 minutes to 1 hour there is masses to see and do. We loved it so much that we came back for 3 weeks this time (last year we stayed for 2 weeks).
The house is very pretty, clean and tidy, and very comfortable with beautiful furnishings inside. The top floor in particular is very spacious and English TV is now available should you wish! It is wonderfully quiet and peaceful with a lovely garden and swimming pool. There is also a garden room where I was able to set up my easel and paint – the perfect space for me and out of the heat of the sun.
I am already making plans to return again next summer – it’s becoming like our second home!
My family and I stayed in the Country House for a week. We had viewed the property on their website and it more than lived up to our expectations. Such a beautiful house and peaceful surroundings. Inside the house the rooms are well proportioned, very clean and a lot of thought has gone into the luxurious furnishings and décor. Outside there is a large pool which is kept immaculately clean and has plenty of loungers etc. for relaxing by the pool. it was lovely to go out sightseeing and return for a lovely afternoon swim. Andrea and Steve were great hosts and nothing was too much trouble. They recommended several places to visit, Najac, a picturesque village with a medieval hilltop castle and St Cirq-Lapopie another village with houses clinging to the hillside with breath taking views of the Lot valley. We will certainly return and won't hesitate to recommend Les Fontaine to friends and family.
Les Fontaines is a wonderful place to visit. The house is beautifully furnished, well-equipped and has plenty of space for our family to spread out. Andrea and Steve are very welcoming and helpful although the house is quite private. Despite it's quiet and sleepy feel, there is plenty to do in the area. We went horse riding, walking, cycling, canoeing, swimming as well as relaxing by the pool. The choice of restaurants serving excellent food is huge; we especially enjoyed the weekday menu at the michelin starred L'Epicurien in Villefranche. Overall, a wonderful holiday and we will definitely be returning.
We have just returned from an all to brief stay at "Les Fontaines". The property has been impressively and lovingly restored by the owners (Steve & Andrea) with great attention to detail, all the rooms we used were furnished to a high standard, very clean, bed was very comfortable. Steve & Andrea are the perfect "hosts" with extensive knowledge of the region and are happy to give advise on the best places to see and best restaurants to eat at - (if you don't want to use the beautiful kitchen to cook). The pool and garden area are so peaceful and if you love birdsong you won't be disappointed.
Overall we cannot fault "Les Fontaines" or Steve & Andrea and would highly recommend them to anyone wishing to visit this part of France
